I managed to get mine started by quick & dirty going up the keister with a bread-clip wire & spraying carb cleaner up there (not sure if I was supposed to do that). I left some ethanol-free gas in the tank thinking it was ok - only to find it wouldn’t start. After going up the keister, I siphoned out the gas - added some 4-month old gas & Seafoam - and it started. I ran it for a while, it surges when going off choke, but runs.
I’m gonna get some high end ethanol free gas and add more Seafoam, and hope that clears it up! I’ve barely used the thing.

MCGUYVER! Surging is bc the idle circuit is plugged! That hole is WAY TOO TINY! try and clean it but I strongly suggest you open it up with a micro drill bit so it doesn't clog so easy. Please stop leaving gas in the machine between seasons. That is the reason why the machine is having issues. Even though it is barely used still needs to be serviced. Please change the oil and service the rest of the machine as well.

Jason...Enjoyed the video I was swapping machines by prepping my summer lawn equipment for winter storage I pulled out my snowblower started without issue but it ran poorly.. I use fuel stabilizer and run all my gas powered machines dry before storage and year after year they run like a champ except the snowblower. I know I can clean the carb and I will but I went ahead and bought a new carb along with the fuel shut valve that has falied on this machine.. I dont seem to have much luck with this light use blower. it looks brand new.. I am going to try something different going forward and buy non ethenol fuel for all my small engines see if that makes any difference.. Stay Safe!

Mine ran great until I put her away last February. Tried to start it yesterday and wouldn't start...and the gas smelled sour. I watched a couple RUclips videos and did like I've done before. drained the fuel, ran cleaner through it, removed the carb and bowl and cleaned out everything as best I could. Put it all back together with good gas and she started up, but ran rough and even worse with the choke all the way off. Then I watched THIS video at (13:56 minutes) where you micro-drilled out the idle jet in that one black plastic screw and tried that. WOW! That worked amazing. Great call! Thanks!

Thanks a bunch Sir. First you video is crystal clear. No shakiness with camera, and explained / showed everything as simplistic can be. You would make a great small engine instructor. I have this same machine bought it last yr, and could not understand why it was not starting since I always 93 octane with stabilizer additive in all my small engine machines. I decided to see on youtube if there was any how to videos about this and found yours. I was also going to have the store pick up my unit, but am tired of paying them for a pick up fee. When you buy expensive lawn and garden equipment from a place they should not charge a customer a pick up fee cause being a business they get tax right offs their trucks anyway I still believe. I know mine was still under warranty, but did not want to pay that stupid pick up fee. Thanks again.

    • @pattayperformance
      @pattayperformance  Год назад

Even though your machine is still covered under warranty, this repair isn't. It is not the machine's fault you didn't run it out of fuel. Businesses can still write off their trucks to a certain extent. Nothing is free...
      Cost of Truck
      Insurance
      Fuel
      Maintenance
      Repairs
Paying Employee to pick up and drop off
We don't offer Free P/U and Del Either. We start at $25 and up. that fee hasn't changed in all the years of doing this. It is due for increase but trying our best to keep things consistent since NOTHING is promised with the current times.

I think I have two exact same snowblower. Mine does not start I pull out the spark plug and cleaned up black stuff. Then it starts. Great.
But a few minutes later, when I try to start it again it does not.
I look at the spark plug it has a little bit of black, I clean again, and then after a few pulls, it starts.

No but I think maybe switch out the factory torch plug to an NGK/Champion Equivalent.
My suggestion is with new plug…problem still persists…pull plug without cleaning to confirm it’s sparking.
Carbon build up on a spark plug could be
      Weak ignition (failing coil)
      Carb is over fueling

A few days ago, tried to start it for the first time this winter, that's when my situation (above) happened.
I just changed the oil (black looking) to fresh oil. Cleaned the Champion spark plug , but I didn't want to try it because seems like the first try works then subsequently won't. So I am waiting for the next snow fall, to try to start it (when I really need it)

You are better off buying a new carb and using it for parts. Keep that carb on the shelf sure if will come in handy.

Hello Jason, I was curious as to what weight Royal Purple oil that you use for your small engine stuff. Most of all the truck & tractor pullers within this area also use the Royal Purple oil for their very high dollar engines.

Today my father and I tried to start our snowblower. It is the exact same model as yours, we did what you showed, but it still won't start! Do you know why?
Edit: Now it somewhat starts, the light turns on to full beam, but then after 2 seconds it just turns off. Is it because the oil is too old?

      Confirm the key is in…
Did you try any diagnostic steps? What were they and what were the results?
      If not…
Squirt starter fluid into the carb and try to start or pull the spark plug squirt starter fluid into the hole, install plug and try and start.
If machine runs and dies, you have a fuel issue and need to clean the carb…must have missed a spot.
