  • This is a local install of EQ Emulator where I have assembled a raid team of 54 characters at level 60 to take on Dagarn the Destroyer in North Temple of Veeshan (NToV).
The characters are mostly geared in Kael/Skyshrine quest armor, as well as loot from mid-tier Luclin raid mobs.
The MacroQuest macro library, e3, was used to create the scripts that control these characters, which can be found on Project EverQuest's forums.

Love it mate, good one. You make it look so easy. Random question: is it at all possible for a friend to join (on LAN etc) ? I'm assuming not.

Sure can. You'll need to set up port forwarding. You can even broadcast your server online for anyone to join if you wanted

Hi Dave, still loving the videos. Got my server running 6 characters. Still in the tutorial zone trying to setup mq2. Tons of commands and lots of ini building. What i cannot find satisfactory info on is social hotkey examples for sending bcs or class specific chat channels. Perhaps video covering one of your raids but stopping to show/explain commands sent? Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

The video coming in a week and a half will cover a lot of this. But some basic commands to know for e3 include "/assiston" (assist me) "/dotson" (Cast DoTs On Command) "/debuffson" (Cast Debuffs On Command) "/followme" (follow me) "/stop" (stop following) "#zone zonename" Move to that zone (might need to be a GM) "#summon charname" (summon character to you, or summons your target to you). There are more and I'll have to make a video on this

There's a video queued for either the end of June or the first week of July where I go over some of the basics of installation and setting up macros. For a 54-man team, the most important thing for a PC is 64 GB of RAM. The video card isn't all too important. If you're into Alienware, one of the lower-tier models (but with more RAM) would probably be just fine. If you custom build computers, I would look at the Alienwares with 64 GB of RAM and see what other type of components they use and base it on that. Unfortunately, I haven't built a custom PC in over a decade.

"What are the specs of your computer to be able to handle so many characters?"

Most importantly 64 gb of RAM and a SSD. Video card doesn't need to be great. CPU can be average as well.
