I’m 6’4”. There is an amazing lack of backpacking tents made for tall people. In my mind 96 inches is a minimum length when you consider an air mattress is going to lift you up four inches. Tall people usually have big feet as well, so if you’re a back sleeper that brings you closer to touching the sides of the tent which can allow moisture to wick into your slipping bag, not good if you are on a multi day trip with rainy weather.

My partner is 6’7” we were using the HVUL 4 before getting the 3Long!
And he still feels cramps with his feet touching the walls and wanting to sleep diagonally (he gets a tent all to himself lol)

I'm 5'11" and I find the normal length works great for me. Any taller and I'd totally look at this option, glad it exists for the stretchfolks out there. Excellent point about the footprint. Gram weenies hate them, and to me a slice of Tyvek is lame to put under your $500 tent. These tents are surprisingly strong with their spaceage fabric, but I use a BA footprint and highly recommend it as well because who wants to put a hole in their excellent tent because you wanted to save a few grams or a couple dollars.
What is not mentioned here is that the footprint allows you to setup the footprint + poles + rainfly in a pinch if you want to wait out some rain, or want some shade during lunch or a rest and don't want to put up the full tent. Also allows you to set up the fly/poles/footprint, get under it, and then put up the tent inside, keeping it dry.

Are you happy with the regular size for the tent with 2 people and some gear inside? Or you like using the vestibules more? Or maybe you use it more often solo?

You know if these will be available in green at some point? The orange is a no-go in my opinion.

This! I so want to buy this tent, but it's just so ugly in orange and silver.

Agreed, it's already really thin and lets in a ton of light (not great for hiking Scandinavia in summer!), bright orange is just crazy.

Do you have any experience with putting the tent in a bikepacking bag? Im not sure if it will fit. Thanks a lot.

Although we haven't put one in a bikepacking bag, we do know the dimensions of the packed size! The HV UL Long 2P measures 22" x 6", and the HV UL Long 3P measures 22" x 6.5". Hope that helps!

@@Enwild Is the bag at all compressable lengthwise or are the poles 22" long? I'd love to fit it sideways in my backpack. Do the poles come in their own bag?
