Hi Nelson. Ms. Marvel (lots of good cards) and Cyclops (allies for all the aspects and Tactics Upgrades) are the ones I'm missing the most in both of your lists.
Gonna give it to Villain here. Deadpool is a great first pick. I don't necessarily care for 'Pool, but it provides multiple entirely new ways to deckbuild so objectively it's a really good pack. Doctor Strange helps make perfect defense viable, Scarlet Witch comes with overall great Justice cards, and Wolverine has arguably the strongest aggression allies in the game (although not offering much else imo). I'd have to look through Ant-Man's pack a little more, but I do like Nelson's pick of Cap over Ant-Man. Nelson's picks were great too. Wasp helps flesh out the basic cards really well, SP//dr introduces a new (and my favorite) archetype while giving support to the 14 hp heroes (who are generally weaker than others). Nova's cards introduce new archetypes too, and they are very strong, but they are maybe a little niche for me. I'm also not a huge fan of the Ham pick just because I remember thinking most of the cards were cards we have already seen, but I'd have to look to make sure. And Captain America is just plain good. So yeah, overall I think Villain won with Deadpool and Doctor Strange carrying, even though I love the Wasp and SP//dr picks a lot.
@@VillainTheory If FF creates a Defenders expansion, get ready for Defender Strange. FF could either add the Current DS into play with the defenders, or go “Non-Member”, creating Defender Strange.
Love these! As someone who can't (or rather shouldn't) buy every single hero, I always have to balance the hero I like to play vs the cards I need to deck build better decks
I think the funny thing with the Wiccan ally is that he's gotten stronger with the harder modulars and scenarios. Using him in a deck against earlier villains he always felt like just a chump blocker, but with the increase in boost icons on recent modulars he feels a lot less likely to whiff (which he did all the time for me). I need to pull him out and throw him into more Justice decks now. Speaking of which, I need to give Scarlet Witch a try again. And I'm still miffed that they didn't do a Scarlet Witch/Vision team-up card.
Oooh that’s so true! He can really throw down, although he always seems to wiff for me… 😂 And that’s so true and makes me think of a fun video/conversation! I’ll post something in a bit and make sure to credit you!
I used Wiccan for a huge win recently. Winning is winning, but I love when a minion deals the final blow! IMHO best cheap/budget friendly allies: Squirrel Girl Wiccan Boom Boom (I exhaust her to add boom counters and rarely use her basics. I normally save up to 2-4 counters)
This is just a fun video, and what is great is that you could probably do it so many times depending on what you're trying to build. Nelson, I think I would have bit the bullet and called Storm because I think most of her cards are necessary for an X-men leadership build (but I understand why you didn't). I also completely agree with Dr. Strange for skilled strike. Oh and wolverine for Aggressive energy and warrior skill. Again this is such a fun exercise.
I went with Doctor Strange’s pack. Arguably the best for adding to your Green cards. Red: Skilled Strike Green Ally: Iron Fist Yellow: Foiled! (I never hear about this card. This can save you when you’re 4 or less away from Threat thresh-hold). Most villains in stages 2 and 3, especially.
I give it to Nelson here. And yeah, Leadership archetypes in general tend of be very distinct with little overlap with other archetypes so yeah, each L pack tends to only benefit certain deck types.
if i had to advice a new players to start the game and boost up his coreset set with 5 small packs (without going on the X-Men side) i would hardly recommand the followings : -Captain America -Antman (with those two packs you can play both of those heroes in leadership and having a lot of fun around avangers allies) -SP DR : is quite obvious to play Iron Man in Protection with Repurpose (and SPDR is also quite a fun and amazingly designed hero) -Scarlet Witch : Not for the hero, wich i don't quite like that much, but just for the 3 multi-tasking wich are such a good card. -SpiderHam to boost Justice even more (and if you're liking the fancy side, well, spider ham is an OP beast)
Great vid Nelson! I just got into Marvel champions recently and i bought Wolverine, Spider Ham, Venom, Hero Pack 1 and Next evo (along with base game). I was about to get sinister motives but now, after seeing your vid, im wondering if i should get Hero Pack 2 instead. Thoughts? Thanks for your content!
I'm not Nelson but I have to say Hero Pack 2 is a fantastic bunch of heroes for deck-building and great heroes too. Sinister Motive is really good too, but a good few of its cards are specific for Web-Warriors. So, purely for deck-building, I would go all in on Hero Pack 2. Now, if you factor in the hero packs that came with Sinister Motives, then it's a tough call...
Wasp and Wolverine definitely are on my "to-get" list. I don't have a ton of aggression in my collections, and I think these two are going to get me to a good point on that scene.
Normally Villain wins these in my opinion, but he commited a massive sin right out the gate. Deadpool is an awful, awful pack. He helps nothing. He screwed over the X-Force cycle by bringing nothing to table. The fact that was not only a pick, but number one, is a little dizzying. Now, Nelson's pick of Spider-Ham is also pretty bad as he brings literally nothing new to the game, but at least it is useable. His pick for Wasp is amazing, and that Quincarrier is huge for so many AVENGER trait characters. His Captain America pick is solid, and while I don't love SP//DR as a character her Protection support is great as well. Villain's Doctor Strange pick is also very strong, as I am addicted to Desperate Defense and wouldn't complain if it got reprinted AGAIN. I disagree with the Nelson pick for Nova as that pack has waaaaay too many specific and niche cards. Villain's pick for Scarlet is also massively solid, as not only is her Justice support strong, but Spiritual Meditation is great for several other heroes, including the upcoming Magik for people jumping into the game with the new expansion. Good picks on both sides, but that Deadpool pick is like throwing the match. Please, do NOT poison a new player by suggesting a one off meme is a good way to expand their collection. Nelson wins by forfeit.
Haha! Fair enough! I do feel the need to say I clarify in the video that, just as we finish talking about it, that I wouldn't recommend it to a new player.
Spider Ham has way too many reprints but they are good reprints, which is good for new players and Overwatch is arguably the best J card in the game. It's a good pick.
Thank you for watching! Hope this helps you expand your collection! Who do you think won the draft? Are there any packs we missed?
Hi Nelson. Ms. Marvel (lots of good cards) and Cyclops (allies for all the aspects and Tactics Upgrades) are the ones I'm missing the most in both of your lists.
Great video! I think Nelson nailed it with Wasp and SP//DR pack right up front! Those were the first two picks that came to my mind too 😅😅
Wooo! Thank you!
Gonna give it to Villain here.

I like your rational more than your conclusion 😉
Thanks for watching!!
Marvel champions aside, I was imaging if these hero’s fought a 5v5 and I can’t help but feel bad for Nelson’s team lol
😂 😂 that’s so true
Haha! Honestly though, Nelson's team kinda strong too. But Doctor Strange in a team? Got 'em.

Scarlet Witch and Vision teamup card? #marvelchampions #marvelchampionslcg

IMHO best cheap/budget friendly allies:
Squirrel Girl
Wiccan
Boom Boom (I exhaust her to add boom counters and rarely use her basics. I normally save up to 2-4 counters)
Great choices! I would say:
1. Deadpool
2. SP//DR
3. Wolverine
4. War Machine
5. Captain America

One Way or Another + Even the Odds + Overwatch is my favorite Justice combo in a 4-player game.
So freaking epic!!

Excellent choice!
Solid victory for Villian Theory in this one.
Love this! Awesome content guys!
Thank you!
Villain won, simply because i already own 4 out of the 5, as opposed to 2 from Nelson's list. Villain is suggesting I spend less money.😅
Fair!!
I give it to Nelson here.
And yeah, Leadership archetypes in general tend of be very distinct with little overlap with other archetypes so yeah, each L pack tends to only benefit certain deck types.
Woo!! Nice
And yea! I feel like we get little morsels every once in a while!
Great pick
My 3 picks would have been SP//dr, Wolverine, and Nova.
Excellent picks!!
Nelson for the win!!!! It basically came down to whether I can get behind Deadpool or not
Let’s gooooo!!!!!
These drafts are always so fun!
I’m so glad! We love recording them!
Great topic!
if i had to advice a new players to start the game and boost up his coreset set with 5 small packs (without going on the X-Men side) i would hardly recommand the followings :
-Captain America
-Antman
(with those two packs you can play both of those heroes in leadership and having a lot of fun around avangers allies)
-SP DR : is quite obvious to play Iron Man in Protection with Repurpose (and SPDR is also quite a fun and amazingly designed hero)
-Scarlet Witch : Not for the hero, wich i don't quite like that much, but just for the 3 multi-tasking wich are such a good card.
-SpiderHam to boost Justice even more (and if you're liking the fancy side, well, spider ham is an OP beast)
Hey Nelson and VT, great video!

Oooh good one, prep cards are awesome!

Oh nice!! Both are fantastic to pick up!!
uh oh no one has the same packs. this is worrying.
Haha if someone drafts a pack the other person can’t choose it anymore 😊
