I really like the simplicity of my SR5. There is always something bigger and better (usually more expensive as well) out there. Less complexity is not always a bad thing.
i have a 2021 sr5 4x4 and love it, i do all my oil changes even tranny dif and transfer case, the onlt thing i did was get a little more thread tires for slush and mud.I still have the original battery 4years running.
It depends on the individual's budget to deciding on which Tacoma trim level and features are important to them. The SR5 has excellent fuel economy too.
I get 24.5 driving to work, but when I go camping or vacation I'm going quick and average 18 maybe to get there quick. Over all the four years with my 2021 have been flawless. Still has original battery
I recently ordered a double cab SR5 should get it in Jan or Feb. I don’t do any off-roading at all and I’m looking for a reliable daily that can handle the snowy winter roads of eastern Canada. Also since gas prices are wild I could do without aggressive off-road tires that makes fuel econ. worse and wear quickly on paved roads. I think everyone has a purpose for a Tacoma and there a Tacoma for everyones purpose!
Great comments! I love my 2018 Taco SR5 4x2. I didn’t get the 4x4 just because I didn’t need it. I live in south Louisiana and we hardly ever have snow, but when we do, it’s only about a half an inch! I would like to put some All Terrain tires but don’t want or need Off Road tires. Enjoy your truck!
I love my 2018 SR5, it is my daily! I like the heading lights on the TRD just because of the les, but it’s just a fashion thing. For off roading, I was my 2019 1794.
I Love my 2018 SR5 2wd access cab with KO2's and Bilstein 5100's all around with 2" front lift to level truck! I lost my fuel economy, but the truck looks SICK!
a brand new SR5 4x4 costs over 30k. My Sport 4x4 cost me 35k. No where near a 25k difference, unless you're quoting Facebook marketplace Pro's during covid when stupid people were asking 60k, and not getting it.
Diode Dynamics SS3 MAX in yellow!! Tremendous fogs and 15% off for holiday. Adjust properly and you will hate driving without them. my '20 OR (Voodoo Blue) has the mirror turn signals without a tech package.
Lasfit makes a switchback l.e.d. that starts out bright white then when you nit the switch it turns amber hit the switch again and it goes back to white they say the amber is great in heavy snow and rain I just put mine in and there awesome alittle pricy ar 100 bucks but I think there worth it good luck
For my purposes I wouldn't even consider a tacoma without a locking diff.....I would've picked up a SR5 Trail Edition if they had it back in 2020 when I was in the market...I ending up getting the TRD OR as it was the least expensive trim with a locking diff....just me tho..
They got a sr5 trail edition but the sr5 is good if you're not planning on doing any extreme off roading but it's nice a good daily driver but all you got to do is throw on the Toyota TRD lift and some 33's and it'll go the same places as the off road or TRD pro
My SR5 has black interior with orange door and dash inserts. I’ve never seen that combo before or since, but I do like it. I just wish the inserts were red.
I honestly knew what the SR5 does and doesn't have. I just had to replace my 2017 TRD SPORT that was totalled in an accident. We went back to the TRD SPORT as a replacement (2019). I just didn't like the SR5 package honestly after having the sport already.
Hey, I’m sorry you don’t like your SR5, but I have one and I’m enjoying it tremendously. Yes, I would like to have the TRD Sport, but, more money and I didn’t need all the extras. Not saying I wouldn’t want them, but…. If you want the Amber Fog Lamps, I ordered some LED Fog Lamps off Amazon for an extremely reasonable price. Some manufactures offer both, Amber and Bright White. I chose the Bright White just because I like them better. I’ve also changed out my high beams, license place lights, and all my interior lighting for LED Bright White. I did buy LED Amber Day Time Running Lights/turn signals but switched back to the regular Amber bulbs. The regular ones appeared to be brighter, but the biggest issue I had was that the LED’s did a Hyper flash and the parts store told me that I needed to buy a 20 connector (2 of them actually) in order for the light to blink at the regular timing. Maybe I just bought the wrong LED’s to start with. I’ve done some other MODs like, added running boards, blacked out lettering, silver inserts on the black glove box, blacked out lettering on the tail gate, and Weathertech window visors. I’m planning on getting a hard, folding bed cover, mud flaps and eventually getting a more aggressive All Terrain tires. Other than that, I can’t think of anything else I want to do. I’m not going to lift the truck or change out the grill, I’m satisfied with the way they are now..
Models depends on the specification of the manufacturer and it's accessories and the country where it is produce and if you don't like Toyota don't buy it and if you want a hi end pick up truck go for what you like best
Aing, what I’m curious about is, why did you buy the SR5 if you’re so disappointed with it. Did you not talk to your salesman and ask what options were and were not available on that trim level? Was that the only trim level available due to all the shortage crap? Did you not do your own research? I bought a used 2018 SR5 4x2 last July, it only had 15K on it (that’s averages out to be about 5 grand A YEAR! Got it for a descent price to. The truck was pristine and in excellent condition. I honestly don’t know why the first owner even sold it, unless they wanted to upgrade to a higher trim level. But I’m glad that I found it! I’ve done several modest MODs and want to do some more, but I still love the truck and I’m sorry you don’t like yours, I just can’t figure out why you bought it if you wanted one of the TRD editions.
I have a 2020 Sport4x4 because my first Tacoma, a 2012 was a Sport and it did everything I needed it to do. She was stock except for the lift and tires...i was getting my 2020 regeared to 5.29's and I was going to get an elocker but the guy said..."ah hell...u have driven 4x4's with no lockers for years...it has limited slip and thats all u need lol" I love the regear with the KDMAX tune...got an update and man its performing like it should...and during all the Covid crap...I dropped into the rabbit hole of mods. It was an expensive stress reliever but its lookin awesome, and this girl loves her truck...
Ainge, I really don't want to be a s***head, but your introduction drives me crazy! "This is your boy?" You are NOT anyone's boy, but your mother and father's. I don't know why you bought another Tacoma to just bash it? Also, all that pointing is well...stupid. My bad?!?! An idea...just trade for a Pro, then you don't have to tear it up like the last 🌮.
Literally haven’t had a single problem with my truck, absolutely love it
I really like the simplicity of my SR5. There is always something bigger and better (usually more expensive as well) out there. Less complexity is not always a bad thing.
I agree. I just got a tacoma sr5 and I love it
It’s your basic budget Toyota tacoma 4x4 .love it for it’s simplicity or upgrade one piece at a time !
i have a 2021 sr5 4x4 and love it, i do all my oil changes even tranny dif and transfer case, the onlt thing i did was get a little more thread tires for slush and mud.I still have the original battery 4years running.
My sr5 has a trail package has lights storage and 400 volt power box with Tacoma mat on bed floor

Sr5 22 ac best thing ever
All the things you point out that it lacks, are the reasons I didn’t opt for the higher trim.
I’m a salesman for Toyota. I knew every single thing you mentioned
I knew it, and I love mySR5 !
I love my sr5
Call a wambulance
I love my 2018 SR5, it is my daily! I like the heading lights on the TRD just because of the les, but it’s just a fashion thing. For off roading, I was my 2019 1794.
If you don’t off road or need 4WD the SR 5 is a better choice. Cheaper. Less maintenance. Less stuff to break. Etc
Ya superficial waa waa. Durability. You youngsters need to learn to go without and still get somewhere.... for a long time.
My sr5 also came with the turn signals
TRD off road is the best trim package to get. I don’t understand people that get anything else.
Yup
Sport is the worst package tho
@@mblake0420 I have a "12 sport... I love it 😎🤘🏾
The Off Road is overkill if you’re not going… off road.
@@youcanrunnaked nope, if your buying a truck at all a locker is a must even on a 2wd
sr5 is the best . i love cloth seats better !!!!
I Love my 2018 SR5 2wd access cab with KO2's and Bilstein 5100's all around with 2" front lift to level truck! I lost my fuel economy, but the truck looks SICK!
Seems like you'd bitch if you're ice cream was to cold 😂
The tacos are awesome kiddo
So glad the trd sport has a black headliner
Nothing I didn’t know , but I know one thing I paid 25k less for my SR5 4 wheel drive vs the pro or off road most guys don’t even need a pro 😂

Bro didn’t do his research
The Toyota Tacoma is so good you can only come up with 3 problems.

Beat me to it...Just picked up all new LASFIT LED bulbs FOR MY TRD OR...including the switch back fogs...Lasfit had the Halloween Special 15% off
Start the walk bro!! I was number 52
Hey Aing the 2021 Trail comes with the power inverter in the bed.

12 volt power outlet quite useless...
You've got a great truck, quit your B-------!
You have wasted a lot of money by settling . You need to get what you really want and can afford. It would have cost you less.
Helpful info man, I appreciate the tips.
Can’t wait for your next video 😈
I have a power outlet in my sr5

The grey interior makes it seem or feel bigger on the inside. I was also smoking a blunt when I was inside that truck so who knows lol

@@harry39196 You can change them to whatever color you want.
Why is there a dead body under the blanket in the passenger seat? 😂
At least your sr5 has a nice radio... mine doesn't😪
The offroad has a larger differential and the manual has a better gear ratio for bigger tires.

I have and love my 2018 SR5 4x2, but, secretly I drool when I have to stop next to a TRD Sport at a red light! Maybe next time???
Aing! I like the amber color too so I got the Lamin-x amber fog light covers off Amazon and they look sick. Only $16

Sorry, but this video offered nothing of value over 5+ minutes. These are all non issues concerning performance and the driver's experience.

Swapping up the headliner you'll need to remove the windshield.
I wonder if the fabric could be dyed without removing it.
i love my 2021 sr5 2wd . i changed my grille to trd pro and i added wildpeaks tires with trd wheels . beast
