The Afton ending basically says “Nothing mattered”.
The children are still suffering. NONE of them were set free. Afton had returned in a physical form.
Security Breach literally undoes the ENTIRE franchise. I’ve never realized how much I hate that until now.

@@nonsensicalhumanoid the thing is, while that line is spoken it shows fnaf 4, of all games. A game that was supposed to be a nightmare. How would Fazbear Entertainment even know that those nightmares took place if we are supposed to believe the Afton family actually existed in this universe?
What, did they ask the crying child about the Nightmare animatronics in his hospital bed? It makes no sense.
I'm still very skeptical that Security Breach was even written by Scott at all. Help Wanted was supposed to be a reboot, in another universe where none of the Afton story happened. It's clear that it was Scott's intent.
Trying to make it a sequel makes absolutely no logical sense and it seems to me like Scott ditched the development of Security Breach with the whole retirement thing and someone else tried to rewrite the story into a sequel, and failed.

I adore Henry's monologue because it's just so raw with emotion. You can feel everything he's gone through and his pain in how he now knows what William did. You can feel the sheer anger and sorrow in his voice while he still manages to sound monotone. It really gives you insight to not just his character but how deeply he's been affected by his "old friend's" actions. The betrayal he conveys while wishing William the absolute worst while simultaneously seeming to understand that none of this was Michael's fault (and that, if anything, Michael was another victim, too) really makes me like Henry.

It's abrupt, anticlimactic, brings up a ton of questions, explains absolutely nothing, is unfinished, wastes a ton of potential that should've been used elsewhere and only looks pretty to compensate. Not only does Glitchtrap never show up (PQ1 doesn't count since it's just the minigame from the Help Wanted port), but Gregory _in-universe_ happens to stop in his tracks to play an arcade game while he's running for his life and that happens to free Vanessa. The ending cutscene shows him using the arcade game, so that's actually what happens.
No convincing Vanessa to fight against Glitchtrap's influence. Just play an arcade game and she's free to go. On top of this, because Afton's presence was so underutilized the quote-on-quote "best ending" never even acknowledges him hanging out in the basement, meaning he gets away completely unscathed.

Nowhere to Run is the best theme in the game, I'll say it again.
It's the perfect backdrop for Henry's sorrowful monologue. The build up of each note and chord, the violent pummeling hitting your ears in the background, the sounds of harsh metallic slams combined with sirens in the background.
It perfectly encapsulates everything the FNAF6 ending stands for. Henry made sure that there's nowhere to run, and not a single place for even the crafty William Afton to hide. Nobody is escaping the building on his watch.

Watch your 6 is also very good its the song that plays when you go to the secret room and have to defend against Ennard. To me i feel like Venta Black would be a good theme for William Afton in general its a song that plays when you are witnessing all of his creations at their worst when they want to kill you the most (20/20/20/20 mode) its the perfect song to be playing as your dealing with the results of the crimes he has committed.

I am honestly going to disagree with the "saving Freddy with the car battery" ending being so low *not* based on anything specific that really happens in the ending, but instead because it gives the middle finger the "wait, but he could have done X to save Y" trope I get so frustrated at so many stories for lazilly ignoring, and, like, that alone is at least worth it being above the check endings, even by your self prescribed cold heart to this ending.
Like, I get that a lot of that ending is stupid, but the fact they actually both acknowledged there was an obvious way to save Freddy, then fucking did it, is at least above the endings that are just checks, and definitely above SB princess quest.

    Top 5 endings
    1. Fnaf 6 canon: do I really need to explain?
    2. Sl Scoop: The fact the animatronics not only took themselves apart and combined, tricked you all the five nights but scoop your insides out and wears your skin as a suit is badass
    3. Happiest day: The music is great and would have been a great ending if fnaf ended after fnaf3
    4. Sl location fake ending: Seeing Ennard unnervingly crawling towards you is just brilliant.
    5. Pizza Party: Becoming freddy on stage while springtrap is dancing is so unnerving.
    Worst ending
Afton ending: Do i need to explai- actually you know what I am going to explain. I absolutely despise the fact that springtrap is back again love the memes, hate the practice of it. How many times is he going to die and then come back again. I didn’t mind him as glitch trap because it didn’t really interpret him as the real William afton but thanks to security breach I don’t think that anymore and I hate it I was excited for a new era of Fnaf hey I was even one of the people that believe there was gonna be a new era of Fnaf but too bad security bridge slaps you in the face with this absolutely atrocious ending oh and not only that not only is spring trap back but also Ennard?! Actually I’m not pissed off about that Ennard fun time Freddy, Funtime foxy and ballora because I wish we had more of Ennard what I am pissed off about is that it’s implied that old spirits that were put to rest before or a part of it….. Why.

Great video! In my opinion, much of FNAF’s narrative concerns itself with the overarching mystery and attempts to cram everything into a timeline of events. In doing so, I think it often neglects its characters. It doesn’t give them a lot in the way of actual characterization or substance outside of their functional role in the plot. The reason why I love that Pizzeria Simulator ending so much is because the characters feel like people, especially Henry. They feel like they’re driving the story and not the other way around. So I completely agree with you ranking that ending as your number one!

I feel like on a meta-level the old man consequences ending is kind of a way of saying that the series is over and that there’s really nothing left. The children besides Evan/Joseph are free and Afton is rotting in hell like he deserves. There’s really no way for the series to go forward, so it’s for the best you just leave the souls of the characters to rest and accept the series has ended. It kind of reminds me of how the pacifist ending in undertale feels so satisfying that you really don’t want to reset it
Of course this makes it kinda worse that the series did continue onwards, especially after the satisfying conclusion of both, as well as Steel Wool’s mishandling of the games. They should’ve just let the demon to his demons

I think ultimate custom night was a great final game, because while PS was closure, seeing William's eternal purgatory and having both the satisfaction and sadness of knowing it's Golden Freddy worked for me, and also the fun of seeing every character in a game that I can play against was fun, and it worked because UCN's lore was explaining it's own lore, not a greater theme, on a different note, while I think FNAF VR is a good game, I think it would've worked better if Glitchtrap wasn't 'freed' and we instead just got that haunting scene of being a dead child, and FNAF VR was originally a "this is a new start with Vanny, these are original characters, the old ones present are simply a means of bringing FNAF to VR but they hold no lore", but then SB showed up and just chucked everything out the window, I don't mind FNAF still going, but ruining the lore of the entire series over a shitty boss fight and just a more fucked up character model wasn't worth it, and I'm just banking on Scott announcing it non-canon to the franchise and having Steelwool fix it up and resend it out, because a free-roam game is simply new territory, and I don't like the childishness, but I would handle it if the lore and gameplay were good, but there not, the only thing I enjoyed about SB was the Roxanne boss fight, and the only reason I like it is because it was the only part of SB that held even a small amount of genuine terror for me, everything else was just stress or agitation

I can get why they decided to keep the series going but having the Afton Ending in Security Breach basically undo everything from the FNaF 6 ending is so unsatisfying. They should’ve just stuck with Gitchtrap being a “new”
Version of Afton and make Vanny the new antagonist. But nope, Vanny barely appears in SB and when she does she does do much

Another fab video! I agree with your take on the box ending. I think it's awesome and weird and abstract and so different. I also think personally my #1 is the pizza party from help wanted. Made me feel nauseous the first time I saw it. The idea of being one of the missing child...so freaky. So well done.

I personally enjoy the fnaf 6 true ending because it has lots of lore in it, as well as well as telling us who the puppet truly is. Also, the 'beep' connection terminated sound to this day give me goosebumps, even though the game's been out for like 4 and a half years

Fnaf 6 was where my interest of the franchise peaked. It was like a poem of everything that had came before. The ending would have been a perfect sum up to the franchise (before the dark times)

I’ve always considered the happiest day ending of FNAF 3 to be the best one, purely because it ends the story so neat and perfectly and just seeing those empty masks with the piano in the back genuinely stays emotional to me. The true ending of pizzeria simulator is absolutely fantastic, but to me that’s a case of it being the absolute best ending that they can have after the absolute mess of a story spawned off sister location and the lore that’s still a nightmare to sort.

I just got to the point where you mentioned the pizza ending in help wanted. I haven't listened to you actually talk about it yet, but I listen to your first sentence and I can't help but agree.
I feel like I could literally talk for at least 10 minutes about how scary that ending is. Firstly, the level you have to get through is an amazing finale and very creative. In my opinion. It truly is amazed, but it doesn't really feel like one. It feels like every door you go through could literally have anything on the other side. Every time I opened a door, I was half expecting to find myself on a conveyor belt leading straight to my doom.
Nevertheless, you finally find the hidden door that leads you to the ending, with you going into event and then having to climb up. You then finding yourself in a lonely but small room with some cake and pizza, before giant bunny man comes out of nowhere from behind the curtain and gently motions at you to follow him. It then phased a black and you find yourself trapped in animatronic suit with the Bunny man. Stretching his arms out like he's flying, and doesn't give the slightest crap in the world, is the most metal thing I've seen.

My hope is that the Steel Wool games really dig into the meta of "remakes, legacy and Fandom interpretation" a la FFVII remake.
With that in mind, I see glitchtrap as a representation of Afton's legacy and how the Fandom may have perceived him, not literally William Afton being brought back to life. Also like another commenter said, it's the kids that Vanny killed haunting the Blob, and not the other ones, and the real William Afton is still very much in hell.
But I do agree that the game needs to outright say this or allude to it, instead of being convoluted and cryptic for no reason, like the series has a history of doing. And I also realize It might "not be that deep" and I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt because I like meta stories.

i like to imagine that fnaf ended when everyone burnt at the end of fnaf 6. this ending (as well as the happiest day ending from fnaf 3) perfectly concludes the story, finally letting the souls rest, ending fazbear entertainment's reign, all with an absolutely (revealing and) badass monologue from Henry himself.
and although i think everygame after fnaf 6 is unnecessary, i do think that UCN is fine, if you think of it more like a spinoff game, as an epilogue to William Afton suffering after "getting swalled whole by the darkest pit of hell". (and also concludes Cassidy/Golden Freddy's story with the old man consequences ending.)
Help Wanted? unnecessary. needlessly complicated the story, and brought William Afton back (WHEN HE"S SUPPOSED TO BE DEAD ALREADY, fuck me). and dont even get me started on Security Breach; although i dont think i have to, since you (rightfully) shat on it enough in this video alone
but yes, just like you (at 30:30), i too, have also come to pretend that the completion ending of pizzeria sim is the true ending of fnaf, and just pretend like the other games either didnt happen or are just some continuation in an alternate timeline.
    great video, Th3Badd3st.
    -
    TL:DR
i like to pretend that fnaf truly ended once Henry burnt everyone and everything at the end of fnaf 6. the other games just kinda ruined this really epic ending, and so ive just come to imagine that the games post pizzeria sim are just part of some alternate timeline lol

What is hilarious about pizzeria simulator is that the entire community had such low expectations for the game since they expected to have a sequel to sister location and thought it would be a ‘spinoff’. However the fnaf developers worked hard and proved everyone wrong by making a fun ,quick but canon tycoon type game. I remember that every was complaining saying “Where is the lore?” If only they had known…

    Dragon ball ended in Z
    And FNAF ended in UCN

  • @ShadowLinkxMaster

What makes the Completion ending in FFPS so satisfying is the sense of finality during the cutscene. Time and time again we’ve felt that the series was coming to an end, but then we get a whole new game. The monologue didn’t feel like we were ending a chapter, we have reached the end of the book at long last. Really sucks that it wasn’t stopped there, or at least keep everything afterward non-canon. Oh well.

25:14 You are so right! This is where I saw all the lost potential in the series. The children, the spirits, the people… How did they cope with such a uniquely tragic situation?
We almost hear nothing about it, much less anything about William’s true motivations which started all of this! I actually began writing a security breach fanfic that will explore some of it because I was so upset with how little story wise we got… (The fic is called Into The Breach if anyone is interested…) Self insert main character, but because of sheer coincidence she gets glimpses into the other major characters via the spirits and Glitchtrap messing with her head.
Speaking of Afton… To me, nothing he does in the story ever makes sense, because we have no idea what his emotions are. William is played like a prop more than a character and he is one of the most human characters we get. He is just cruel murderer villain stand in and it sucks. I wanted to actually understand why he suddenly decided to put so much time and effort into making pristine robots for children he killed to possess.
This process is clearly somehow almost sacred to him, to the point he literally put his two youngest kids through it!!! There is so much more in this story that it dragged me back into the community just to do it justice, and I hope I do…

I honestly thought the bite of ‘83 was the best ending… until i thought about it, and it really wasnt an ending in the sense that it put one’s story to rest, it actually initiated another sequence that should be theorized and explained, unlike the happiest day which clearly showed what happened at the end of the events. But after all, the completion ending was such an amazing rest to the game that i consider sb not to be cannon, not even 1 ending made sense or even relate to anything that happened during the previous 8 installments

I hate the Fire/Unmasked Ending as much as the Afton ending for a few reasons. Using fire as a way to destroy a place just feels redundant now, and FNAF 6 just did it better coupled with Henry's cold-hearted speech. Another reason is the comic style of the whole damn thing just made it underwhelming. Also, how dare they shoehorn Vanny in an ending when she has done nothing in the games so far :/
    Just disappointing really

27:56 don’t understand why everyone one says that gf isn’t here. In the bad ending he is behind everyone, and can be seen only by the lights. In this scene, the light are off. So he is still there, but can’t be seen. I think if it was like he is the only who wasn’t freed, then I think he would be the only with the lights like in bad ending. And by the way, in the minigame nothing also shows that gf has a some different fate than others, his mask falling down with the same speed as others, only puppet’s mask falls slower. So I think there’s nothing special to him, his mask is also lying in the shadow behind others

Also honestly SB was a letdown but mostly bc it was released entirely unfinished. the scrapped plots, voice lines, events, etc were all INFINITELY more intriguing than what we got.
