I had an audition for the music club at my college. Playing and performing guitar has always been a dream of mine. I gave practice my all, but when the audition came, I choked the performance. Additionally the interviewers threw some tests at me, and I realized that I was out of my depth. It killed me to realize my best wasn't good enough to play alongside people who probably had years of professional lessons. I seriously considered giving up music just over how badly that hurt. Genuinely, this song rejuvenated me. I'm going to keep trying. Keep hoping, keep dreaming. This won't be the end. I refuse.

This theme was so important for me. It was in June, I think June 28. On that day I had my last exam that would decide if I graduate from high school or not. It was Maths. I was never good in Maths so on that morning I was shaking and was so scared, I couldn't think straight. On the way to school I decided to hear Hopes and Dreams, because my Hopes and Dreams literally depended on that exam. As I heard this I got more and more confident, I wasn't scared anymore. I know that will sound cringe but I was filled with determination. I knew that I had to pass this exam and I was very confident that I will, thanks to Hopes and Dreams giving me the courage. For that, I'm still very grateful. I thank Toby for this masterpiece.

The other two (JUSTICE and KINDNESS) are reasons to refuse to give up -- they have to punish the evil or protect the good. DETERMINATION, therefore, is the pure, unfiltered willpower to never. Give. Up. Everything is ending... but Frisk's SOUL is filled with DETERMINATION, and it refuses to die!

Man. Years later and I've still never truly moved on from it. As I've gotten older it's helped me a lot with depression and finding hope in the darkest of times. In and of itself, it was a great game, but the music and messages it had really helped shape me as a person. It really is wonderful.

There are often points where I kinda forget about Undertale, as it kinda slips from my mind. But then I listen to this and remember why I love this game and why I despise people who simply hate it for being popular or because they think it's "autistic" just because of a minority of social outcasts trying to ruin something that is cute, funny, deconstructive, silly, and so filled with hopefulness. I had an audition for the music club at my college. Playing and performing guitar has always been a dream of mine. I gave practice my all, but when the audition came, I choked the performance. Additionally the interviewers threw some tests at me, and I realized that I was out of my depth. It killed me to realize my best wasn't good enough to play alongside people who probably had years of professional lessons. I seriously considered giving up music just over how badly that hurt.

This theme was so important for me. It was in June, I think June 28. On that day I had my last exam that would decide if I graduate from high school or not. It was Maths. I was never good in Maths so on that morning I was shaking and was so scared, I couldn't think straight. On the way to school I decided to hear Hopes and Dreams, because my Hopes and Dreams literally depended on that exam. As I heard this I got more and more confident, I wasn't scared anymore. I know that will sound cringe but I was filled with determination. I knew that I had to pass this exam and I was very confident that I will, thanks to Hopes and Dreams giving me the courage. For that, I'm still very grateful. I thank Toby for this masterpiece.

When your non battle form is so cute that dev refused to give you a villain theme
There are often points where I kinda forget about Undertale, as it kinda slips from my mind. But then I listen to this and remember why I love this game and why I despise people who simply hate it for being popular or because they think it's "autistic" just because of a minority of social outcasts trying to ruin something that is cute, funny, deconstructive, silly, and so filled with hopefulness. Even then, listening to this fills me not only with bitter sweet memories of this game, but also....with DETERMINATION.

Ok so here's some advice if you come across a guy who says Undertale is autistic (because, frankly, that's immature): Notify them that some forms of autism actually make people smarter than most, at the cost of... actually, I don't know the cost. Also remind them that both Albert Einstein and the creator of Pokémon had/have autism.

Y'know, too much DETERMINATION makes monsters melt into sludge. Humans are made of hardier stuff than dust and magic, though, so Frisk can handle it. They're determined to see this through, and they refuse to give up just because a little DETERMINATION is leaking out of their eyeballs!

Thank you Toby, just thank you. This is such a beautiful song, and it still sticks to me after all these years. Even since the game came out and one my best friends helped me pass the pacifist route through a Skype call.. This has been one of my favorite songs EVER. It's so perfect!
