He should be in a lot of things. I want to hear him with avantasia, ayreon, unleash the archers, battle beast, beast in black, blind guardian, twilight force etc. even if just a feature. Follow the Cipher is a good swedish band that needs a singer...Maybe he could feature in Majestica, he's been on 2 songs with Tommy already. For some reason he keeps picking Btier bands noone cares about and while he elevates them every time, I still can't help but imagine how epic he'd be in a band with a really good songwriter/composer. Project Aegis and Dimhav showed he has such insane potential if only someone good picked him up
the stuff in this video is exclusively from TheRangePlace, which is a forum specifically for vocal analysis and the people there are quite strict with these things. Aside from the last notes in both low and high sections (the C#1 and C#7, both of which are debated in terms of octave since they're so far back in the mix), all of this has been researched and approved by a bunch of people before I even made the video.
@@shagstars probably because he's a low tenor and low notes are rare for him, so his technique for those notes is quite lacking. His growls are in the 1st octave but they lack the strength and resonance the same technique would produce for a baritone and he does them more breathy, which takes away even more of the tone. TheRangePlace doesn't count them towards his full range, but it's also to be considered he was doing that in 2004 and melodic low growls were not a thing until gospel and a-capella singers (Tim Foust, Avi Kaplan etc.) perfected it in the early 2010s
@@shagstars a whole lot of vocal technique exists only because of mics. In fact, it wasn't until the invention of the microphone that modern vocal technique started developing. Bel Canto and belting are the only techniques that could count to vocal range by that standard. Falsetto, whistle, any breathy techniques, most bass techniques, volume dynamics etc. would all be disregarded. That line keeps dropping lower and lower as time goes on. I'd say the limit of inclusion would be if you can control the pitch of the technique and sustain it, sing phrases in it and keep it consistent, i.e. a random whistle squeak doesnt count, but a melodic phrase in whistle register counts, even if it's with shit tone. That's how I see it at least
MusicalPotato hmm, no, search in RUclips (supported vocal range) you can find so much videos, supported notes in few words are the notes emitted with good and healthy vocal technique, no throatiness, no tensions, with neutral larynx, etc
@@gayhomelesswithpinknails4424 the "at his best" part was confusing to me, nothing else x) That range would be B2-D6 He doesnt sing low in his full voice :/ sometimes he even frys B2 and C3
Depends on what you count towards his range. Some people dont consider vocal fry part of range, some people dont think the C#1 and C#7 exist, there is debate on some notes so...it depends. I just report what notes there are 😅

11:05 the reason why we all came here
This guy should be in Dream Theater...he deserves a better band, and they a better vocalist lol...a beast of a singer

I would love that so much I like JL but he has long since run his course and this guy might have an even higher range
Thanks for putting this together. I got into lost horizon, heed, and was looking what more this man has to offer. Lavett is pretty killer!!
Check the new dimhav stuff, I think he reached new highs. Also check project aegis with him and the studio walkthrough with the isolated voice (WOW)
I updated the long video already, i havent remade this one yet....kinda forgot i made it lol but yea i saw that stuff
A lot of mistakes made. Some in the first octave were actually second octave notes.

@@TheMusicalPotatoes why do my first octave notes sound like they are lower than his? It really sounds like he fries 2nd octave notes instead of 1.

He has a great voice. I'd like to hear him sing some old Queensrÿche. I know he wouldnt have any problems with it. Id just like to hear it.
If you haven't heard it yet go see the video for Project Aegis And The Rest is Mystery.
