Nice bag with good details. It's a true pity that The North Face does not make this bag any more. I went to a North Face store today and took a close look at the Rolling Thunder, and it's a weaker lesser bag. For example TNF claims that the sliding rails are now stronger than this model, but I tried them and they are weaker and are wobbly. Also, the handle at the end of the sliding rails are now much cheaper made and have a bad shape as well as the release buttons are now more intricate and not as easy to press. The new rails lets more water enter the bag when rolling along in heavy rain, and since there is now less inside liner than in your model, more water will get into the newer version, the current one of 2022. Also, the wheels are NOT rubber, but very bad hard plastic and the metal bits have gone, no plastic. The hard back on the new current model is also bigger and is very very thin, making it an easy prey for manhandling by cargo personel in airports. Sorry TNF, but you did a bummer! It is very obvious that TNF did all this to save cost, not make an even better bag. I will NOT buy one. This one you have her in your video is much nicer made and better looking. I guess I have to look for a second hand one instead, as I will not buy The North Face Rolling Thunder after having seen it in real life. Thanks for sharing! Btw. If you happen to have one of this old model sitting, I'd like to buy it. If so, please give me a note where I can get in contact. Btw. I have a normal present version of TNF Basecamp duffelbag and it lasts well so far. Kind regards.
I bought mine in 2017. The wheels cracked and peeled off this year (2024) after all those years of hard use. I had the wheels replaced not with originals (hard to find here in the Philippines) but a black rubber substitute.
Great review! Does it have these 2 compression straps on both sides? I checked the other videos and this bag has. Maybe what you got is the latest one? Thanks :)
Hey, The compression straps are inside the bag and there are two that go across the middle. The bag is brand new as of the end of 2018 so I assume it’s the latest model. Let us know if you have any more questions. :)
Great review, thanks alot 🙏
Pleasure, glad you liked it.

Se puede llevar como equipaje de cabina.
Can this be used as hand luggage on a plane (Carry on)
No, it’s too big unfortunately
Is this bag 26 inch tall?
Great video greetings ☺
Thanks! If you have any questions about the bag let us know :)
Anyone ever used this for carry-on ?
