Alright fellas, which of these 3 physiques are you choosing? Option A, athletic. Although you don’t have too much muscle, you are super lean and slender, making you very light and agile. With this physique you cannot bench more than 165, nor can you squat more than 225, but you are super fast and good at any sport you play. However, put a shirt on, and the 10 pounds of muscle you previously had, has now vanished away from existence. Option B, aesthetic. You have pretty much mastered the balance between strength and athleticism, and although you’re not huge, your Grandma still seems to believe that you played Steve Rogers in Captain America. With this physique you can now bench 225 and squat 315 but no more, and taking your shirt off at the beach has become significantly more rewarding. And finally option C, bodybuilder. Big, strong, lean, and aesthetic. You’ve got it all. And although you’re not necessarily shredded, you still have visible abs and are in relatively decent shape. With this physique you can bench 315 for reps, and squat 500, however you are significantly less athletic than the other 2, and maybe even a bit scary to people around you. So which are you choosing? Option A, athletic, option B, aesthetic, or Option C, bodybuilder? Let me know in the comments.

About Me: I started lifting at 17 years old in 2019, the summer before I entered my freshman year of college. I was a mere 120 pounds at 5'8, and my only goal was to gain weight. Since then I've bulked 5 times, reaching my heaviest at 206 pounds, and cut 4 times to a lowest of around 10% bodyfat. In 2025 I plan to compete in my first natural bodybuilding show. Using the knowledge I have acquired and continue to learn, my goal is to help all of you achieve your fitness goals and prove that no matter what stands in your way, hard work and consistency will always prevail! Option A for me. It's aesthetic, useful, not to much and doesn't need a hard discipline, trainings and alimentation to maintain it. Perfect balance and it's not too difficult to grow just a bit more muscles.
I respectfully disagree. If it were that easy to look athletic, then more people would. To be athletic DOES require hard discipline, trainings and alimentation period, there’s absolutely no way around it. It also requires a very strict diet for optimal performance. The physique is the byproduct of the training.
it is NOT easy to maintain an athletic build. You can't eat badly, you have to get consistent exercise, and you do need to be disciplined to maintain it.
@DJJunBuggIQI I have slightly above that build and I make a concerted effort to do so lol. Smart eating. Lifting 3 times a week and running 4 days a week up to 6 miles. It's easy to be cause I love it. But it took me YEARS to learn that lol. So, shit AINT easy.
If it was you'd see it on people more and you don't. There's dough boys everywhere.
@@Scorpion-lj9lguh it’s just leanness.
If you’re in maintenance, that’s it, that’s all you have to do. You can even eat bad foods as long as you’re not in a caloric surplus.
If you’re not in a surplus your body will not magically become fat. It’s also MUCH harder to lose muscle mass than anyone previously thought, even BIG guys only have to do 3 sets per muscle group PER WEEK to maintain their muscle and this was proven by multiple studies.
@@bingbong1767hard to get not hard to maintain
You’re running for health and endurance, it’s not doing anything for maintaining your physique.
If you’re not eating in a surplus you will not magically become fat, it just is not how any of this works.
99.9% of people do WAY more than they actually need to to maintain their physiques, the research has proven that even guys with HUGE muscles only need to do 3 SETS, per muscle group, PER WEEK to maintain their muscle mass.
Whatever makes you happy and makes you feel healthy and energized. Esthetically, I prefer athletic.
B. B is a good balance. You don't need to be the strongest person ever but you are stronger than the person who doesn't work out. You look more jacked. It is enough
I disagree, I wanna be the jackest one, the most massive mf in the universe
Aesthetic for sure. I like to keep up my flexibility and cardio on top of muscle strength.
Yes. Yes, I do need to be the strongest, baddest mf out there.
Option b
@@Michael-zt9ik u know u can still do that when u are jacked? look at heavyweights in the UFC who are massive and in other fight sports. a good example tho not as popular as UFC fighters is Alain Ngalani, a bodybuilder and fighter at the same time with insane flexibility and cardio. u can be jacked and still prioritize cardio and flexibility lol, and in turn that makes u superior in explosiveness and power compared to someone with the same agility at a much lighter weight

@@PetrikRoubal you're so right tbh. increase strength by training. increase size by eating in a caloric surplus. this is as simple as it gets, disregarding nuance. i'm not unaware. what i meant by my comment tho, which was obviously a joke, is that 9 out of 10 people i think will obviously and, honestly, accurately assume that the super lean guy who's not exactly small is a natural bodybuilder, and that the guy who's simply massive is maybe a powerlifter. my man is clearly finna eatin'

@GigiM_winx they're pretty peak jacked as far as NATURAL body builders go, I think you're thinking of pro's, who are all enhanced. I'm pretty flexible and I train mostly hypertophy/strength with cardio thrown in. If you think bodybuilding defaults to being stiff you need to check out Jujimufu lmao.

No normal person who started going to gym for health reasons continued in that way forever...There are only two possible outcomes..
Either you get so much into the lifestyle and start chasing more strength/size/both...
Or
You quit
@@Darwin_Somtoo Idk what kind of people you hang out with, but that's absolutely not the case. Many people don't start chasing anything in terms of size or strength. Most working folks don't care much about any size goals and don't have the time to go to the gym everyday anyway
@Darwin_Somtoo I've had an athletic build for 5 years. Never bothered to put on muscles cause its just slows me down when running and its a hassle to eat when maintaining muscle. Actually C is the healthiest for me, i don’t know about other people but I literally can not stay in A or B without starving every day.
And I’m not talking about eating trash food, I’m talking about literally eating gels that food but still stopping before I’m full every meal and be on a constant I’m hungry mood 24/7. I can have a happy life being C, my genetics towards building muscle are pretty good, I build it surprisingly fast, and when I say surprisingly fast, I mean it, the nutritionist following my progress asked me if I was taking any performance enhancing drugs because of how out of charts my my natural muscle gain was, I told her of course I wasn’t (because I’m not and never will) I’m also pretty good at maintaining muscle, some friends of mine have 1 months of vacations and get visible muscle loss, their metabolism is so aggressive that it literally eats them when not working out and forcing it to not destroy the muscles.
I’m the opposite I don’t loose muscle but I gain fat like crazy, bulking is a nightmare for me, no matter how clean I try to bulk using boiled chicken, boiled vegetables and boiled white rice just in the right amounts to hit my macros, with nothing Ales’s but that on my diet.
I still gain equal amounts of muscle mass and body fat after each bulk. And have to cut the fat afterwards, it scares me to think what would happens to me if I tried a dirty bulk.
Because of all of this, I can kind of look like C without a huge effort (maybe slightly less abs my abs don’t really show till I’m under 8%)
