    Honestly I’ve struggled so much with this scenario, because guest stay for months and never return once they leave, so you are always building new coasters and rides. But hey I had fun seeing how you did it.

    Was looking forward to seeing how you tackled this scenario! I had to try it twice, but had fun playing around with a 'jellybean house' style of harbour town in my successful playthrough. The tried and true method of: build high-intensity coasters and jack up the entrance fee seems to work well as an initial cash flow (and keeping guests from turning into vandals from complaining about not having applicable rides). Another way of sustaining your income afterwards is cranking up the prices of food, drinks, and souvenirs in the stalls.

    Biscayne Beach was my least favorite scenario. As someone who's used pay-per-ride on every single scenario up to this point, Biscayne Beach was a huge pain. At first I was nearly bankrupt, which I took two loans to fix - I built two Exciting coasters and some other flat rides - and then the next problem was that I wasn't charging as much for admission as I possibly could. I thought that if I raised the admission price from $25 the Satisfaction rating would go down and the guests would be unhappier. This was actually the opposite; the Satisfaction rating went up, and I gained +4,000 in the first month of charging $60 for admission. However, the next few months left my income to slump at a consistent -100 per month; I was hovering around 580 guests and with no other options and a few thousand in the bank I built a Double Ferris Wheel. This pushed me over the guest goal and I won the scenario. Normally, after completing a scenario's goals, I'll try and use up all the possible land (including purchasable land) for fun; but with Biscayne Beach, I refused to do this as it would be impossible with only $2,000 to spare.

  • @GretgorPooper

    This scenario was so freaking hard! Not being able to charge for rides was a nightmare. I narrowly managed to hold 600 guests for a month, and won the scenario. Funny thing is I went bankrupt shortly afterwards. Well, doesn't matter, at least I won the scenario, lol.

  • @LuisRdzG10

    I'm watching the video and hear at the beginning of it: "I'm gonna make the wooden coaster first as a moneymaker".
    and me just saying: "oh poor Silvarret, he hasn't figured out yet that all rides are free" lol
    Oh.. well my thoughts on your park, I think you should make a Log Flume. They are super popular in this scenario because of the heat, and I don't see benches on the end of the park (where deliveries building is), and you need at least 2 staff rooms, is way too far from the entrance, you can keep the area clean with only 3-4 janitors

    In the USA, the most common name for the twister-type ride in this game is called the "Scrambler" which is the ride model made by the US ride manufacturer Eli Bridge. Many, many parks and carnivals over here have this ride. So I'm guessing that when the original RCT was made, they used the placeholder name of "Scrambled Eggs" to avoid trademark/copyright issues.

    • @Silvarret
      @Silvarret  5 лет назад +1

      Didn't know that, but that totally makes sense. Come think of it, the ride is only known as "Scrambled Eggs" in the US, in the UK it was the "twist" - so it definitely seems like they were trying for some cultural name recognition there!

    Reaching time goals becomes easier towards the latter part of the campaign imo, because the time goals are more generous. 3 years becomes pretty common from now on, and one scenario even gives you 5. So there will be more opportunities to get your party hat out. Or it's just because I got better as I progressed through the campaign.
    Either way, good park as always.

    For the experiences rating the only way you can really "increase" it without using the closing the park exploit is by removing the guests of all their money, but even on a per-ride charge basis it guests can spend upwards of 1.5 in-game years in the park and still have enough money to ride your biggest ride one more time.

  • @464279953
    @464279953 5 лет назад

    To get your experiance rating up, you could also start a campaign for the park. It boosts the visitors over a period of time, but after that, the visitor number drops again. I would consider this a legit way to get rid of all the "older" park guests and to make some more money.

    Man this puts my Biscayne Beach to shame. This looks great! Would be awesome if you could upload the save or some blueprints. I love the food court building. Also what is your strategy for dealing with Vandals? You never seem to have a problem with them.

    • @Silvarret
      @Silvarret  5 лет назад

      Hmm, good idea! I should start uploading more blueprints in general.
      As for the vandals - I noticed that satisfying guests' demands is key. I got most vandals when I didn't have any thrilling or exciting rides. Also, lots of mechanics and security guards help.

    English speakers hate English too. The word, “cay,” comes from the Spanish word, “cayo,” meaning, “small island.” It gets really confusing when people spell it, “quay,” like in Cities: Skylines. That spelling comes from the French word, “kai,” meaning, “sand bank.” We also have islands off the southern tip of Florida called, “The Keys.” It’s a wonder our language works at all.

    "Batavia Cay" is pronounced /kei/ ("kay"), though it has the alternative pronunciation /ki:/ ("kee"). People in the comments might have been getting it confused with the word "quay", which is always pronounced /ki:/. So you were pronouncing it right all along!

    • @Silvarret
      @Silvarret  5 лет назад +2

      Ah, nevermind then. Yeah, someone else commented that both pronunciations are acceptable. I think "kay" sounds nicer though. I knew about "quay", although only because I messed that one up in my Cities: Skylines series haha. Ohhh English, if only you were phonetically consistent.

    Are you sure it's your Blue Yeti and not your recording software you're using? I never had problems with my BY - least of all it stoping the recording. If it stops recording in the BY the red light would start flashing. So maybe look into your editing software? Maybe it goes into a sleep mood after x amount of time?

  • @Codraroll
    @Codraroll 5 лет назад

    As you can see, pay-per-entrance is not necessarily more difficult than pay-per-ride. You get lots of money up front, which allows you to build more rides, which pull in more people, making even more money. This means that investments pay off *very* quickly.
    Notice at around 13:30, you have some $12,000 in the bank (October Year 1), and you start losing money after the initial burst of guests. You then build a Mini Coaster, a Skyfall and a Carousel, spending around $6000 or so until 15:50 (March Year 2). By 16:40 (May Year 2) you've made back $12,000 from that investment, and the April profits *alone* are more than you spent on the three rides. Because every new guest you attract to the park isn't going to stand in line to pay $5 to ride a flat ride, they pay $60 and then go to get a park map or a souvenir or something.
    Pay-per-entrance makes most scenarios quite a bit easier, since you get into this positive feedback loop of attracting guests - making money - building rides - attracting guests. If you ever struggle in a scenario, try it out. It trivializes challenging scenarios such as Orchard Acres or Kaiserberg, for instance.

    In America we say "Key" as spelled "Key" however google said: "Cay, also spelled key, small, low island, usually sandy, situated on a coral reef platform. Such islands are commonly referred to as keys in Florida and parts of the Caribbean. Sand cays are usually built on the edge of the coral platform, opposite the direction from which the prevailing winds blow." So a Key and a Cay (different words of different pronunciation) mean roughly the same thing, but aren't. And the difference in pronunciation and definition seems to be a regional thing.... Classic case of English unnecessarily having multiple words with similar definition. Whether you say "Caye" "Key" or "quay" we know what you mean.

    As always a scenario played in a realistic manner. You've built the coasters with a small footprint and based on a specific side of the park. Is it possible in a RL-park to have a coaster who uses the full width of the park? Just keeping some space left in the height of the coaster to get path underneath it. Is that unnatural or could it be possible in a RL-park?
