Great to see an economist like Sharad interview Sanjeev. It made the conversation much more focused and meaningful.
Sanjeev himself has been bringing attention to the need of Process Reforms (extremely underrated) for quite some time. Removing the cobwebs and rent seekers by improving the process itself is a shortcut to reducing corruption. We urgently need reforms in revenue collection agencies to reduce harrassment of corporates and small business owners as well.

lol the ruling party and their clowns started the negative sentiment against FDI. now that they made a mess of India's economic growth they are crawling back like shameless fools since FDI is the only hope for economic development. Rest of us were saying this since last 10 years. You don't need a phd in economics to see such basic things. All a bunch of clowns. BYD was ready to manufacture in India many years ago, but these clowns were going behind Tesla and Tesla deserted them and now they will shamelessly go back to BYD😂😂😂

Bureaucracy just needs to be taught to think on first principles. Redesigning any process, just needs reordering the sequence of questions we ask about it. Start with why, followed by what and then how. Instead we are too busy figuring out only how. First principles zindabad..

Process reforms at state level badly needed. How can Center facilitate or even force States to do this?
The least BJP Govt can do is to force the states it controls to undertake process reforms. We need a Sanjeev Sanyal in every BJP ruled state.
Once citizens see the interaction with state has dramatically improved with lower rent seeking by corrupt babus BJP will gain politically. Other states will also start doing these same reforms.
One reform I can think of is to centralize all IT infrastructure that states provide. For example, the IT that RTO uses or citizens use to pay local corporation tax or apply for an electricity connections, these need to be on the same software centrally maintained. This way best practices and features of a good state propagates to all states automatically.

India always alure foreign investrors with its big market, however, if histroy shows no one could make money out of India, this market become meaningless for them. Since China generally has very good relationship with Asean countries, Chinese business men are more inclined to invest there. Unlike other states in India, in TN we only discuss solutions. Our dear leader Mr. Stalin encourages everyone to actively participate in the governance process. A school student can also call and discuss solutions with our dear leader, and he listens and implements the solution. It is a community driven process where everyone is a stack holder.
