It was great to get updates of your beautiful plants! I’m going to get those 3 ferns; they’re awesome! I really can’t believe ppl could critique you on how you pronounce a plant name; it’s not that serious. Ppl pronounce my name differently in front of me & I don’t even correct them. Don’t let anyone cause you to change the way you operate your hobby & channel. Thanks Nora!
Love this video! Especially the update on the Peperomia Shumi Red! I've got one in quarantine at the moment waiting to be transitioned. As per some of the other comments, I'd also like a video on "mineral based substrate" as it's something I haven't played with yet!
Lovely to see how plants are doing. The Maiden Hair Fern is a tricky one. I couldn't get it to grow in Leca either. I have it in a mix of Leca and MAB Grow. For future reference if it struggles again but the roots are okay, burn 🔥it back to nothing, place in a sunny window and it will bounce back.
Wow Nora am obsessed with ur channel . Am not quite experienced enough to try Leca just yet . But I love watching you with ur amazing beautiful green babies xx
@@TheLecaQueenI have bought LECA balls . I’ve soaked them an placed them round the top on a few plants . I am goin take the next step this week. Do we leave water in the bottom and how often do we change the fluid
Your plants are amazing! Just an idea that I had while watching this split screen video: You could get a raised pedestal on a turn table (lazy susan), and I think that would make it 1 step easier to show the multiple sides of your beauties. All my planty love from USA! I strive for my moss poles to be like yours someday!
Great channel? Could you please do a video about leca vs pon? Also, how would you recommend people living in apartments to clean leva, considering it can clog up pipes if rinsed in kitchen sink or shower?
I gave up on the peperomia schumi red.. It just kept dying, I kept buying new ones and then realised that I was stressing myself out so much with it with leca wasn't worth my spending hours a week trying to save it. I am interested in the mineral based growing medium though. I have seen pon, but it's quite fine and ridiculously expensive. I have a giant bag of pumice and another big bag of volcanic rock. I might actually give it another try with my own mix of 'pon' mineral mix. Maidenhair is my nemesis, along with fittonia's. I have been trying to grow one for well over a decade. I do like yours with pon or mineral mix though. Will absolutely have to give another one a try.
That African violet is so juicy, it looks like bok choy! 😂 Also thank you for showing the _Caladium_ 'Pink Symphony'. I don’t think enough ppl showcase their caladiums growing successfully in semi-hydro. We need that confirmation! To know it works. Then there are things like Croton, Aphelandra, etc., that I feel like nobody ever attempts or discusses. Lol.
I don't find all plants thrive in leca or semi-hydro set ups. Some plants will just always do better in potting mix. Maybe the pepperomia is like that?
I don't think so. Possibly not all plants thrive in leca but they do in other substrates like pon. I think for most plants it is about managing the reservoir
It’s so sad when r plants are not doin so well I have a calathea orbifolia am doin everything I can to save her but it’s not looking good I have changed her from soil to orchard mix with a little perlite an compost . Every leaf has crisped up an her stem are coming apart . I have her stems supported with sticks an cable ties . I have even bought a humidifier for her specifically. I keep trying to save her but it’s not looking good . I may of overwatered her the first few weeks but when I repotted her , the roots were white so I have hope xx
@@paulawilkinson6341 I have a calathea orbifolia doing phenominally in the leca queens special sauce. It's loving it. Planning on transitioning to leca or maybe pon in a month or so.

Thank you so much. You know how keyboard warriors can be. Sometimes I just don't want or need the aggrevation!
I see n this video among others and now I am on a Leca journey

Love this one! we need a vid on "mineral based substrate" please! What's in it? how do we make it? Love your work!
Great suggestion!
Thanks Nora. So much to learn for all of you videos.

Thank you, I do have one of those, I will use it more often, the only problem is those things have a weight restriction!

Some plants just do not want to play ball!!!
Hi Nora, I was wondering what are you using as your catch pots? I keep staring at them trying to figure it out...lol
I use plant pot liners and cover them with black tape to keep the light out and prevent algae.
Do you get them on Amazon? Most of the ones I find are too short.
Bunnings in Australia sorry 😞
@@TheLecaQueen thanks, I wish we had them here 😞
I’d propagate the tops of the leggy begonia and put them all on a trellis. All that gorgeous purple!
That is a fine idea 💡
Thank you Nora for the update! It makes me so happy to see so much growth in leca❤

Thank you. To be honest, I am not too hot for crotons. I might try them just for you 😏 🥰

Can you share what is the substrate you use for the “Calathea White Fusion”? Thank You
A mineral substrate a bit like lechuza pon.
What do you mean by "mineral based substrate?" Is that a type of potting soil?
Something like lechuza pon or diy mixtures that may include zeolite, pumice, things like that.
Peggy how is Pete from Pete vs plants? I have sent him messages but no response and I haven't seen any videos from him in a year.
Did you mean me, Nora? Who is Peggy? By the way, Pete is good.

Where do you get your pots

Most of my plants are doing very well, but a few are just alive but not really growing. I just keep trying.
