Usually the focus is on the female workers mental decline and internal brokenness, yet the men suffer from the same issues as well. Male hypersexuality is promoted as something good but is so destructive and degrading. We were not made to use our bodies n tat manner. I'm so thankful he got out and got help. And tat he is sharing the truth about the industry. ❤❤❤

I was thinking the same thing! There's no profanity, slang, or hyperbole. I feel like he has reflected on his decisions from the start of his career. He seems to have found serenity in a world that would drag most souls through hell. I think one consequence from the craziness is that he is a better person.

what he said is true about dating in the industry. My wife was in the industry when we started dating and quit just before our marriage. We would go out on double dates with her co-worker friends. I tried to accept it but couldn't after a few years so I was honest with her and she understood and quit the job when I proposed to her and now she is a wonderful mother of our children. If anyone thinks it is hard/ not possible to leave that job, it is possible.

Amazing interview! Glad to hear how he turned his life around and you can really tell that he went through the work & counseling to help build back up his self esteem. I'm a Christian, so happy to hear how his faith also changed his life for the better without being judgemental of the people still struggling. Also, love how blunt he was about the industry and what it does to people mentally. Hate to hear that people spam him with his past work to try to shame him from moving on with his life. I pray for the best for him and his family.

As a survivor of sexual abuse growing up in a fundamentalist church during the 70-90s the harsh punitive teaching of shame became a total turn off from God as a caring healer. I still struggle to feel empathy or acceptance with God. Joshua, your ability to walk away and find acceptance and love in God is a wonderful example. Along with your courage to share your journey you have one of the most challenging journeys I've viewed, How God could choreograph your recovery and give you a nonjudgmental approach that coveys your recovery with the interviewer is awesome too.

I am so tired of adults making conscious decision and not owning responsibility. If Joshua had made one movie and quit because he truly felt "disgusted" afterward I would have sympathy for him and believe he really believed he made a "mistake." He went back to make more movies for YEARS. I understand the feeling of regret, but you can't blame it on coercion. As he said, "one pornographic film would not have ruined my life."

100% agree with you. That’s his pattern in life. He didn’t want to put in the hard work to become a regular actor, so he did porn. Once his porn career dried up, easiest way out is to become a pastor and trash his old life. Dude’s not equipped mentally to handle anything too hard.

This interview has been great. There were times during this that I actually experienced tears. It is so great that you are married and have kids. What a great turnaround! Yes, there was a reason you talked to that teller and that you met your wife. It truly was a life saver. I'm so glad that you didn't go through with your plan to end it all. I don’t buy the I’m not gay bit. No one made him do gay porn. I think he’s ashamed of being attracted to men. This is a guy who bottomed for black inmates in a prison scene. He chose to do this. He acts like his career in gay porn just happened. Plus, if he did all those films, where did his money go? Up his nose? This guy is telling half a story. He needs to address his drug and sex addictions, if he wants to be honest. Many porn actors came to porn after being prostitutes and continue to service clients usually at higher rates. I wonder if this was part of his story? Nothing would surprise me about this fellow.

He's retired from porn and now he's writing a book about it being his life. He's still making money off porn!! It's just that now the book will make him feel like he's repented. Come on! Do ya'll not see the irony in this ? Give me a break.

Thank you Joshua for sharing your story. I know the feeling of hating yourself, looking for someone else to validate the self hatred. It almost makes you feel better when people say mean things. Bc it confirms the way you already feel about yourself.

What an intelligent dude. it's Insane this period of his life being at disposition to anybody but himself. I have to disagree on the things that are un-obtonium for him. He can create music, or a podcast, nobody prevents or judges him for it, he is cut out to do it, full new life ahead. Go for it man! all the best

No idea how I ended up here but interesting interview. Good for him that he turned his life around. We all have a past whether is bad or really bad but if you able to let go and live in the present and enjoy the moment than you deserve to find happiness or at least be content where you are in your life.

I was in a film when I was 19. It definitely affects the people around you in your life. I made the stupid mistake of sharing the info and it spread around. I soon became a curiosity and in a couple of instances it affected people I wanted to date because of the friends of friends telling them. I cant imagine what these people go thru. Mine was just more of a cool adventurous dare and I knew the woman. Porn acting has got to make them dead inside, it's pretty sad.

I see that little boy who Joshua was and I want to hug him and cry with him as an adult. I have mental illness, so I can identify. Although I am a gay male, the "human condition" is the same. This industry sounds "ruthless!" I cry thinking about this trauma.

Dude u rly gotta work on your hosting skills. You say “yeah” after every sentence when Josh is speaking. It interrupts the flow of convo & I’m having difficulty getting thru the 1st 20 min of this podcast episode b/c so. Let your guest talk & maybe let them finish their train of thought before chiming in or interjecting in any way. It’s rly distracting while he’s tryin to share his story.

So many people hating on this guy because he turned his life around. I'm sad that there are this many people in our society who hate someone for wanting to leave an unhealthy lifestyle. I think this man is an inspiration. I guess some hate the light so much that they attack anyone who isn't in the dark anymore.
