I completely agree the AWOL tapes were so special and still are. I would listen to them all the way to World Dance. Feel so lucky to have been raving 93 to 99. But the best years were 93 to 95 for sure. These people are legends and gave me the best times of my life. Thank you
My Best years were 92 to 94.. Going to world dance for my 1st time on the coach seeing those search lights light up the sky still gives me a buzz lol The 1993 Awol tapes I had were played to death when ever & where ever I could... Now at the age of 51 I can jump on youtube & listen to Hardcore/Jungle endlessly mainly in the car 🎶
Love the historical context of AWOL. as a young raver in the 90s. I got to experience this. Those who attended knows the vibezzz. Big up yourself for the upload. Got my headphones in couple rolled enjoying the vybez. 😤💨💨👊🏾💯💯
I miss that place. I remember being stood next to Goldie when Randall played Menace. He was going crazy. And the first time I heard Screwface and the whole place lost their minds. Or Subnation, Scottie...Valley of the Shadows....Renegade Terrorist....so many iconic tunes from that era. And then you'd have to stand by that massive fan in the corridor because it was so hot on the dancefloor. But then you'd have to rush back in because one of the DJs had just put on your mates' new tune... I'd love to go back in time to AWOL 93/94.
Listen Paradise club was big, tho a sweat box the floors catered for everyone! Plus down the road (from York way) so was literally paradise... 91/92 was when I raved there and loved it!
Had a Micky Finn & GQ tape from 94. It was played on a constant loop in my car for about 10 years. Then got a copy after the car was nicked. Then an mp3 after the tape broke. Now it's on RUclips. Can recite every one of G's lyrics.
Loved that place… went week in week out .. did get the motor turned over there ..fuckers cut all my battery leads.. 🥲…still went back !.. the line up was unbelievable…!!

GQ is a special MC. Many ruin a set very few actually improve it. G's a lyrical genius.
Used to be... says way too much these days

I was a kid in Manchester but I had some early awol packs. Wish I coukd have been involved but in my own way I was
Paradise club was the Mecca, everytime the DJ was on fire, even Darren Jay had to play well. Every DJ was on their "A Game" period
