As an old guy that watched ST in the 60's, I have to say that these folks have captured the feel perfectly of the shows I watched as a kid. Bravo! I don't see how they could have done a better job. What a balancing act! Keep em coming!

As a fellow old guy, the total commitment of the cast to the classic formula was amazing to watch. This WAS an extension of the original series, absolutely. And to bring talent like Erin Grey, Ferrigno into the mix? Wow!
Of course the return of Apollo (Michael Forest) in the first episode is my favorite, as the closure to his story was nothing less than tear-felt by this mythology/trek fan. Well done!

I totally agree. I just stumbled upon the episode "Lelani" last night -- I had no idea this new series even existed, and probably would have decided not to bother with it had I known (I'm also an "old Trekker", who got hooked on STAR TREK in the 1970's). But it's very well done -- I'm so impressed. Excellent job, folks!

I really do believe that this is the Star Trek that Gene Roddenberry would have made in 2014.

I really like the Star Trek Continues series. I have been following the Star Trek Phase Two Effort because I thought this thing had been abandoned, and there weren't to be any more episodes of StarTrek contuniues. Delighted to see this series did not die. I think it is the most true to the spirit of the original series and the best of the fan-based Star Trek recreations.

I was totally blown away. The feel of it was just right. And Lou Ferrigno did an excellent job. I thought I knew where it was going, but I was in awe at the ending. I hope they make many more episodes of like quality. Well done!!!

Vic Mignogna is a genius. This should NOT be called star trek continues but rather it should be called "Star Trek: the Lost Episodes". It's LITERALLY as if in the 60's they fired the original cast in a fall out and had to rehire the whole cast and then had continued it.
    1. The orian Slave Owner was a stroke of genius and it was his presence as well as Erin Greys that had validated it all from fan film to something completely Official and authentic.
    2. Scotty's son actually being SCOTTY????? Frikin Crazy!!!! He's a dead ringer, it's eerie!
    3. Of all the Orian slave girls they've ever showed Lolani has to be the hottest I've ever seen.
    4. Spocks casting is understandable since they approximated the visual face w/his big nose, but that's about it. Spock here was very feminine and sort of dweebish like Abrams thing. He was a bit nerdy or geeky, but he gives a good performance. It just unfortunately lacks the epic masculinity of Spock and was not very grave or gothic.
    5. J.J. Abrams will be sorely embarrassed by this thing which exposes Abrams pretty hard. Abrams gave a great entertainment but he gave us Star Wars. People who loved that Abrams thing and so start going to see the original are usually disappointed cuz they're expecting that Star Wars style. Thanks for the fun entertainment Abrams but no thanks for the Lie. Mignogna challenges the lie w/truth and is the REAL talent.
At least pump out two more episodes!! Every Trekkie is going crazy for this shit

Now Star Trek Continues episodes are hitting MILLIONS of views. It's not too late CBS, hire these actors, and bring back the original.
    It's only going to succeed.

    THERE BE SPOILERS, BELOW:
"Lolani" was extraordinarily good, certainly in the top half when considered against all the Original Series episodes despite a couple of problems with the script. I put it right around The Galileo Seven in quality, and in the acuity with which the characters' moral dilemma is observed. I was also delighted by the writers' disinclination to take the happy ending and run. When Kirk decides to go after the slaver's ship we think, aha, crisis of conscience and all is well. When Lolani then detonates the ship, though, that explosive punctuation to her suffering and her horror at again being enslaved makes for a bittersweet, even tragic ending characteristic of the best TOS episodes. In fact, I'd say an unwillingness to leave blood on the floor is one of the things that hamstrung TNG and made it less than it could be. TNG was obviously aimed at teens. TOS and Continues is written and produced very much with adults in mind.
To be direct, I'd say only the actor playing McCoy isn't up to the job, while Spock is acceptable, if uninspired. Spock is probably the most difficult role to play; you need to underplay without going passive, and the actor isn't there yet, though he's improved over the first episode.
