2:30 "And this is just for a game" is such a funny statement. Funny because yes we're used to thinking like that yet there's no logical reason why games should have worse music than anything else, such as movies. It's all entertainment and better music equals better experience. The only defining quality is the budget and Genshin Impact being wildly successful game is just lucky enough that it can afford that.
The thing is, Genshin is doing it so different. Every orchestra is filled with the best musicians from their country. They put a high emphasis on quality. Game music is definitely great, but this is next level, and I hope to see others follow suit.
As someone said, it's not "just" a game. It's a FREE game. You'd expect high society food to taste better than free samples, but imagine if free samples tasted like the best steak in the world. You'd probably go, "THIS IS FREE?"
The koto is a custom I think, they’re usually 13 strings but that one has at least 20. Getting the 25 string would be absolutely awesome but I would die reading the music sheet
The messy start: Both fighters trying to figure eachothers experince, reaction time and basically testing the waters with quick strikes and feints. When it starts to syncronize and come together: Both figured eachother out and start to go counter eachother with their own learned methods Truly a duel in the mist
Not every battle theme is like this. Generally speaking, Mondstadt battle theme's are about bulding tension and then releasing that tension the longer the fight proceeds(Those battle theme's are amazing in my opinion), While Liyue and Inazuma are a combination of those two. As for Enkanomiya and The chasm, They have have a lot of viloin in there, and they are also a combination of the three. There is also Dragonspine, which has 1 battle track, but that song is a banger. While Mihoyo has a music team, and a talented one at that, There is only composer, and That's Yu Peng Chen. Every track in Genshin, no matter what, is composed by him. And that includes this battle theme, as well.
this is probably one of my favorite open world battle themes in genshin impact. whenever it plays in game, i just wanna stall the fight so it plays a little longer. whenever i listen to it outside of the game like this, it never fails to give me an ocean of goosebumps. it’s just so amazing! happy you enjoyed it too!
The music in the game is performed by a live orchestra. This song, is the identical song used in the game. Quite often games will make a soundtrack in computer software and then make a version that is performed live. Genshin's soundtrack is the live ost.
Those two string instrument in the front called Shamisen (三味線), The string plucking instrument in the middle called Koto (箏), The woodwind instrument called Shakuhachi (普化尺八), Those army of drums (including the big drum) called Taiko (太鼓) or you can say it Taiko Drums
I recommend checking out the Genshin Concerts! There are currently two concerts, available to watch on their YT, the first concert: the anniversary Genshin is the longest one (with almost 2 hours) and the 2022 Genshin Concert (with almost 30 mins), both are so incredible and I don't regret watching it through 'till the end. Such an amazing experience. If you intend to make a video about these, I am definitely going to be watching and enjoy your reactions to them, cannot recommend them enough, especially since you already loved this!
You should check the whole anniversary concert, it's a bit long but definitely worth it! Or if you want a song in specific.. Azdhaha battle theme, you won't regret it.
I believe the flute is a traditional bamboo flute! My music teacher showed my class a video about how they’re made and a few examples of what they sound like. It’s a beautiful instrument
If you liked La Signora’s battle theme I’d bet you’d really like Azhdaha’s boss battle theme too. Honestly in my opinion the best one out of all the bosses. No 🧢
The harp thing is called Koto, the guitar like is called Shamisen ( its the thing that zenitsu playing at demon slayer red light district arc), the drums are called Taiko and the flute is called Shakuhachi And yes these are the real musicians that perform the real soundtrack there is a behind the scenes video showing creation of the whole Inazuma soundtrack if you want to check that out. Heres the link: ruclips.net/video/avmFhel0ky4/видео.html
the amazing thing about the genshin soundrack is thay they somehow merge traditional sounds and instrument with contemporaneous type of music and soundscapes , is like when music evolved over the time instead of music types fighting over themselves builded together to strenghten the music as a whole
Souds like a trap - yeah, the main composer Yu Peng Chen likes to mix traditional and electronic music, you can check Zhongli music theme "Rex incognito"
Genshin never disappoints with the music, or anything (except anniversary rewards ig), all of the music in the game is great, the Raiden shogun theme and Zhongli theme are pretty much trap beats played on traditional instruments which isn’t something I’ve heard before, that’s why I’m always hyped for new regions being added and new characters
Oh they have gone full trap with "Domineer" in their other game, Honkai Impact 3rd. MiHoYo/HOYO-MiX is not afraid of using our money for music and animation and I love it. The concerts for both games are also absolute joys to watch.
6:16 you feel you're about to destroy a couple of bosses, while the theme is played when you just fight regular enemies, and the bosses have their own theme
And there is also behind the scene they recorded of inazuma theme whereas it almost 100% remotely due to pandemic .. most of the theme was performed by the Japanese.. same like liyue by the Chinese.
So the four instruments are the shakuhachi (woodwind/flute), the koto (the large zither instrument you mentioned), the shamisen (the handheld string instruments) and the taiko drums. There are a lot of live performances, concert videos, behind the scenes videos and such for Genshin. The one I linked below is for the Japanese-themed Inazuma region, where you can see them record with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra and invited local cultural musicians. There's also (shorter) videos for the recordings of the region of Liyue (Chinese inspired and performed by the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra) and the region of Mondstadt (Western European-inspired and performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra). If you've never heard of them, look up the Yoshida Brothers. They're a shamisen-playing duo and their music is excellent. "Kodo" is a great song by them.
You should react to another battle theme in Genshin called "Combat beneath the waves", it's amazing. I don't know if there's a live version of it through.
I don't know if you'll still see this comment, but seeing that you like inazuma type music, especially the flute breakdown, PLEASE react to Scaramouche's battle theme. All phases together, the build up is amazing. I'm not sure if you've already reacted, but it's truly my favorite theme now, extremely well put together.
Genshin Impact and Nier: Automata are the only two games I have stopped playing to just listen to their amazing music. Many games may have a few great pieces, but nothing can even come close to these two games when it comes to the amount of masterpieces for a single game, they are on a universe of their own.
feel ya me tooo, nier and drakengard also genshin have so good musik you just press pause to listen to the music if you like nier music listen to kajiura yuki
The most recent update brought AMAZING battle themes. Check out "The Chasm Battle Theme 2" (no official name just yet). Edit: this one. ruclips.net/video/qhN8gI0Tr2c/видео.html
Koto 琴 the arp, Sakuhachi 作八 the flute, 太鼓 Taiko drums, 三味線 Shamisen the guitar, I know Japanese because I study that language, I know girls from Japan then they teach me, send requests beautiful girls from the planet I continue to do extreme exercise.

The one thing you can't deny while playing Genshin is that they have banger music.
so true
they may have some mishaps in gameplay, lore etc here and there but the music never disappoint!!
Their music just gets better everytime
You should react to the Inazuma live symphony, it’s amazing seeing an entire orchestra of modern and traditional instruments playing the ost.

i found that more annoying rather than funny
@@delun4 "free" is the most expensive price tag sometimes
the like guitar instrument is called "shamisen"
the big one, is called"koto"
the flute is hachisaku
the drum is called taiko
The flute is Shakuhachi
The big drum is called Odaiko if i am not mistaken.Taiko is general names of japanese traditional drum.
The koto is a custom I think, they’re usually 13 strings but that one has at least 20.

@@SandwichDoggy True. Every battle theme has their uniqueness.
Actually it's not just Yu-Peng or the Hoyo-Mix, they are accompanied by some Japanese composer i just forgot what is her name.
@@bryanmarcumacob9309 Idk. I only know of Yu, hoyo-mix and Zoe kai(music director).
@@bryanmarcumacob9309 she only helps for the soundtracks you hear in inazuma
I also love Zhongli's theme "Rex Incognito" and Raiden Shogun's theme "judgement of euthymia"
the raiden shogun’s theme is one of the best ones… my favourites are ganyu’s, kokomi’s, raiden’s
For Raiden I like "Termination of Desires"

this is the final recording for the in game music
