    I plane, sand, dye, oil and varnish the galley worktop.
    I install an antique hand pump.
    I reseal a prism light.
    And refit the door saddle.

    Beautiful counter! There was original a ball in the interior of the pump. A steel or copper ball, like a golf ball without the dimples. That was the original non-return valve..not from Latvia...I used a wooden ball, but after some time that ball was not round any more en leaked. Steel balls you find at the local autobus repair shop (London transport) out of a discarded ball-bearing.

    • @canicebannon
      @canicebannon  4 месяца назад +1

      There is a valve. It’s a flat one metal on metal. The Blake toilet has a ball in the valve. But even on the Blake I have a non return valve. Between the two we’ll get pumping. 😂😂😂

    Did the Pirate Restorer forget to prime the pump? What a Pirate Puzzle you've made of all the counter components! So many (hopefully nonmoving) parts--but you go it all together and it's looking good and for sure ready for Adventure. Thank you for this glimpse into your madness. Fair winds, friend.
