how many classes do you think should be equal to 1 competition ? I have guys that do 2 or 3 comps a year, but only come to 4 or 5 month for classes, but still get belt promotions, and the guys that are in class 3 days a week 52 weeks a year are not because they are not attending competitions. ??

I entered a regional in the Novice division. Overall I learned a LOT about Judo through it. Did 7 matches, went 3-4. Felt really good until...
For suplexed by a HS wrestler. Didn't know that a legit move. It sucked. I come from a MA background and have done BJJ and Karate comps, bur that was the worst moment I've had. Recovered fine. Learned through it. Excited for the next one! Doing it just for fun. Probably won't do it after the Novice division because of age, but we'll see!
