47828 on 'Welsh Marches Express' + 56090 on Logs - Pontypool - 30/05/24

Two kinds of first generation locos running in the South Wales area tonight.
At Pontypool & New Inn, LSL 47828 was seen taking on the full return leg of the 'Welsh Marches Express' charter from Shrewsbury to High Wycombe. The steam locomotive 'Mayflower' had failed at Shrewsbury before the return had started, but since I'm a diesel enthusiast anyway, I didn't mind this at all.
Half an hour later, Colas Rail 56090 is seen charging through Pontypool on the weekly Baglan Bay to Chirk logs freight train, with the friendly driver giving out several nice long and loud blasts of the horn for the camera, and for me when I waved to him.
