Welcome to joing the 2025 Diversity Book Bingo! In the description, you'll find a link to Part One where I explain how it works, as well as some extra resources and downloads! I also set up a Storygraph Challenge that you are welcome to join, also linked in the description. Let me know if you have any questions! 💜😊
I kind of love that we also read a lot of books together, so I might steal some of your answers 😂 I think I have a good chunk from you since we read together so much from 2024, so I'm grateful for that! I'm probably going to end up doubling up for 2024 but hopefully that changes in 2025! I KNOW one slot I won't be able to fill out would probably be short story for 2024 because I don't think I read any books that were a collection of short stories. I think mine might be scarce on reflecting for 2024 lol.
Haha true! 😄 You could definitely fit a short story in before 2024 is over IF you really wanted to, you don't need a whole collection, but it's just a good way to see where there might be any gaps! Or to get some ideas how you could interpret the prompts. I can't wait to see what everyone picks! 😄💜
I'm curious to try to fill the board for 2024 as well and see how I did this year as a benchmark for next year. I don't think I read anything from indigenous people, and surely not from all the continents.
@@daniella-raye It’s time! 😄 I’ve started adding suggestions on Storygraph if you want to join there, not sure I’ve got much on Africa yet but there will be 😊
This was very helpful to see the bingo board in action! Now I want to try it for 2024 just to see how I did, haha. Too bad we pushed our buddy read of Homegoing because that could have counted for Africa!! Oh well, now you have it for 2025 😉
Good! Haha I couldn't resist trying it and it turned out to be a great way to see where my gaps are! Yes, Homegoing will be a good start and immediately filling in that blank spot! 😄
@@ellenmadebookclub for sure!! That will be great to instantly fill out a continent/country on the board! I kind of generally went through mine for 2024 and I think I met all of the diversity and continent requirements somehow and the only one I didn’t have on the board is the short story collection! So that’s better than expected haha
@@LibrariesandLattes That's amazing, good job! 😄 You could read a short story to complete it if you wanted to, you don't need a whole collection! (Not a requirement obviously, just saying! 😄)

Yeah I thought it was a fun exercise to do :D I bet you have more from neurodivergence and disability. It's a good way to see where your gaps are!
This is most helpful Ellen! I am also a fan of Madeline Miller! Can't wait for her next book.. she has been working on it for too long 😊
I agree! Do you know anything about a next release?
@ I’ve read she’s working on a book on Persephone.. that was about a year ago!
@@Uncommon_Reader Good things come to those who wait! 🥰
i dooont think i’ve ever read a book by an african author so that is a prompt i’m really looking forward to!

@@ellenmadebookclub that’s true!!! I am a bit of a perfectionist as you know so maybe I will do that just to complete it but we’ll see 😂
@ Do it! 😂
I want to read more authors from Oceania and Africa too
Yes! I had one author from Australia, but it was a fantasy series so it didn't count ^^
@@ellenmadebookclub I read poetry from Australia, not sure if that counts lol
@@TheLinguistsLibrary Absolutely!
