      Id even go further to say that Ebay should encourage communication between parties and penalize failure to do so. Never in the real world does a buyer get a platform to defame a small buisness before communicating with said buisness first. I have like 4 negatives from buyers who never even tried reaching out and it looks really obvious what Ebay is doing. Its about $. Has to be.

    Goodwill prices have indeed gotten insane. I've seriously considered standing on the sidewalk outside of Goodwill with a sign saying "I pay CASH for your donations! See me before you donate to Goodwill!". I figure I could grab the good stuff, pay the person money for stuff they were willing to just give away, and then they can donate whatever is left to Goodwill.

    I got two neutrals recently, both for mistakes the buyer made. I sell antique German animals, and I list their size in cm and inches. I photograph next to a ruler and a soda can. Two customers complained that the animals were smaller than expected. I get neutrals because they don't know what 4 inches look like? And Ebay is totally unhelpful -- they won't change feedback, no matter how ludicrous it is, apparently. The system should be overhauled -- customers leave neutral or negative feedback because they're not happy with their own decision to buy an item. That is unfair.

      People get too wrapped up in 100% feedback. You can't please everyone, who cares if someone leaves a neutral or neg. If you sell hundreds or thousands of items a neg won't hurt. It's a total waste of time sitting on the phone with eBay or talking to chat, if someone see your feedback they can tell a pita buyer by the feedback left.

      I feel for you, I received a negative saying that he had unauthorized charges on his card after purchasing from eBay. I requested a revision kindly stating we as sellers do not have any access to payments on eBay. He then changed it to neutral and eBay said it doesn’t violate their terms so they won’t remove it, even though it is clearly not a reflection on our store. Completely arbitrary rule and a slap in the face when we work hard for a 100% positive feedback score.

    I went from spending $15,000 to $20,000 plus a year in Goodwill to very little in the last year or so. They're pricing resellers out of the store, which is their right as a business. The problem is 60% of the people I'd see in the Goodwill were resellers... so... I still go so I can count the mileage on my trips to town, but I find myself walking out with one item or less a lot now as opposed to 10 to 15 items just a few years ago.

    The "trick" with Goodwill is you have to be smarter/more knowledgeable than the person doing the pricing. Generally, I find Goodwill is a lousy place to source, as their prices are high, really high. Occasionally I do find deals in the clearance center (pound/bin store). Sales here are on fire too. Had my first $1000 day. My average is $2000/month, so getting half a month' worth of sales in one day was great.

Didn't think so. Then you don't get to call me by my first name." Some of the parents had an issue with my methods, but as you well know, it was just a small step towards learning respect.

Older (different each week) color tags were 50% off and once a month they had the entire store on sale 50% off. Now nothing, they have some sort of plan where you have a tag and after you spend so much (north of $20) they give you a small discount. That's it. Another problem is the stores are full of junk. If they get any good donations they are selling them elsewhere. To make a long story short, I seldom buy anything at GW these days.

I also find that people buy many items and only ;eave one feedback now.

I think it could be because eBay changed the feedback form to where it appears to be asking for feedback on the *item*, and not the seller or the buying experience, yet the buyer's comments do get attached to us as sellers. It's been like this for months now, without any change. Ebay clearly doesn't give a hoot about the sellers.

    May was spotty, then the last few days of May until June 4th, I got my upswing- always so I can pay for the store. After June 4th, I got ONE $10 sale until last night. So, 8 painful days with one sale. Last night I got 3 sales each about $10. I've been working all day. I put a lot of time into cross posting though. I'm a disabled widow and this is so painful, I literally have $3 in my checking account. I have one bill I have to pay on the 16th that's $28. So, I MAY have just enough if that deposit for the 3 sales hits fast enough. Otherwise, I have no idea what to do. Just keep trying, I guess.

    Great video. Yes my neutral feedback lately has sucked! I have had a 100% positive feedback for years and I work very hard to keep it that way, however 2 negative feedbacks and it has dropped my feedback rating , to about a 98% and I’m not happy about, but whatever, I figure that’s just the world today, what can you do? Oh well. Yes my goodwill also have lost their minds, I think they have not trained their employees properly on how to run comps , you certainly can’t go by listings, you have to look at solds! 😢 I don’t think goodwill cares what I think, obviously. Thanks Mr. Brown, love your videos

    It's not just Goodwill most of these big thrift stores have dimwits doing the pricing. I was at one, 2 exact same items priced differently. One $1.99 and the other $7.99. The store would not let me have both for $1.99 each. Their exact words "thats the price".

    Middle Tennessee Goodwill WORSE.
    Our Goodwill does an excellent job removing desirable items. Senior management has successfully trained store staff to remove almost all desirable items. These items are sold by Goodwill online.
    The store has become a “nice” high priced Bin store. If you’re looking for Kirkland / Gap clothing, coffee cups or other less desirable pre-sorted items you can find it here. In my opinion, if your a reseller source elsewhere.
    If you want to donate, donate elsewhere. What was once a Great organization has lost its soul.

    Goodwill has quite a business plan. While they are technically a 501C3 (not-for-profit), the management make very good money, while they in many cases pay less than federal minimum wage to their employees, under the guise of providing "training." Imagine opening a retail store where all your merchandise is free!

When it comes to neutral feedback, I have been lucky to have never received neutral feedback, I am currently still sitting at 100% on feedback - Goodwill prices have gone way up! I still find some gems, but the prices have doubled or in some cases tripled in price.

    I just got a neutral from a buyer who was buying something for parts (said "parts" in the title) had communicated extensively with me before purchase and I took a super low parts offer just to move it on. He noted in the feedback that it didn't work. Really?!? So silly. And I got another neutral for someone who thought the colors didn't look the same as the photo, but the shoes were great. Both happened recently and both from people who made offers and emailed me first. People are funny.

I had huge yard sale but still moved into my new tiny digs with way to much. So 1 to 2 times a week i leave a free box at the end of my drive way. But I still have stuff that I hope is worth money. I used to collect Toby Mugs and have boxes of them. Many old ones from Japan. Lot's of other stuff in my shed. How do i go on line and evaluate a price for all or one? And other stuff i want to let go of. My daughter doesn't want anything so there ya go!

    Most buyers who leave neutral or negative feedback think they are leaving it for ebay and NOT the actual seller. Unfortunately ebay does not have a way to educate buyers for anything they do on ebay. If you are a seller you must follow rules and get in big trouble if you don't but for buyers pretty much anything goes.

    Yep yesterday a guy bought my xbox 360 game and left me neutral feedback because it did not work on his xbox one, ebay refused to remove the feedback which is ridiculous but eventually i got the buyer to amend the feedback, but ebay really need to re-evaluate thier current feedback policy, what they are showing is that unfair feedback is allowed even when its buyer error even though thier terms clearly say about buyer error. What next, a guy leaves a negative because his CD does not work in a VCR and ebay are just gonna leave that feedback up, its nonsense.

    Some Goodwill's in my area are better, some worse or were already really bad with prices a year ago. My closest and main one I go to has lowered the prices on many things back closer to what they use to be. New items or ones that resell for a lot, like shoes, are still priced up but not as much ($10 or $12 for a $35 pair now instead of $15 or $19). One other store is starting to figure it out and has lowered a few types of things, but not like my main store. I will continue to go and look each week, I mostly buy items on sale that week, we do have the two color sales here. With garage sale season in full swing it's not as necessary as during the winter. And I don't buy much, just two or three items each trip.

    Goodwill stores in Tennessee have gotten ridiculous, there is no rhyme or reason to their prices. They have broken items priced or just trash that needs to be thrown away. In a lot of cases it's higher than the original price in the store. In our local GW recently they had a buffet priced at $699 granted it was hold but not in good shape at all.

    • @Cbgrandtheftauto
      @Cbgrandtheftauto 3 месяца назад +2

      From my research, it's a regional thing. All of TN is under the same region. Each is just as shitty as the other. I know North FL ships all their good items to a central location where they charge damn near retail and the stores get just average junk. TN is the same way. I notice we never get anything good in our stores, but if you go online the same store is selling all the good stuff for eBay prices. I got to where I quit buying from them. It's not worth the time and effort to flip their junk anymore.

    • @ginadots
      @ginadots 3 месяца назад +1

      @@Cbgrandtheftauto It makes no sense sometimes there will be something really good priced low and trash priced high. I sold a doll that was in good condition. I had multiple pictures to prove it. The woman who bought her washed her hair using regular shampoo. You dont wash a dolls hair using regular shampoo because it will make the hair fall out. So she lies and tries to say her hair was already like that. Ebay ignores all the proof i had and just took her side. I will say it again. I dont care how much money you have to spend. There has to be stuff to buy. So sellers are just as important. EBAY!

    I think that buyers are leaving neutral because it wasn't a good or bad experience but it was an experience lol. Most people don't realize that a neutral feedback is like a stain on a seller's account. I had a person request to cancel an order, which I did for them. They left a neutral that said "THIS ORDER WAS CANCELED". Just like that in all caps. Ummm, yeeesss, it sure was. Because you requested it!! Haha! I just sent in a request to get it removed and it was removed immediately. Kevin, it's easy enough to send in a request to get them removed. The reason you have so many is because you aren't trying to get them removed anymore lol
