  • This video analyzes the 4231 Formation Tactics. It also covers the roles of each position and shows animated examples! Ideas on how to play out the back and how and where to attack the opponents using this formation are also presented. This formation allows the attack to come from many different angles. Having two Defensive Midfielders is what makes this formation UNIQUE!
    I would like to say thanks to Code Football as they inspired me to make this video. They created a video about the 4231 Formation Tactics that I really liked and enjoyed. I got some ideas from them but there were also many ideas that I had different thoughts on for the 4231 Formation. So, If you would like to see that video, the link is here below:

    What are your thoughts on the 4-2-3-1 Formation Tactics? Do you play or coach with this formation?

      I did run this formation. You don’t present it well. It is a very effective and versatile formation. But you are limiting its options with poor animation and bad information. When I introduced it to my U-19 boys, of whom never had tactics as part of their training, we went from a 0-1-8 to second in our group in one season with 5-2-2. An were the only team to make the eventual state cup winners struggle to barely beat us with a 2-1 in the last minute. Then fucking Covid. Yes, this is a winning formation when presented and played correctly.

    Coach why nowadays traditional 442 is not being used frequently

    • @LaVidaFutbol
      @LaVidaFutbol  3 года назад +3

      Thanaj Cheziyan it’s not used because the structure of the formation automatically puts teams at a disadvantage in the middle. Most teams play with 3 in the center of the pitch. Also, all professional coaches know the fundamentals tactics of the 442 so they know how to play against that. It’s a great formation and if done correctly it can be used to win matches but at the end of the day, teams want to win and the 442 hasn’t had a winning reputation in a while. Currently, Atletico Madrid are doing well with that formation but they seem to be the only team. If they manage to win La Liga, you will begin to see some teams use the formation again. For now, the 4231 seems to dominate the football world.

    There is a lot wrong here: defensively, the full backs fall in to be a back for and compress the box, while the wingers handle the outside threats. If a fullback is drawn wide, it is the winger that falls inside to cover the space if the #6 or #8 cannot. Attacking, the Ingres ARE OUT WIDE! you keep them compressed and never available to exploit the field. The #8 or #6 is going to explode into the center freeing the #10 to roam into other open areas with the striker. This is the poorest example of how to run an effective 4-2-3-1 ever.
