You can always tell when old commercials are pulled from sporting events: LOTS OF TIRE commercials.
It amazes me how much different people looked in the 70s.
They looked just like my parents.
Because there's no atrazine, DDT, or BPA, back then, 😢
At 10:34, in the TWA ad with Peter Sellers, the blonde with the headset on is Teri Garr.
So exciting to get some 1975 stuff. Pure gold, thank you🌼🌸👏👏👏
Hard to believe 1975 was nearly 50 years ago. 😯😮
1:10 The voice of Jean Shepherd; 10:34 Teri Garr and Peter Sellers
7:16 Len Gochman, a great v/o talent; 18:12 Morgan Freeman
0:27 Don Roberston; 5:47 Lesley Miller on the famous State Farm jingle

Who voiced the end of the Citicard ID? He was a familiar voice too . . .
@@wmbrown6 Yes, the voice on the Citicard tag is familiar but I'm coming up dry on a name.
Hank Simms @ 8:22 ?
@@zaq55 I don't think it is Hank Simms, but I don't recognize this voice.
@@brentmann2988 Gary Merrill.
The Buffalo Braves NBA Team, Later Moved To San Diego And Became The Clippers, Is Now The Los Angeles Clippers.
@mrgisob123 can you imagine, this little podunk team that started in Buffalo, moved out West to San Diego to wallow in obscurity, then toiled in anonymity in LA. Now, all these years later, the LA Clippers are going to get their own brand new palace in Inglewood, the Intuit Dome.
They’ve come a looong way, baby…
This was the year the Golden State Warriors pulled off the upset, beating the Bullets in the NBA Finals to win their first NBA Championship.
Even though Washington lost, they still had two more Finals appearances later in the '70s, including a title. The difference is that the now Wizards are still a joke today, and perhaps best known for being Michael Jordan's garbage time team, while the Warriors are one of the tentpole franchises of today's NBA, with a tentpole superstar leading the way.
@@pannoni8449 no one-even in the Bay Area-thought the Warriors would even get to the Finals that year. If I remember right, they couldn’t even play some of the Final games in the Warriors’ home arena because the building had been double-booked. So, for the Warriors to win the title was, for its time, one of the great upsets in sports history. Even with that title, NBA Basketball in Northern California was still very much an outpost & this region truly did not become relevant until the late 80s into the 90s.
Still more entertaining than the crap that's being shown on TV today.
The good old days of when major league sports were shown on a near nightly basis on OTA TV.
Absolutely. Commercials went entertaining and informative. You don’t see anything good I don’t need to hear about medication. I’m only in my 50s but you know what I’ve always learned about medication by seeing my doctor. If you need medicine, you go see your doctor.😊
WOW!!! Channel 2 New York from 1975!!! I wasn't even three years old yet at the time! (I was born on July 5.) Very weird game show themed commercial for the AMC Gremlin. Very nice CH2NY still photo IDs, including those two nice gentlemen & that nice elderly boat captain. Oh, Morgan Freeman was pretty good in that Sure deodorant commercial. Oh, that Special Olympics PSA was lovely! Thanks so much for putting this up. It's great!
I didn't know the VW Rabbit came out in 1975. I do know that as a teenager in the 1980s those cars were everywhere.
I'm from Buffalo but wasn't born until well after the Braves became the Clippers so it's rather weird to think that there was once an NBA team here that seemed to do pretty well.
The mid-70s Braves were fun to watch. They had Bob McAdoo, Randy Smith(one of history’s most underrated guards) and Gar Heard.
Notice how the commercials back then actually sold THE PRODUCT and not some stupid, unrelated, unfunny storyline?
5:09 - Long Distance - with Sid Caesar and Imogene Coca (stars of "Your Show of Shows").
Is this your idea of a good restaurant, dog killer? - Imogene Coca as Aunt Edna, National Lampoon's Vacation.
The Johnson's Baby Shampoo commercial at 14:53 features Stephen Collins
Havlicek throwing around the r-word before everything anyone ever said became offensive.
That's what we did.
Another quality upload!
It was great being 15 in 1975. We would be bussed to the local Ford dealer in drivers ed. We drove around a course in 1975 Ford Granadas, with governors on their throttles.
I was a day old at this time!!!
I was -2
Wow, 1975! Great find!
MORGAN FREEMAN at 18:43 for Sure!
18:41
Anything Morgan Freeman says is very trustworthy.
I'd trust Easy Reader's word on deodorant.
8:21 - Colt 45 - A re-creation of Buster Keaton's famous gag in "Steamboat Bill Jr.".
One of a series of commercials featuring legendary Canadian character actor & singer Billy Van. This one also features Redd Foxx.
I don't see this one. What's the time stamp?
these commercials are very bon.
That Asian lady in the Norelco coffee maker ad... she's cute. 😉
I was 17 on this date
How did you get these tapes at all - never mind in such excellent condition - when home recording was practically non-existent until the early 1980s?
Is that Morgan Freeman
Yes
11:21- Ed Reimers for Allstate.
That's a great deal in that Buick ad (17:42); you buy the tennis car, they give you Head. Can't beat that deal!
A man washed his hair with Johnson's Baby Shampoo...
Strange times those 70's. 🤨
