      She is incredibly generous. She has probably accepted that the hard and heartfelt work that she is doing will not bear abundant fruit within her lifetime. She has a strong sense of justice and determination to move the boulder in the right direction. I think her grandchildren will live in a Mississippi that has recovered from bigotry and stereotyping and prejudice. Mississippians of conscience….get behind this woman and help to push!

      oh, is that right?
      you should try living in a black neighborhood or a black-run city--like Jackson--and then you'll BEG for some of that old-time "repression."

    We desperately need UNIFORM FEDERAL standards for how states conduct elections - registering requirements and methods, no excuse mail-in voting, number of early voting days, number of polling places to eliminate extremely long lines at the polls, etc, etc. If states want representatives in D.C. to champion their interests then they should be required to play by federal rules to elect them.

    Mississippi government smells like Republican GOP. NC here. The GOP works hard to put laws in place and not tell the people already voted on by a GOP majority state congress.
    this kind of behavior from GOP is happening everywhere.

      It's more like a Jim Crow mentality. This has nothing to do with any specific party, but rather r@cism within the US's historical fabric. If it were just a Republican issue, then Biden would not have been best friends with Robert Byrd (head of kkk) and Strom Thurmond (kkk supporter, avowed r@cist and r@pist of a young Blk girl who he impregnated as an adult male). And Biden would not have said he didn't want his children to grow up in a "racial jungle" (meaning: around Blks). It's more classism and racism than a party thing.

    Mississippian here. I talked to a few ride share drivers and my sons. They and me too don't have faith or hope for change here. We feel that it is controlled and nothing ever helps except for the few.

      I hear your heartbreak and know You have a great deal of personal experience that makes it all feel so hopeless. I do believe that people will continue to fight and win and change the world for the better. I am sorry for your pain and struggles. For too long too many of us have felt invisible and voiceless. Please know You are cared for and I hear You and consider You important and worth fighting for. I will not give up and will alwayz work to contribute to a more just and Loving world, along with so many other people I know. May our Love and works ripple out far enough to somehow reach and bless You too. Please remember You deserve good things.🙏🏽❤️🦋

      I'm 68 and it is difficult to see the backward slide America has taken. This Supreme Court has been doing great damage to the working class people. The election of Obama was a great hope for so many of us, but for others, it was a signal that their time and their power might be slipping away, and they've been fighting in every dirty and underhanded way to hold on to that power and prevent any change that most of us would welcome and consider positive. Please don't give up hope because that's exactly what these folks trying to take our freedom away want to happen. Trumpism is filled with hateful, racist rhetoric and negativity, encouraging violence and bad behavior. We have to continue to fight against this anger and misinformation and keep pushing for the direction we want our states and our country to move towards. I truly appreciate this woman following her calling. She knows she has an uphill battle in Mississippi, but she is definitely up for that challenge. I think our young people are more politically aware than ever and will work hard to get big money and corruption out of our political system and our government. I place my faith in these new, young voters. May we all keep the faith 🕊🍀🍀🕊

      oh? you want some "hope for change"...like the perennial Democrat seat-holder Bennie Thompson? or the series of Democrat crooks who have run Jackson into the ground?
      they will continue ruining everything they touch no matter if there's an R or a D in office nationally.

    Mail in and early voting should be a national/federal right, and supported by voting law - outrageous that Mississippi still makes it so hard to vote, and seems so obviously racially motivated, since it is state w/ highest Black citizens. It's same old southern state segregation and prejudice that needs to finally change in 2024!

    • @BobSmith-vj5kz
      @BobSmith-vj5kz 2 дня назад

      what the hell are you talking about?
      black people in Mississippi are perfectly free to vote for whatever horrible crooked black politician they want to:
      they do it every year.
      why else do you think Jackson--and every other black-run city in the state--is an utter shithole?
