As a first gen Mexican/American, Her performance style, her pop culture/fashion references, all resonate with me living a bi cultural experience. Needless to say, I’m really proud of her accomplishments and the fact that she is killing it out there in the world, representing our humble little corner of south east Los Angeles.

I believe you should teach a Master class on how to cover so much information and synthesize it in a way that's easily digestible. I graduated from film school and focused on documentary work but I don't have that refined level of organization you do in pairing topics. This is Excellence in visually/oral storytelling please keep up the good work!
I wasn't watching the show yet, when this was going down in real time. So at 8:00, I was worried you were gonna say Valentina was mad at Shea for bringing it up in such detail. It's actually pretty sweet to see that Valentina was instead grateful for the clarification & closure. Sounds like she disassociated hard, in that moment. Disassociation (and the memory loss from it) is a totally believable thing to happen to someone in that situation and I'm surprised people thought she would be lying??? It's neuro-response to situations stressful enough to cause trauma. She got chewed out by one of her idols for the world to see. I've experienced it, but never on that level, that's for sure. Ik people like to be all tough love about people choosing to stand in the tv limelight to be a star; but we can still have compassion for when people make mistakes; especially with such a large audience.
I remember showing my straight guy friend (who has never seen RPDR) the first episode of season 9 and he instantly fell in love with Valentina. He was rooting for her until she was eliminated and was pretty sad after it. I think it shows the charisma of Val and how spectacular she is that even straight guys that know nothing of queer culture and drag in general fall for her and get interested in the show:)

I'm straight guy and started watching drag Race from season 9 . (Before that, I don't have a any idea about this show , who was a rupaul and no any information about Drag Queens... I swear.) I believe you should teach a Master class on how to cover so much information and synthesize it in a way that's easily digestible. I graduated from film school and focused on documentary work but I don't have that refined level of organization you do in pairing topics. This is Excellence in visually/oral storytelling please keep up the good work!
I wasn't watching the show yet, when this was going down in real time. So at 8:00, I was worried you were gonna say Valentina was mad at Shea for bringing it up in such detail. It's actually pretty sweet to see that Valentina was instead grateful for the clarification & closure. Sounds like she disassociated hard, in that moment.
Disassociation (and the memory loss from it) is a totally believable thing to happen to someone in that situation and I'm surprised people thought she would be lying??? It's neuro-response to situations stressful enough to cause trauma. She got chewed out by one of her idols for the world to see. I've experienced it, but never on that level, that's for sure.
Ik people like to be all tough love about people choosing to stand in the tv limelight to be a star; but we can still have compassion for when people make mistakes; especially with such a large audience.
I remember showing my straight guy friend (who has never seen RPDR) the first episode of season 9 and he instantly fell in love with Valentina. He was rooting for her until she was eliminated and was pretty sad after it. I think it shows the charisma of Val and how spectacular she is that even straight guys that know nothing of queer culture and drag in general fall for her and get interested in the show:)

Thankyou for pointing out the bit about some people putting things in their rider to check if the contract is read. I think it is very possible that the red M&Ms was just that, and the promoter/bar didn't understand the significance of missing the red M&Ms. Just thinking she was being a diva.
I've worked at venues where the talent appreciated even having the staff say "We noticed the request, but we unfortunately weren't able to get it." 9 times out of 10 they'll say something like "I'm just glad you read it."

I'm straight guy and started watching drag Race from season 9 . (Before that, I don't have a any idea about this show , who was a rupaul and no any information about Drag Queens... I swear.) I'm really obsessed with Valentina , I'm not following anyone only her and I'm always checking regularly what's she's doing what's a story she posted. She is so unique I don't know there is something special about her. She's very unique and likable .
