Anthony those are very good tips. My personal experience installing aftermarket systems, I avoid crimp connectors under the hood when possible. Eventually they will fail due to corrosion. Solder your connections whenever possible.
But doesn't every plug use a crimp as well? What about marine grade butt connectors? Also interestingly, in aircraft connections are crimped, over soldered.
@@AnthonyJ350 Factory crimps normally are made of high quality metals and platings. Most aftermarket crimps are made from cheap metals that easily tarnish or corrode. Perhaps if you can find Military Grade/Professional Grade crimps and installed correctly in weather resistant envelopes, they would be a good connection. Open air crimps such as ground points are susceptible to corrosion especially in snow regions. Constant treatments of Fluid Film or NHOU are required to slow the process.

So I have a 2011 Yukon. My passenger side lights work fine. Driver side when low beams on its dim, when I turn high beams on they turn off completely. I’ve changed headlight switch, fuses, relay. Do you think it could be a grounding issue? They are aftermarket headlamps (before I bought it). Thanks.
My lights stopped working a couple days ago on my 2010 Silverado but my high beams worked so I pissed everyone off and could of got a ticket but I drove all the way to work with my brights on, luckily I work graveyard so I didn’t need lights in the morning, I watched your video and had my friend that works at Oreilly check my fuses and relay switch and they were all good, turns out both bulbs burned out at the same time, I was thinking of checking the bulbs first but it was said that the bulbs going out at the same time rarely happens, go figure.
I'm thinking of getting brighter headlight low beam side. What would u recommend? The stock low beam lights u can barely see them at night and especially when it rains.

Do you have any videos about LED bulbs backfeeding and creating dirty power that messes with radio antenna's? I'm kind of suspecting that with my truck, when using brakes radio reception gets worse, and I did swap my 3rd brake light bulbs with LED type. It's an 01 2500HD so very similar truck as yours.
I just bought all new 8k HID conversion kits cause my old ones went out 2 weeks ago. I’ve use my headlights for total of 48 hours. Now my drivers side low beam is working the passenger is showing light but not working. Both high beams are working great just like the drivers side. Idk if bulb is already bad. Cause it’s glowing & fans running. I need help! Cause with 2012 Chevy you almost have to take the whole front end apart just to put them in. HELP?
09 Avalanche, hi and low beams worked fine last time it ran. Vehicle sat for 3-4 weeks, which it's done many times over the years without issue, go to start it today, dead battery. Jumped it and got it running but only the hi beams were working. Ran it for a couple hours to see if the battery would take a charge but no luck, as soon as I shut it off it was completely dead again, so obviously need a new battery but the low beams not working and the hi beams are is weird. Think a new battery will fix the low beam issue or did an issue with the low beams ruin the battery?

Neither hi or low beams work in auto mode and hi beams work in manual mode but low beams don’t. Fuses for low beams are good and swapped relay out with something known to works relay and still no luck, bad switch?
Going to try changing the switch first, which feels a little sticky going from off to auto. Oddly enough the high beams are working in the auto mode now, where they were only working in the full on mode a few hours ago.
Other than the ground up front didn't show anything about testing the light switch other than throwing a new one in or the multifunction switch. No testing just throw parts at it?

Try getting a torch/heat into the available area. Not going to happen. (For heat shrink butt connectors) Also, LED headlights on the Chevy 2015-2019 are a waste of money. Because of design of headlight assembly. Don't waste your time.
@AnthonyJ350 nice I have a 2015 3500hd (srw. 1 batt) I've been through more LED bulbs than I can count lol. (OK, obviously i can count higher but you get the point. been through at least 4. I think 5 actually. And even the LEDs still have that stupid "line" from the idiotic projector style GM put in)
@@chrisn5079 Weird, I put LEDs in a newer Ram with projector headlight housings and it looked great after. I guess it depends on the vehicle manufacturer. We do the upgrade for law enforcement as well.

The heatshrink style butt connectors are pretty robust. Or the solder shrink type are kind of a best of both worlds connector.

I would reground the stereo and 3rd Brake Light if you can and see if that helps

My window and lock switch isn't working. Headlights ain't working LOL. Marker lights work and mirrors work. What a pain in the ass lol.
