His voice is one in a million. I have been a Queensryche/Geoff Tate fan from day one. The man still has it! Amazing as usual.
When was day 1?
Same her i bought the Debut EP back when it first released.. Saw them open for KISS i believe the warning hadn't even been released yet.. We went saw Queensryche and got up and left we were not interested in Kiss without make up... When we got up to leave some guy says your not staying for kiss.. Told him nah we came to see Queensryche keep your eye on them their gonna be big...
It's still better than Todd's voice.
My son was scared at times and he would lay his head on my lap and I would sing this song to him. Blessed be
I miss him
Your reaction gave me goosebumps and a tear in my eyes.....
At his age like him or not he still has one of the best rock/metal voices of all time.
This guy is incredible 😮 His voice is just amazing. It's a damn shame,he doesn't get the recognition he deserves.
I agree 💯 percent
Watching from Ireland
My. GOD. He sounds amazing!
Wow he still sounds amazing 👏
Beautiful song
He still has that awesome voice!
Voice is still amazing! Yes still adjustments made but stll awesome and better then most can do in their prime.
I was 10 in 1990 and my talent show performance was my own gymnastics routine to this song. I pulled it off, lol. Music was so much better then. This song was a favorite then. Amazing band and incredible vocals. It brought tears to my eyes seeing him perform this so many years later.
I'm 44 and started gymnastics at 4. Missed the horse. KO. Took years to fly again. These days landing is easy. Didn't know Queensryche still performed. Not bad! Good! Way to go. Get back on the horse so to say
I would not you deny a seat, Apple conference with Barns
I love Geoff he is amazing . I would so love to meet him
He is very quiet, kind, and gracious. I first met him in 1983 in Seattle when I was 15. Queensryche's debut 4 song EP had just been released locally and they were starting to get known around town. Motley Crue were playing the Paramount on their Shout at the Devil tour, and Queensryche were there to see the show and were signing autographs in the lobby before the show and I chatted with him for several minutes. I ran into him again in 1991 at a convenience store in Seattle, and after all the fame, he was still a friendly, nice guy. I was lucky enough to see them play live opening for Dio on his Holy Diver tour at the Paramount in October of 1983 and it was an amazing show...still local and not famous yet.
Here's an interview to see what a great guy he is: ruclips.net/video/hN_PuYp--Eg/видео.html
And this is how I prefer to remember them, as this is when I saw them live in 1983: ruclips.net/video/i0_THrxYs1w/видео.html
i had a VERY close friend show this to me and i will never forget her. she was an angel to me and this song will always remind me of her. i miss you amanda.
Same. It was my Sunday school teacher who was everything good. Beautiful, kind, just a perfect human and she died at age 27 when her motorcycle flew off a hill. I’m seeing Geoff tomorrow night, so excited but tears are going to fall.
Geoff all the way! I didn't discover the old QR till this year and I hate that I missed all those shows and music. I went out and bought all the CDs. I just love QR with Geoff. Keep up the great work Geoff!!!!
I saw Mindcrime live. Originally. Unreal. I will never forgot those songs. Unique. Visionary. Transformational.
I still have the video cassette box set of those performances. It's incredible.
@@UAPbigfootandBOATDRINKS cool
Superb performance by all band members.
So crucial song to me. A long time ago...
❤ me too
Fantastic sound! Just like the album
You need your ears checked!
Amazing 😊💪👍👏
Wowww
Nice i love this
Saw them once live. Was great! This song was the first song i liked and someone told me he could sing 7 octaves.
It comes really close with a familiar pink floyd song. Lets say thats silent lucidity 😉
He just had open heart surgery end of June and was on the road 3 months later. He’s winded a little but i see him live every year about 6 feet away -once he heals in 5 months he’ll be insane again. I’m going to see him tonight.
@@meatball6930 have fun!
Geoff hovers around 4 octaves.
Geoff studied OPERA!! He had around 7 octaves in his younger days , very few could match him !!!
@@lauraashley6297 No, he did not have a 7 octave range. Just look up random "Geoff Tate Vocal Range" video, and count for yourself. Still one of my absolute favorite singers. He did take a few classes with master David Kyle, but the extent of his opera training (his aunt was an opera singer) is a a bit of a myth, even perpetuated by Geoff himself in the 80's every now and then - Makes for good promotion.
I’m going tonight-does anyone know how long the opening band is? He comes to a tiny theater 5 miles from my house every year and i]we go see him. He’s insane still and he had heart surgery 5 months ago -i can hear he’s a little winded but give him 5 more months and he’ll be better than he was before. I see a ton of concerts still and him every year and it blows us away every time. Nobody can do this at 63 especially 5 months after surgery.
@@BlackWidow00741 What are you saying??
I would love to go see Geoff in person. But I have a fear of being in large groups of people now with all that has been going on in the world. So I am very glad we have these videos. TY!
Fear is of the enemy dude take off the 😷
Obviously it's about another one excellent performance from one of the most important singer's of all Times.
Thanks a lot Geoff Tate 👩🚀👍
I'm wish you all the best and always Success in your Life.
Without Geoff Tate and Chris de Garmo, there is no QUEENSRYCHE Anymore (!).
Got to like this
So beautiful of a song
I've seen QR twice before the split and this take may be the best I've heard. Great Job Geoff ! The other band can't come close. Period.

Wonderful
He's just phenomenal. Still ❤
Sounds good
I am a big fan of Geoff’s. I really, really wish he would perform newer material.
Always take me back to that time ❤
OMG love him!!

Always remember “silence in Tennessee “ is a great song!! 😂🤣😎
I wanted to this when he was in Greenville, but didn’t have the cash!
The 1st of October 2023 is in the future!?
Your dream is over ; or has it just begun ?
Where's his hair?
Exactly I don’t expect that !!!
I cant get passed the fake drumset..
Cell phones need to be banned from concerts.
shame the drummer didn't pull it off anywhere close to the ballpark of Scott
lighting guy has an itchy trigger finger
Stephen Seagal can really sing!
just kidding, but Geoff has always looked as if he was taking style ques from Seagal, and that has not really changed.
You embarrass yourself but I'm guessing that's nothing new
@@ScottAnd not embarrassed. What is so offensive to you about this stupid comment?
imagine how he sounds if his voice isn't going through the sound board with all of the effects. Ouch
While I can appreciate what you are saying (to an extent), I think what we need to understand is that he isn't using any pitch correction software, i.e. autotune. whereas almost everything we hear live, or on recordings today, use that method. He only has a little reverb and compression on his voice.
He needs to quit being so dramatic
Ich finde er klingt hier Lustlos oder er kann es nicht mehr besser.🤷♂️😥
Er steht darüber
I've always loved this song, but I can't help but laugh when he does his ridiculous theatrics and silly vocal quirks when he plays it live. It's not the song I fell in love with 30+ years ago.
Geoff needs to let it go. The man still has a fantastic voice, but there’s no chemistry with his new band.
Wrong. I see him every year in a tiny theater he loves by the beach 5 miles from my house. He just had open heart surgery 5 months ago and went out on road 3 months after. He’s a little winded but give it 5 months and he’ll be insane again. But you’re wrong about chemistry-i see him every year and he does. I talk to the band out side this little theatre afterwards and then he comes out-some of them smoke so it’s right by the parking lot. Then Geoff used to go up on the rooftop bar and hang out after. Don’t know when i see him tonight since he’s still recovering from heart surgery technically.
Why don't you let the best Era of your own life go!!! Who the hell are you to say that??
When everything you loved in the past is time for you to move on, I hope it's as easy as you think it is...
You need to let go of the illusion that your opinion somehow has value
Wonder why he has the keys so low in the mix.
