I wish a lot more RC videos were like this one. Straight to the point without having to watch some dude try and open the box with a spoon for 10 minutes. Awesome!
I got myself the black BLX a few weeks ago. For the money its amazing what you get. Full metal driveline, Brushless 3s capable, 50mph, aluminum hexes, aluminum adjustable turnbuckles, 4WD, aluminum threaded shocks, its insane. I love it and have driven it more than anything else I have. The size is great too. They can do a decent amount outside and really take a beating. Love drifting it around then street too, but kills the tires.
The plastic outdrives of the Groms were always their weak point, aspecially for the Granite. Not mentioned is that the brushless Mojave Grom comes with the upgraded metal diffs. In another review, it was mentioned that at full throttle, you're only going to get about 5 minutes of run time on the OE battery. My strong suggestion is to buy the black and gold brushless, get yourself some larger batteries, and then turn down the throttle a bit if needed to suit your terrain. I believe that you will save money and be happier over the long run by going brushless.
I was at the hobby shop like 2 week ago and saw one of these RC cars but it was purple and pink so didn't pick one up and just got the new jato . It's slow and Handel's well and have plan for it like upgrades 👍👍
Would you give a kid that is new to RC a car that does 50mph? We had brushed Grasshoppers in the 80s and we was happy. Kids today dont know how good they have it when it comes to RC. Shame they are all stuck indoors playing Call of Duty.
I picked up a Grom a few days ago...but, not the Mojave. I went for the Typhon Grom 223S BLX. However, it is also "part Mojave" now, as I've installed the Mojave Grom bumper braces, and front & rear bumpers. I could be wrong...but, of my understanding is correct, those should be the only parts that differentiate the Mojave Grom chassis from the Typhon Grom chassis. Either way, great vehicles. 👍👍
@magnusstone I stand corrected (as I said, "I could be wrong"). The main chassis part is slightly longer (204mm vs 200mm)...yet, interestingly, the two vehicles have the same 196mm wheelbase (which is why I assumed the majority of the rest of the chassis was the same). Not that I am trying to 'argue' (I am not trying to argue, or create any lengthy discussion on the matter)...but, as for the battery tray, you are incorrect - both have the same 101mm x 31mm x 21mm dimensions (again, from Horizon Hobby's own information).
@@ninthislandrc yes that’s true! But the Mojave has a piece of foam in the battery tray that you can remove to fit a longer pack IIRC. Regardless, a weird move to create different chassis for the same wheelbase. I’m guessing the reason is the body mounting system because the side of the chassis flows with the body
@magnusstone Yeah, the buggy body is much slimmer, and Arrma thought that the looks were important enough to make a new chassis. The Typhon looks like a blast; I hope you enjoy it.
I think it’s kinda of dumb that they don’t include the battery or charger in the black one but charge the same price. I went with the other combination so I could get the battery and the charger. I did buy a better battery for the vehicle separately a GenZ battery because I have a GenZ charger.The platform of the car is great and I love it.
Depends greatly on use case. If you have the space to build a small fitness mat/RCP track in the house...the mini-b is a ton of fun. It has seen more use for me then my bashers. If youre goal is to be outside bashing, jumping in the dirt etc the Grom will be a much better option.

the whole vid is a unboxing!
@Sabbath-666 Appreciate that!
@pooljunki1 didn't spend most of the vid trying to open the box though did he! 🙄
@@Sabbath-666 No one wants to see you sweat🤣😆

@guest6423 Totally agree! Even for beginners, the hobby is over brushed RC's.
Merry Christmas Neil! The brushless mojave grom is absolutely sweet for it's size! I have it on my list
@riffraffsrc Merry Christmas to you and your family Bob🎄 That BLX one is really good. I threw in a 3s and ran it on 75%. It was a rocket.
I put the Granite grom bumpers on my Typhon Groms, and also lights.
every new RC should be Brushless.
@coryjamesc YES!
Got lucky and local hobby shop let me exchange for BLX. Was unopened for kiddos and thought same thing, just run on 50 percent 🤘🏻
@wyldebill7248 Right on👍
Nice man !!! The black and gold looks killer !! 🔥
@kaosr.c It's a beast on 3s too!
Does not disappoint!! Merry merry!!
@MauzyrockRC Appreciate that! Merry Christmas🎄

@chrisricotta7063 The BLX version is like a rocket. I'm waiting to see how the VXL Jato fairs.

@shelly6482 True! Yes, new to the hobby could handle it. Put it on 2s, set the throttle switch to 50% and it's actually slower than the brushed model.
Bro you are so miserable, go touch grass.

So interestingly the Mojave and Typhon use totally different chassis with the Mojave being slightly longer with a bigger battery tray.

@pedellbills130 They actually don't charge the same price. It's $30 less. Great truck!
I don’t think my shop was 🤔. I will check when I go back there.
Quick answer Grom or the Micro B ?
Typhon grom blx 💯
@SIRICKO That ability to go a few more places than the Micro B, got me selecting the Grom.

Brushless micro B with losi nascar tires all around if your running on asphalt.
👍🏾💯
@CoachD386 Yessir, Merry Christmas to you and yours brother!
