Situated in the heart of the city of Ahmedabad, HS House is a compact family home with common walls shared with adjacent houses.
The biggest contextual challenge was that light and ventilation were only possible through the two short sides of the house. This was the defining factor behind the design, and led to the insertion of a large court in the middle, to light up the entire house. The glass box above this court is used as a hot air attractor creating an upward draft, which is then removed through small openings on both sides.
Project Architect Malay Doshi walks us through the design and detailing of spaces in this single-bay urban house, with a built-up area of 3,600 sq.ft.

Wonderful it's not easy to demolish the existing old buildings like these without damaging the accompanied ones and challenging part is to rebuild good work by the architect and all others 🙂
This architect has done an amazing job! Loved everything about this house. He has made it look so big inside and the courtyard in the middle, that's my dream.
I think this is one of the top architecture in the whole buildofy playlist. He really did everything so creatively and technically and all the colors hues materials in interior it just so perfectly modern and earthy he created one of the most beautiful homes. Just wow amazing. Great work man. Loved it.
Fantastic work Buildofy...plz find and post such small projects as most of us Indians live in such kind of homes. It gives us inspiration to remodel our homes and showcase the new architects who do a commendable job designing such small places into some beautiful. Don't just show all those bunglows and farm houses.

Simply a master piece. There are very few spaces that really please when you are an interior designer and this was definitely one of those for me.
