Baja Ferries is a Mexican shipping company dedicated to Ferry transportation across the Sea of Cortes, its headquarters are located in La Paz, Baja California Sur.

Never been on a ferry. I do not plan on it either. I can swim, and not afraid to do so, but I have never needed to use one. Everywhere I ride, does not have a ferry route included.... Maybe I am a cheapskate and avoid all tolls, ferry's, and highways. Just to make the ride less stressful. I tend to like riding and not stopping so much.
This was a fun one... just because it wasnt a quick on and off the boat.
A bit pricey, but to get where we were going we would of paid more for gas and probably 2 nights at hotel. Saved us a bunch of time.

So I've heard from some others that the cost of the TIP depends a lot on how new/value of the bike. From my understand when scooter tramp scotty goes in there due to his being a 91(i think) Harley that he doesn't pay hardly anything because the value is so low. I laughed at the end at your frustration with google maps. Because of the crap it was doing with you is why I'm no longer using it and switched to OSMand.

I need to look into a secondary GPS unit.
The zumo that came with the bike I’m on is ancient.
What did the inspection entail? Other than them looking through your bags?
Just have the TIP we received when crossing into MX, and all paper work in order.
They take a quick look at the VIN # make sure it matches the with the Registration and TIP
So what all do you need to ride in Mexico? Passport and the trip insurance?
If you stay in Baja that's it. If you to the mainland, you need to do a temp vehicle import and pay a deposit.
Is it necessary to purchase ferry tickets ahead of time?
I do not believe so, we just wanted to be sure we would be getting on that day.
With the bikes you would probably be ok doing it same day, but you never know.
