Eddie's backing vocals sounds ok, but Mike Stone has better backing vocals than Eddie Jackson does. Stoney sounds more like Chris Degarmo's backing vocals, so is good to have Mike Stone back in the band.
So you have Tate, sounding great, playing with a band that struggles, and two QR members playing great with a singer who struggles. I hope someone is able throw enough money at Scott and Chris someday, to give us the curtain call we’d all love to pay handsomely to hear and see…
Honestly I wouldn’t criticize Todd’s voice here. Extremely hard song to sing at the end of a long setlist. Geoff and every other singer has had the same problem. It’s all good.

This dude has always been a phenomenal singer, top tier. But... a Geoff Tate he is not. It's one of those things that just shouldn't be done when a band with such a iconic voice changes vocalists, it's just not as good or the same, you just can't imitate or duplicate Geoff Tate's mannerisms and phrasing. I understand money is a motivator and the desire to continue playing, I no longer do so I know the feeling. But it's like trying to replace Peter Steele of Type O Negative, it's just not possible. Same with Alice in Chains, you can't replace Lane Staley, or Chris Cornell, etc.... just start a new.
I just listened to this now, and am pretty disappointed. Kind of choppy, with obviously strained vocals. He is.. Well, a singer, but not in the same class as Geoff Tate. I would see the original Quuensryche in a heartbeat. This, not so much.
sadly this is largely true of 90% of the bands from the 80s. it's very difficult to keep a band together apparently, especially when it comes to the lead singers.
@Brian Berry I don't listen to the new shit.. Only with the master.. Geoff.. I've been there since the beginning.. See them 6 times and once with the new guy.. I left after a few songs.. I hung out downstairs with Fates Warning.. I met there sound guy and he took me down.. Fucking awesome as far as I remember.. Lol
