Quick Summary: Holding L2/LT before the pass is helpful when moving off-ball. It will give you better catch animations to set your feet faster, and will not drag you far away from the passing point. It might not be that helpful if you are standing still because you are all set already anyway. Please leave any recommendation for a topic!
I use this all the time, only one problem . If you are on the hash holding LT and the Pg passes it to the corner and you are still holding LT.. your guy on the hash just shift out of bounds . Very annoying or a quick extra pass
Please re-test the broken badges! I think it would also be helpful if you could see if the photo or a tribute this year is tied towards close shot or driving layup, or a combination. They seem broken in a bad way this year
What about after a dribble combo @nba2ktutes
I know that weight plays a effect om your speed but do height plays a effect on your strength like a 99 strength from a 7ft player vs a 6'1 player?
@@rodplays3726more so weight and strength go hand and hand
I remember Ronnie or Mike Wang tweeting about holding L2 or LT back in 2K20 to boost or help with catch and shoots, but I’ve always thought it was a placebo effect. I tried it myself back then and didn’t think it made a difference, but starting 2K22 when I tried it once again, I see did a noticeable difference. Not quite sure if it ever used to offer a green boost, but you definitely get better catch animations and consistent timing for shooting.
This is a great tip Tutes! Especially when you combine it with the advice you gave in your other video pertaining to catch an shoot situations.
May not speed things up but the animation is way better for timing without meter in my experience, good tip!
Pretty sure I’ve already been doing this instinctively but knowing it makes a difference now I will definitely be bringing it more to my game now
what are your stats?
94% win online basic mechanics sad people need to make a video to point it out.
Balenci is a bot,
Same comment on videos where people buy views
In fifa everyone also holds L2 before and while shooting but due to a different reason, an L2 shot is way too op leading to an almost guaranteed goal 😔
Please do double clutch animations with certain layup styles. Which activate it more and which are more effective
Word
Tutes!!! You giving em too much game now. But most shooters should know this already. Keep grinding 💪🏾
This is def finna up my game. I hadn’t played 2k since 2k12 and a lot of the current mechanics weren’t in the game yet. I definitely don’t remember this one.
I started playing 2k22 like June or July of last year on Game Pass and purchased 2k23 on pre order. Since then I’ve worked my way up to playing on HOF and grinded my player to a 99 overall.
Overall it has been a pretty good experience getting back into playing 2k. It’s also been pretty dope understanding how certain badges not only unlock/raise different abilities, but also how they unlock different animations.
Wha u play on
@@raymayo7044 obviously Xbox… he said game pass bruh ctfu
True, I tried it out when I saw that comment on your other video and it does work. I also used to fake out my defender and cut to the basket for an open 2.
Im in shock. How tf are so many people saying they’ll just now try it??? It’s been a mechanic for as far as I can remember 💀 I’ve been doing this for years
Relax not tht serious
Nah yall late
Good job sweat
@@BANEfromdaWoodz 😂😂😂
brooooo I swear to God I’m blown away. Even my guys didn’t know about this small feature 🤦🏽♂️ lol
Thanks for sharing tutes ✊🏾👊🏾🐐
I had suspected this was the case!! Thank you for proving it!!
Thank you so much 2k tutes this is very helpful
Yes i new it, thx tutes, ive been doing this for awhile
Can you test jumshots like last year when u figured out that jumpshot 25 was the fastest and had the least amount of contest when shooting. Keep up the good work 💪🏽
Been doing this since 2k20. It definitely helps.
I was gon comment the same thing
I’m sayin I can’t believe people didn’t know this
Since 2k14 for me 😂 been playing it before then tho just don’t think the mechanic was in it yet
I’ve been playing since 2k16 and never knew this
@@ametts9673I aint play since 2k14 I didnt know this. They even changed the alleys
When your moving off ball press left stick down briefly until your feet are completely set. This will prevent you from being sucked in when your getting a pass on the move.
Bruh is Deven you’re first name!? If so that’s my name and I have yet to meet someone with the same spelling 😮
bro I was getting mad bc it keeps giving me different timing but with this I been consistent thanks g
Wow I never even thought of this. Thanks for this one!!!
not a problem!
I do that in practice when u do shooting drills never thought to do it in a game.
been doin dis work good asl💯
When standing still it does help with leasing the chance of getting a bad catch animation
Awesome content as always. Thanks so very much.
Can you see what kind of boost pull up precision has on pull up jumpers and what impact does negative impact have on lowering contests
Never knew this, glooks on this!
Been doing this 🔥🔥🔥 it helps Fasure
I been doing this lol I’m glad ppl realize figured it out
Needs tips for isolation shooting creating that space to get a perfect release
It eliminate that wild catch animation I believe
Bruh….I watch dis video yesterday and I played online I won by 30 points😂😂😂😂Before using this, I was missing so many shots and very frustrated asf‼️‼️‼️ Thank you so much‼️‼️‼️New SUB‼️‼️‼️
Tutes giving too much sauce 🤫
Good game tip!!
Tutes! Can you test if the success rate of making passes from the front court in transition is based off of pass accuracy or break starter badge? I’m a PG and a random center gave me the ball after a rebound in rec, and break starter popped up as soon as i advanced the ball to a teammate without me grabbing the rebound initially.
If ur C gives the ball up without moving and you throw the pass quickly, you'll be the break starter, not the C
Oh, my dude, this is amazing.
I told someone this months ago and to tap it while dribbling for different animations & canceling combos
Been trying this now for a week and my shooting 3% is now 51%. (Let go of LT when you catch the ball) most effective, kept fading away sometimes
Does that help with layups too?
This can help with the random fades you get when running
When I use to do it, it use to kinda be a delay and if the person is closing out, your QFS is slower
Do you think the meter you are using in this video is better than the default
Hey do u hold L2 all the way threw or release it after u catch the ball??
Great tip. Didn't know this
I caught a better feeling when shooting with L2 thought I was the only one
If you ever play pro am this is like the 1st thing people tell you been a lifesaver since 2k19
Thank you
Can you test this with bad catch animations? Like when someone passes out of a shot with no bail out?
does it pop spot up shooter faster?
Been on this 🔥🔥
As an off ball shooter thank you so much for this!
Lol I been doing this since nba lovebdamn good shit
I only use L2 for quick stops before shots after dribbling to not get a fade
Yeah this has been valuable since they started penalizing holding shoot before the catch. But what i hate about it this year is it makes you move all the time for no reason. You cant hold it for no reason. You gotta try to time it when you anticipate a pass.
What if someone made a stretch big doing this would it be op 🤔
Effective for catch and shoot, but when you catch the ball and move first and then shoot it's not effective?
Shooting with the analog gives u a better green & make percentage
It still does...right.
Damn this is crazy man
Can we get a re test on corner specialist?
Does this work in play now or online mode ?
That's so true bro I thought I was the only one that knew that 😅
I play rec almost daily and on the move 3s are faster than when u stand let the catch animation finish then shoot
GONE HAVE 2 TRY THIS💯😮💨I DO A LOT OF OFF BALL MOVEMENT🤔😈
Is this only for my player or my park?
No stats if it helps out making more jumpshots? :(
Have people just been standing there looking off into space 😂
Yea my man told me few years ago 🎉🎉🎉
Heat ❤
This was a thing since 2k21, and i think you mentioned it back then too.
Idk man as a post scorer I’m always holding LT and sometimes it fucks my layups meter
I'm thinking shot creating take makes it where u don't need to use it as much I don't know
I knew about this since 2k19-20 😂😂 it’s so crazy how it’s now being discovered
As a shooter in those games you werent punished bc the passs accuracy of the other player was low
goat🔥🔥
Yes this work I been doing this fr
See if you get less Fumble Catches or bad wind ups with L2
I've always used l2. But be careful cause it can make u pivot if not properly timed and cause a shxtty animation
I’ll try this. Often time the game just moves me from the wing where I was actually open, to the corner where my teammate is and in front of a defender. It’s so random, hope this helps
You probably got hella stick drift no one deals with what youre talking about
It’s just the animation not because of drift stick
@@thebigmanufacturerliterally everyone deals with what he’s talking about. It especially happens on the fast break. You can stop at the hash and the pass will force you to catch it in the corner standing on top of your teammate and now you’re not open anymore
@@thebigmanufacturer yeah bro what game you playing? Must not be current gen because I be getting literally teleported when I'm receiving passes.
I'll be open at the 3pt. My teammate will pass and I'll be inside the 3pt line because it pulls me in. Never happened in other 2ks
@@thebigmanufacturereveryone deals with it has nothing to do with stick drift🤦🏽♂️💀
Dope
so do you still hold L2 while shooting ?
I notice far less windup when I use this standing too
I concur
It weird cause the last few 2ks it's been r2 for me to set my feettappin r2 when running will stop me to pull up
This gotta be a direct shot at allcity🤣🤣🤣🤣
oh what's the connection?
Edit: I just checked. It was just a coincidence we got similar topic. Our uploads were 30 minutes away and it is impossible to produce videos on that span (that includes test, edit, thumbs, upload time, etc.)
Bruh stop starting drama. Tutes and all city will figure it out. It will all work out in the end
All city shouts this channel out a lot so idk
All city stay stealing content bro and it’s getting ridiculous and annoying
@@youngfly8432 supper annoying. It’s everyday frfr
🔥🔥
Been using this
I’ve been doing this since 2K18 it doesn’t help this year . For some reason holding L2 makes my player on his own . He steps out of bounds or inside the arc when I spot up and sometimes runs towards the ball . I’m starting to hate this games
Ironic i just watched City’s video on this and wondered if someone could test it.
I got a 83 3 point rating but it is a little harder to shoot from the hash. I used the 3 point sleeve and the difference is night and day.. I can green much easier and beyond the hash. Is there any way you could see the difference between the 83 to 84 etc. 3 point rating? That 1 point made a huge difference and could be a sweet spot
That may be when the 3pt rating goes to A+, not sure if it’s 84 or 85
@@almightyso4547 ok
Also having limitless range on a at least bronze will help u hit from the hash better
Will this deactivate claymore
So does this only work when you’re usering off ball? If you pass to the cpu is there any way to make their catch and shoot better?
most cpu will do this if they are open. best way to help cpu catch and shoot better is to icon pass (R1/RB) then use the left stick to tell your teammate where to lead to be open on the catch
logical. imma try
Haven't done it on any 2k but then again I am an iso dribbler with an 86 win percentage
😂bruh I always do this to make the defender step up so I can back door I didn’t think it made a difference
Can u test Johnathan Isaac base
Hey what is the name of the instrumental used in this video?
I do this out of a pick and pop situation
Ayy I’ve done this for a couple of years
I've been doing this and now everyone knows about it
been doing this since 2k20🔥
also sets a cue to your players that you have and open shot without having to come on the mic and tell them
I been doing this since 2k on the dreamcast Yaull new gens so late
I’ve done this since like 2k20 fr
Shhh! Don’t give away the secrets 😂
