I read an interview with Tiffany Grant that the AV director wanted to take second half of this series into a darker direction so he ordered that most of the humor had to be cut out. That change probably came from his decision.
@wdcain1 dective conan did that too in one episode the English dub made the victim father who sort to avenge his son who commited sucide an unsympathetic victim and the victim more sympathetic while the orginal Japanese dub did the opposite I like the original version
