    Telekinesis is a very strong spell for a lore bard, as the enemy has to make an ability check which cutting words can use to penalize.

    Just to avoid confusion for newer players, you did keep slipping into terminology for wizards: "Prepare," "book," "Spellbook." Bards are known spell casters, so no books and no preparing of spells.

    Hi new player here, i never considered Aura of Vitality but yeah it sounds amazing to use out of combat to patch up the entire party with just ONE spell slot instead of casting Healing Word over and over, i'll deffinitly remember it for when i make my first bard as an out-of-combat-must-have spell :D

    “The wandering problem solvers” fixing the problems Lords and Ladies need fixed before helping kings and queens.
    Your Lore bard insights we’re definitely worth reviewing for spell choice alone.

      @@Now-gn1vk depends on your bard and what you feel is missing. 1 level of hexblade warlock is great for martial bards. @@Now-gn1vk well bards, especially lore bards, already have heaps of support options. I will say, divine soul sorcerer gives you access to cleric cantrips like guidance, and a couple of 1st level spells that you can upcast while still only needing Charisma for spellcasting, plus at least 1 damage dealing sorcerer cantrip (something the bard severely lacks).
      If having a decent wisdom is fine with you, maybe look at the cleric subclasses from Tasha's.
      The Peace domain cleric for the emboldening bond feature, which improves with proficiency bonus so great to get at any level. Or the Twilight domain for martial weapon and heavy armor proficiency as well as improved darkvision for you and sometimes your allies, as well as giving someone advantage on initiative checks whenever you want.

    One thing I find hilarious about Magical Secrets, as an ability, is that it allows a Lore Bard to become a "combo machine" at almost any point in the game, provided the DM offers the player latitude here.
    Examples Include...
    6th level: Nystul's Magic Aura + Gaseous Form.
    Have Nystul's Magic Aura make it so you appear as a nonmagical mist to divination spells and effects, by setting False Aura to "nonmagical" and by setting Mask to the "mist creature type". With the DM's permission, the DM may allow you to have the spell's Mask ability to be set to a setting where the target does not actually reveal (or give off) a creature type.
    After that's, Gaseous Form can be used to turn the target (presumably you) into a hazy foggy mist.
    The intention here is to pass yourself off as a nonmagical mist, which is great for infiltration, especially in foggy/hazy areas.
    (It's even better, if allowed by the DM, for entering an enemy's physical body and causing it to explode when you enter into their lungs and then drop concentration on Gaseous Form. If the DM allows you to pull this off, make sure to ham it up with a Shang Tsung impression for comedic effect, then buy'em dinner afterwards for messing up their carefully prepped BBEG fight.)
    10th level: Druidcraft + Fabricate.
    Druidcraft + Fabricate + Plant Growth will turn any plot of land that the PC owns, in-game, into an economic empire within a short period of time, if done properly with DM approval and oversight.
    Plant Growth is available as a 3rd spell on the Bard list, which means that starting at 10th level, a Lore Bard, by themselves, could generate a near-infinite resource of sellable goods, as long as the final product is a plant-based product that can be grown in the ground.
    Example seeds can include: Cotton, Hemp, Flax, Ginger Root, various spice roots, vegetables, etc. If it can be grown in the ground, then it can be "item dupe glitched" with this trick.
    If memory serves me right, DnD Shorts did a video on this exact maneuver not too long ago.
    14th: Wall of Force (or Forcecage) + Sickening Radiance.
    Crowd control on crack cocaine? Sure, why not. Yes please.
    If the DM doesn't allow the above-mentioned trick, or likes railroading your plans because they're mean-spirited and sick of your shenanigans, then picking up Globe of Invulnerability, and using it in combination with Counterspell (if picked up earlier as a Magical Secret), is also a good backup option.
    {Telling BBEG's "No" always feels good.}
    18th: Wish + Simulacrum.
    Lol wat. As if the combos that were being done earlier weren't funny enough. (I don't think I need to explain this one, as it's been explained elsewhere numerous times.)

    Im playing a half orc lore bard. With her race she gets intimation As a proficiency Just for being a half ork. I gave her the Is entertainer background. Because she was raised in a circus. But it also gives her a proficiency in performance and acrobatics. Then I choose three proficiencies. I gave her a persuasion, Deception, and stealth. I allocated most of my points to charisma and dex. And let the racial stats bolster my strength and constitution. I put expertise into performance and persuasion At third level. Chose college of lore at fourth level. Got to choose another three skills to be proficient in. Which for that I chose slide of hand survival in perception. With this build. I'm proficient in half of the skills on the character sheet. All the charima skills all the dexterity skills and a few i thought to be useful at level 3. And I get the flavor of being a half ork bard. It feels busted but my dm allowed it.

    Very good job with this video. I just started a campaign with a Bard2 Warlock Hexblade2.... im going Lore asap... reason for my hexblade is because my dm has had a fascination with taking forever with long rests, while getting a short rest is limited to 2 times in a day at the table to discourage coffee locks. This is the first time i have ever considered not using viscious mockery .... and will be screaming out insults while doing eldritch blasts.... having bonus actions that really matter will be sweet... do you have any spell suggestions in my hexblade side that would be better than hex and protection from g/e?

    • @simondiamond9628
      @simondiamond9628 2 года назад

      You'd basically have to make that choice (between Aid & Aura of Vitality) at either 6th or 10th level, when you take the spell initially as a Magical Secret.
      If Aid is chosen at level 6 as a Magical Secret, then that would replace your choice for Aura of Vitality.
