Well masterpiece but can you please tell me with Top to bottom every corner wood is used how will you save the wood from turmite? I have seen people using wood for aesthetic looks but entirely doing a renovation within 5 year's. How about maintenance of the. House? In place like Kerala how long such house will be in good condition with so much wood used where there is so much rainfall or any other place where the rainfall is more?
Thanks for your time.😊 There is granite/marble/stone/tiles between every piece of wood touching the walls. This is my 3rd project in which I have used this concept to avoid termite attack. The wood work is intact even after 10 years of construction. Most of the exterior pillars are concrete and not wood.
Its a beautiful house .. However some things could be done with lighter touch e.g. - French provincial look alike furniture ( drawing room ) does not go with the architype of the house , heavy wood work around lift wells is overdone , heavy bales of wood on the roof, to insert downlights - are unnecessary, they could have pealed back on the woodwork a little and made it less heavy -why- because it makes the place look too fussy and makes it look small , lastly bathrooms are a mismatch to the simple excellence of the house . In general, the layout, floors and everything else is fantastic - and it's a beautiful home - why embellish things that are beautiful as is . Celebrate India rich traditions in their simplicity because craftsmanship stands out (those pillars are stunning) , if not it gets subdued P/s my humble opinion .. I hope I have not offended anyone with it ... and if I did - apologies in advance - just articulated what pleased /did not please my eye.
@WatchouteverySunday1411 How do I get in touch with you? In the next year or so I am going to rebuild out ancestral home ( punjab ) and would love to include elements of chettnad architecture into it , especially the pillars , floors , courtyards and pooja areas
