I think this is the tour I went to see him in Philadelphia. Back in those days, if you wanted a good seat, you had to wait in line twice -- first to get a wristband, then wristband holders got to the front of the line to buy tickets on the day ticket sales opened. I went to the Spectrum to wait in line both times, and only got 14th row on the floor. I was a huge TP fan, went by myself. I wanted to get to the stage. When they played this song, it was toward the end of the concert -- and the place went nuts. Knowing it was now or never, I made a dash for the front row, and made it. Could read the writing on Mike Campbell's pick, then Tom came over and played right to me. I was 18. Never saw him play again. I love him so much. What a memory.
My dad introduced me when I was about 4 years old, playing "Full moon fever" and "Inte the great wide open" in the car :) Around the end of 80s and beginning of the 90s.
This is an excellent song. Only 65 likes. Thank God there is no dislikes. I never sit down at a TP&THB's concert. And am usually singing along to every song.
Cette époque du rock et fini cest striste M j'ai vue la plus part des grands groupes comme les stones bowie led zeppelin iggy pop etc etc dans les années 70 80 c'était autre chose de vraie concert
Does that bass line sound familiar to any of you other old rockers? Like something from the Rolling Stones in 1964? ruclips.net/video/kCQATaeTRGk/видео.html
When I feel a little lonely and downhearted, I need to hear Tom Petty and the Heartreakers. It makes me feel better inside. 💘

Awwww! What a GREAT story! You deserved that! I saw him 3 or 4 times but never got to see him this young or close enough to see his smile.
I saw him pretty close up on RUclips. Lol but that's about it. You lucky ☘️
I bet you were beautiful and probably still are. That is an Isley Brothers song originally, isn't it?

Guaranteed that the drummer was having a good time on this one. At 6:00 is how a snare drum should sound...perfect turning.
