My first car was a 1969 AMC Javelin. To me, that was a beautiful car. In addition to having nice proportions, it had "SS" styling before either the Camaro or the Firebird. I also like the Avanti. I'd love to get one of those someday and convert it to electric drive.
I have to laugh because he talks about the large tail fins on a few of these cars. I wouldn't even consider them fins. Remember Caddy's fins? Those were fins!
You said 61 Newport but your graphics, correctly, said 62. BTW I don't think you have any idea what you're talking about because some of these cars are extremely desirable and collectible.
Did anyone notice the back of the black Baracuda also said 'valiant'? The first year the car carried both names. Kinda like the Toyota Camry Solara did its first year
The creator of video is so out of touch with most people. I was in my teens when these cars came out and most of them were considered beautiful. Many of them were very sought after vehicles. People at the time thought the Avanti was very stylish and ahead of its time. The Cougar was an upscale Mustang. The T-Bird , Riviera and El Dorado were eye catching personal luxury cars that many people only wished they could afford. Some of them were very quirky and odd, but only a couple were considered ugly. This was a time when many different things were tried and not everything worked, but the fifties and sixties produced many unique and beautiful designs. Some may have been over the top but people loved them. Cars and tastes have changed over the years not always for the better. That was the golden era of automotive design. The creator is either joking or doesn't understand what the public wanted at the time.
some of those cars to me were awesome and I loved many of them, some were also rather boxy and over done but i loved the Javalin and Falcon even the corvair
The real shame of the Chevy Corvair was that it could've been a fine car if GM had only done a better job of developing the concept. It never got power steering, power disk brakes, or a water-cooled engine, but I once owned a '65 Monza... easiest engine in the world to work on (if you were lucky enough to find parts), because everything was either on the top or on the bottom. Fun little car to drive, too... when it DID start.
Agree with most of these, but I don't agree that the 66 T-Bird and the 67 Cougar were ugly, and I'm not even a Ford fan. But the '65 Grand Prix? Pontiac won design awards in both '65 and '66 for their full-size cars! Give me a break! They were some of the most beautiful designs of the 60s! And the El Dorado may have been many things, but ugly was certainly not one of them.
Is the nerator high? The 67 Couger was the answer to a luxury coupe. It is drop dead beautiful. Sporty , fast ,handled well and looked like a million bucks doing it. It also had a luxurious interior. They beat Maserati 's buisness coupes on every level.
I heard that the Edsel looked like a Buick sucking on a lemon. When I was a kid my brother and I seen an Edsel and pointed at it laughing and saying LOOK AT THE FUNNY CAR. The owner heard us and was angry and started yelling at us. I guess everyone was laughing at his car but when 2 kids did, he lost his temper. I like to have a mint Edsel now.
First car I had was a 64 Rambler Classic. Had a 287 v8 with a Holley 4 barrel. Reclining bucket seat, and 3 speed on the floor with an overdrive shifter too. Was ugly, but it went like a bat out of hell. I got it for 80 bucks in 73
I was a teen in the 60s Those weren’t ugly cars. The OP has no idea what he’s talking about. 😮
this guy needs to get a clue,
The cougar, the tornado, and a few more cars were well designed. The creator of this video has no clue.
98% of these cars were/are gorgeous, this guys opinions are lacking.
nor do i, these cars are fantastic!
I agree.
Hey the T-Birds, Grand Prix and Javelin were cool!
Don't you love it when modern filtering to judge things from decades ago.
The Avanti was FAR from ugly.
The Avanti is my favorite in the Studebaker family.
I agree, i think many of the cars shown are quite beautiful. Beaty is in the eye of the beholder.
The first real muscle car
For the most part, the author of these videos should be fired. This person has no clue as to what he's writing about.
I am still looking for the "concave" rear window on that Riviera.
The Avanti is a beautiful car and it's 289 ci engine put out 289 hp.
the pontiac looks amazing
I can't watch this, every one of these cars are fantastic.

I'd take any of them over a chynese EV.
I think you will need some drugs to go with.
"I was a teen in the 60s Those weren’t ugly cars. The OP has no idea what he’s talking about."quote🤠
I owned most of these cars
WHAT! EVERY ONE of these is GORGEOUS!
The last car wasn’t even the correct Ford Edsel with the horse collar grill.
Superb cars mostly. If you want ugly buy a new BMW!
Add Mercedes or most anything from Japan or South Korea.
I have to laugh because he talks about the large tail fins on a few of these cars. I wouldn't even consider them fins. Remember Caddy's fins? Those were fins!
The Falcon was a great looking car! The T-Bird was an amazing car, way ahead of its time.
After the Edsel marque bombed for Ford Motor Co., the Ford Falcon "rescued" Ford, as it sold well, unlike the discontinued Edsel.
I HAD A 66 THUNDERBIRD LANDAU IT WAS A GREAT AUTOMOBILE CRUISED 110 MPH EASY
4:02 No Confusion Under the hood. It apparently beat the socks off the Mustang.
I think many of these cars are wonderful with easeof maintenance.
SIR YOU HAVE NO IMAGINATION
You said 61 Newport but your graphics, correctly, said 62. BTW I don't think you have any idea what you're talking about because some of these cars are extremely desirable and collectible.
I had a 1965 Corvair Monza Convertable.....and it was an awesome car...Nader's book was based on the 1960-1964 models....1965 and up were great
Did anyone notice the back of the black Baracuda also said 'valiant'? The first year the car carried both names. Kinda like the Toyota Camry Solara did its first year
Who is this hater? History we love
Wow! The Avanti is not ugly. You need new glasses. I'm saddened.
Nope sorry thst car was U G LY!
That Cougar was awesome!

These are some of the fun cars from the 60's

I would give anything to have that Chrysler, and most of the rest of them. I am going through and pushing the don't recommend button.
Is the nerator high?

THE ELDORADO WAS A GREAT STYLED ABSOLUTELY STUNNING AND HAD A GREAT RIDE
Whoever did this video has no sence of style
And moving on the 70's, the AMC Matador would go on to say "hold my beer".
I heard that the Edsel looked like a Buick sucking on a lemon. When I was a kid my brother and I seen an Edsel and pointed at it laughing and saying LOOK AT THE FUNNY CAR. 62 Avanti was the first real muscle car
My first car was a 61 Cotvair. I paid $75 for it. When Katrina came along I paid $75 for a tank of gas, and I decided I was officially old.
This guy probably thinks the prius is the best looking car ever.
who ever made this video probably drives a Hugo, and thinks they're cool...
Javelin is geil!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
The Studebaker Avanti was not an ugly automobile. If anything, it was just to late to save Studebaker.
Innovative, stylish etc...
Great cars.
Author please show the beautiful cars in your opinion Very interesting
The first production batmobile just misses out - the 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz
always bitching .There are plenty of stylish cars here that designers tried to make stand out from the crowd .The toronado looks cool .
I think American cars from around 1974 to about 1988 are about the ugliest cars ever, Japanese cars from around the same era too
Trolling at its finest!

Had 2 ashtrays in the front too, lol
Half of these cars are beautiful!
The only ones , I think were ugly are the Caddy , Gran Prix ,Rebel , and the Rambler . The rest are great even the little Falcon.
The Barracuda ugly? C'mon dude! 😂
EDSEL WAS POORLY ADDVERTISED
They might be but some times ugly can be the best.
There are alot more modern cars that look worse then these cars.
Retro Ugly is cool today.
Looks like yet another cyber mobile
That's like, just your opinion, man.
his guy understands nothing about style.
😂 "mullet on wheels."
IS. THIS THE ANVARNTI. WHERE CAD. GOT IT IDEAR. FOR. ITS. MAKING THE. CAR ( WITH THE SAME NAM E. IN THE. 1990 S???)
