Classic Detroit commercials
Love these commercials from the 1970s. Please keep them coming.
rstyeast73, I was 8 years old, and couldn’t push a manual wheelchair and couldn’t use the knobs to change the channels on a TV because I have Osteogenesis Imperfecta (ex. Alex and Caleb from the Shriner’s commercials); so, I learned to tolerate a lot of shows (ex. Sci-fi, western, certain sports), but enjoyed the commercials.
10:42 The Radio Shack 150-in-1 Electronic Project Kit was one of the best Christmas presents I ever received! I'm not sure what year it was, but it would have been right around 1979 or so when I was 9 years old. I spent more time playing with that thing, building circuits and learning about electronics.
Thank you for uploading this and the others. I am huge fan of the 70's stuff so its nice to see more being added!
Ditto.
Junior Achievement is still active today.
Wanna make enemies at Christmas? Give them a Ronco gift...🤣
MEMORIES,MEMORIES,MEMORIES💛💛💛I JUST TURNED 5 AROUND THAT TIME😉😉
0:29 - Nowadays most people refer to their microwave oven as a popcorn machine...And we have NYPD Chief Frank Reagan for Close-Up toothpaste...Charlie Hustle and Ralph Furley for the Atari 2600...Regrettably, I don't know the names of the three beautiful women in the Tickle antiperspirant ad, but I do know they each were in lots of TV commercials in the late '70s and early '80s...I could be wrong, but I'm getting a serious "Up with People" vibe from those Young Detroiters...
That Kleenex ad is something else 😹
So was that JC Penney ad for night wear...😉
Whoever came up with the Coke commercial was brilliant. That's such a great image of random people taking a Coke and passing one along to someone else to share. Honestly, this is the whole Peace and Brotherhood thing, but not anywhere as sentimental and corny as a lot of other commercials would have sold it.
Man I was 3 yrs old.
AR-XA turntable at 3:48. (Acoustic Research)
I tell you what, that beach boys best of album and the ronco hits collection album came in handy when you wated all the hits in one place together. Now, all you do these days is make a playlist on your device from a music service provider.
Amélie Dubois (born July 6, 1979)
Tom Selleck at 9:50.
5:03 I'm going to the Nugent concert! Kinda figured.
8:11 is hilarious
Let me guess, from the newly renamed WDIV?
No the commercials are nothing but drug ads and beer commercials
They still had glorified ads to join the Navy & Army.
A rare commercial for a board game with Dick Van Dyke.
Ted Nugent before he became a MAGA crank.
