Hunter X Hunter: Chimera Ant Arc | THE BEST ANIME ARC
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 28 сен 2024
- The Chimera Ant Arc features some of the best storytelling, characterisation and conclusion to any Shonen anime that I have seen. This arc impacts several characters like Gon, Killua, Meruem, Netero and more. In this analysis I want to focus on the growth or regression of Gon, as well as the unique development of the antagonist Meruem who develops a heartwarming bond with a girl called Komugi.
Hunter X Hunter quickly became a long time favourite series of mine, I hope that this video helps to convey the passion and love that I have for Yoshihiro Togashi's masterpiece.

I now know it isn't pronounced as Hunter "EX" Hunter... Have mercy on me LOL
It's Hunter "EHHHXXX" Hunter
im gonna go with the gif argument on this...
if you want it pronounced "jif" spell it "jif" not "gif".
as long as its spelled "hunter x hunter", and not "hunter - hunter", its a perfectly valid pronounciation.
@@4lc4p0rn I call it just Hunter Hunter.
@@ryosyoaki8172 so does the author, so nothing wrong with that, but he also decided to put an "x" in the title, so there's nothing wrong with pronouncing it either. :)

HxH is the only show that makes you tear up because an ant girl and lobster man are accepted back into human society.
That scene where the little girl finally sees her mother again, and we finally realize who/what this out of place servant ant actually was, literally made me cry. A grown ass man alone in his room had to hold back sobbing because of that scene.
That's when I break down too. Specially when said ant girl reunites with her mom and finally breaks silence to cry. Every. Single. Time
Damn I just hope they both get reunited with Colt, the ant that was previously her brother!
Meruem dies with Komugi at his side; I'm holding back tears
Reina gets reunited with Mom: My wife starts sobbing, I'm comforting her and then I'm sobbing and she's handing me the tissue.
One of the most heartwarming scenes I've ever experienced in any fiction, read, watched or listened to.

Dee Mac Fr I was really impressed that a fictional non human character made to destroy humans came to be forgiving and accepting of humans and what they are but then it disappointed me that a fictional character like that could be a better human than any other humans understanding not everyone is like a a select few people being bad especially nowadays with the acab movement not understanding a select few humans shouldn’t represent a group in general especially when you want to criticize generalization towards your group of people but use it against another group of people then pulling the victim card saying you wouldn’t understand assuming the world is only harmful towards you and is revolves around you refusing other people’s pain and only caring for your own and your groups rather than acknowledging others pain but begging others to acknowledge your pain then killing other people and continuing to laugh at their death then ask other to remember the death of someone from your group and not expecting backlash

my favourite is the CELL VS MASTER ROSHI fight scene, its so unique.
It was pretty cool how Meruem and Gon switched mentalities towards the end of the arc. In the beginning of Meruems birth, he treated every ant as mere rubble and only saw them as slaves for him where as Gon gave mercy to them (Didn't want to kill them). During the palace invasion when Gon confronts Pitou, he speaks to her very condescendingly and demanding extremely similar to how Meruem did at the start of the arc. If she did not follow Gons commands, he would get angry. If she did not follow Meruems commands, he would also get angry. This ongoing parallel was displayed frequently but subtley such as when Gon even sat down in the same position Meruem sits. Togashi really created a masterpiece hidden subtly throughout the show.
the same with reiner and eren but with waaay more depth. If you like something like this and haven‘t watched the anime/read the manga I spuld recommend it too you. It‘s called aot (Attack On Titan
Gon is a garbage character, and the only parallel between Meruem and Gon's development is while Meruem's development was original, subverting a cliche, well executed and the fight between Netero and Meruem ACTUALLY felt like a earned fight, Gon's was unoriginal, same old "someone dear to me died, I am mad now" with plot armor dragon ball wishes making it even worse as if his transformation alone wasn't a pathetic cope out, same old cliche with some dark music behind it to make it look fake deep.
@@hydrocy.9165 Wow first wrong opinion in the history of ever
@@marxmanw3877 though not too far off the mark.
@@hydrocy.9165 Meruem's development isn't all that original tho. The unexpected simple girl tames the monster nobody could destroy. It's literally the plot of 60% of the romance stories on the market. It's just the beauty and the beast being retold yet again, but inside a shonen manga.

Meruem really did have some of the greatest character development I've seen. He went from a monster who murdered a child to becoming sympathetic to the point his death was tragic.
What makes it even more amazing is that it all happens within the span of a few weeks, but it still makes complete sense and is 100% believable
Or from hating a character to at least understanding him and having sympathy for them. I’m still glad he died tho lol
It also becomes a complete foil to Gon's character development within the arc. Beginning from a reasonable man becoming a complete monster who would even threat innocent people to fulfil his goal.

And I'll still never forgive him for murdering that kid 😤

@Carlos Domingues idk if this is a joke or not
I heard somewhere that “Killua is not nice, but is good. Gon is nice, but is not good”, and this aspect of their characters is demonstrated really well in this arc.
Gon just doesnt care about killua but killua cares about gon more than anybody
gon represents the darkness in the light and killua the light in darkness
@@shankyt9484 not actually Gon is light and darkness . Which part he shows depends on situation . He isn’t bad neither is he good , he is just a immature kid with god like potential who hasn’t realised how the world works and what is good or bad.
@Queen_Bratz EXACTLY. A common trope is to put teens and preteens into perilous situations where they are the chosen one spoken in prophecy, or the descendant of some magical race, and they just go along with it.
@Queen_Bratz I remember understanding the implications of death
It was our first dog and she died a few years back, her son was still with us so i never thought about it but when he died
That hurt by a lot. It's like seeing something disappearing forever and you'll have no power to change it or even atleast interfere in it
"The Apple Dosen't Fall Far From The Tree". U see Gon act like his selfish father trying to handle things on his own but u also see Killua show the compassion his father has for his family.

@@Enchilada_Man The wand, that he draws against pitou is a particularly powerful weapon. I think it was what allowed him to be reborn as a chimera ant.

One of my favorite things about Meruem's death is that he was defeated by The Poor Man's Rose that was deemed "inhumane" by the rest of the world. The only way that they could've defeated the monsters would be to become even greater monsters themselves. It really is a great arc about what truly defines Man or Monster
Edit: Honestly how does this have over a thousand likes?
@@williamthekiller7219 Well the weapon is seen as in humane as it’s purpose is to mass destruction. Similar to the atomic bomb.

Everybody knows that USA dropped those bombs
Similar to how Commander Erwin of the Survey Corps had to abandon his humanity and sacrifice a lot of his soldiers over many years to learn how to combat the Titans who were an unstoppable abs seemingly unknowable existential threat to humanity.
To stop inhuman monsters they had to tap into the capacity for monstrosity that abides deep in the human heart.
Everything is a master to something. If you're a mouse, then. at is a monster. If you're a human, then a cat is a cute friend.

I really liked this arc because it shows how gifted people aren't always the strongest. Gon was gifted but he had a lack of experience which makes a big difference unlike how Netero trained for years. I loved how it doesn't always focus on Gon and that not all protagonist have the power to defeat the antagonist.
I love how Gon was the light that shone so bright over Killua, but then Killua was that light that shone over other people, that being Ikalgo, Alluka and the "thing". The pure development on his character its just amazing.
Another thing i love and preach about the series. The development on the secondary characters, being ikalgo, knucles, etc. Not only in the CA but during all the series, like in GI with Razor or Binolt. In one episode they make you feel for the dude that its a serial killer, they humanize him, just as they do with people coming from metor city. Even after that you have the founder of the NGL, Gyro. The attention to develop an entire world.
One last thing, the fact that A LOT of the "fights" don't get resolved by pure force or power during all the series, its excellent. That being the razor fight, genthru or gon vs Gido in HA.
Just magnificent writing all over.
i remember reading the manga and having to wait 6 months or more to get 1 or 2 episodes.
Also, the fact that a man so capable of drawing amazing stuff (like gon with the tiger behind, or the netero and meruem fight) also was capable of drawing some of the worst panels i've ever seen on a manga. I know it was due to stress and shit, but damn.
That's how you know you have good writing. The story was SO fucking good that i did not care that some panels looked like drawed by a 4 yo. You read them anyway.
I would honestly just read a scrip of the Dark continent and whatever more he has.
@@usotutu The manga is coming back!!!!
The thing is Killua saves go more time than Gon saves him.
So many shonen and anime in general skimp out on the secondary characters or give them stereotypical traits which honestly makes it so lame to watch. Hxh really makes many of their characters feel integral to the arc and multifaceted, that's what sets it apart from the rest.
@@wheretao6960 Not only makes them "feel" they are integral to it. And it's a beauty.
This arc ripped my heart out and replaced it with a fucking apple
LMFAISUAOSIOA APPLE? GOOONNEEEE
Cats have no distinction between "playful" and "cruel" so while we see them as being a contrast, to Pitou they're one and the same.
@Queen_Bratz Actually, the most successful hunters are the dragonflies, with a roughly 95% hunt success ratio.
@Queen_Bratz You are basically dead on about cats. Just to add a bit more context, the basic house cat can stalk, catch, and kill the widest range of other species on earth.
This can be because they are really great at it, but it could also be the biodiversity of small creatures in 1st world areas. All real predators that would occupy the top of the food chain are kept out of our yards(for the most part), so the stat is still a tad misleading.
Cats occupy a position that is equivalent to an 25 year old high school senior that was repeatedly failed to keep him on the football team. They are the largest (mostly) free roaming predator. Anything larger gets put down or pushed out.
The other side of that statistic is that larger predators just dont have the same range of prey. A tiger isnt going to stalk anything below a certain size, and there is a much wider range of small animals. Tigers are completely capable of catching groundhogs, they just dont want or need to. They will focus on a handful of prey that keeps them fed without too much effort.
@Queen_Bratz That isn't even remotely true! Even the most successful cats only have around a 20% success rate when hunting. When you consider the insect world and aquatic life, cats are nowhere near the top of the list...
Y'all are so lucky wathing the chimera ant arc for the first time with the 2011 show and not reading it week to week
"week to week" LOL with all those hiatuses we were lucky to even get a chapter back to back
LMAO I know, right? Torture. We'd be left at a cliffhanger for months, without knowing when the hiatus will end.

Damn that would have been painful. That arc in the series had made episodes and so many narratives.
Fucking 8 YEARS to finish a single arc, honestly, I would just dump it, and forget about it until I would eventually remember it again. Thank goodness I watched it in 2018.
The Chimera Arc is such an emotional roller coaster. Sometime you’ll be super hyped and happy, then you’ll just be sad and depressed and over again.
Yeah like in those 10 episodes of narration
I feel you're alittle disingenuous to Pitou. I mean she did start as a psychopathic monster, but she was beginning to learn empathy. I like to think that she fought Gon not because she wanted to, but because she felt she had to; to protect Meruem.
I agree, I really felt bad for Pitou when Gon was rag dolling her. That was completely brutal, and I never expected to feel bad for Pitou.
@@evangelionl0vr857 I did too. She was becoming a great character. Seemed really empathetic when she apologized to Gon as well. I felt bad for her, but I knew she deserved it. 😢
@@evangelionl0vr857 I loved seeing that piece of shit get wrecked. I wish Pouf had a more brutal death because I absolutely hated that character. So annoying.
With that said, I did feel sad with how Meruem and Komugi died. So sad, but very poetic.
@@atomicpunk2360 Pouf was an annoying prick, but a well written one. I had no remorse for his death and like you I kinda would have been happier if it had been a more brutal one.
However Pitou wasn't at all a piece of shit. When they attacked and killed Kite they were acting based on instincts. They really just wanted to hunt and play, similar to a cat. As they matured and spent time around Meruem they realized the same thing he did, that senseless slaughter is not right. In the end I truly think Pitou was very sorry for killing Kite, and was also remorseful when they told Gon they were going to have to kill him.
That's what made this arc so incredible. Two of the main villains went from completely evil sociopaths with zero regard for human lives, to complex individuals who started to see that all life had value, and the main character went from an innocent kid who didn't even want to kill the worker ants, to a complete monster fueled by rage who was willing to risk his own life to get revenge in the most brutal way possible.

I completely agree
100%
Literally the most overpowered character in the show is Komugi (I’m not serious). Since she's the one person the king couldn't beat. The end of the Chimera Arc rlly had in tears. I was debating the whole arc whether to like the Meruem or to hate him. And at some point, I didn't even want them to kill him. I rlly enjoyed his character, and his development. Especially at the points where he was contemplating his identity and how eager he was to learn his name.
something to compare that really gets me is the development. think about it, meruem was evil, we hated him, and somewhere along the line we accidentally fell in love with him. the same way he did with komugi without realizing, togashi will go down as my fave mangaka just for this reason alone
The manga is hinting at a few others the king wouldn't be able to beat. Literally anyone that survives the current dark continent voyage is already confirmed to be stronger than any of the ants.

I really love how HunterXHunter shows how Gon, the protagonist, is not a perfect boy, but a human with flaws and selfish desires
Like how he showed his selfish desires to save a random fodder by jumping out from the ship, or how he was ready to do suicide over some random dude who saved him once and disappeared, when a mom like figure who raised him is waiting for him at home, what a totally not generic garbage character.

I’ll agree to disagree, that death was too fucked, especially done by the main character
Sorry to say but it was brutal. It was slow and painful. Her head was completely destroyed.
If your justification that she killed Kite and turned him into a puppet then let me tell you that it was her very duty to kill Kite. Was Kite not going to kill the Queen and Mereum with her? Yes , she was testing her strength but should she not know if she is a capable Royal Guard and would be able to protect her king? Turning his body into a puppet was bad but ikalgo also uses dead bodies as puppets . Why is he treated like a hero then? She had a strong blood lust and liked toying with her opponents but Netero and Hisoka do the same. Gon respects Netero and has a sort of attachment to Hisoka. It is clear that even though Gon is wary of Hisoka , he does not hate him and actually sees him as some sort of mentor. She protected Komugi like a mother and clearly loved Mereum a lot. She was even relieved when she knew she was about to die because she knew that her death would mean her king would be safe. She was also the only Royal Guard who cared for his wishes instead of trying to impose her idea upon him.She was loyal and understanding. The only reason Gon viewed her as a monster is because he saw her killing someone close to him and as we saw he did not view the ants as creatures who could have emotions. He did not even consider the fact that they were to kill the queen as well.He referred to her as a thing instead of a person and that is understandable because he is a child and does not think from her point of view. Pitou could have easily killed Gon when he mourning and was not guarded but she chose not to and actually gave him the chance to fight her instead.
Yes , she was supposed to die . Humanity had to be protected. But did she deserve that brutality?

This Arc is the greatest Arc in any anime. You did an excellent job breaking down. I have never seen character growth soo perfectly executed than HxH
When Gon found Pito healing Kamugi and he was screaming at Killua saying why he can't fight her, bruh his voice really hit hard, you can literally see the pain and rage through his voice and expressions. It was heartbreaking..
I'm struggling to find something new to say after your great video and these amazing comments.
What stands out the most to me is how Togashi makes Gon, who is supposed to be the innocent childlike protaganist absolutely disgusting, and makes the villain go through one of the most amazing character arcs I have ever seen in my life. And all of this while following so few tropes that are so prevalent in anime. Not all of the royal guards get killed heroically by the main crew, and most mindblowing to me, Gon is not only not even a part in the most important fight, but the main villain doesn't even know that the protagonist of the series even exists. Also as is normally the case in anime, the protagonists are overwhelmed with bad odds but almost always keep their cool, but Knov, one of the most experienced Hunters literally loses ot due to fear. Man I can go on without end about how amazing this arc is.
Togashi will forever have my admiration for his incredible writing in here. And the most incredible thing is, this isn't even the only god tier arc in Hunter x Hunter. It could be argued that the Yorknew arc is just as good, but in smaller scale and maybe less ambitious. Togashi is an unmitigated genius.
Oh wow I rambled on for so much, just cam here to say that I'm all for the admiration of this arc and it's a hill that I'll gladly die on.

No wonder the author has to take breaks from writing it. He needs to power up.
Story wise this damn arc is the best in all of the anime I’ve watch. But in term of favorite, the Yorknew arc is my favorite.
This is one of the best arc, it's incredible how detailed storytelling is done just wow!
there's a bit of incorrect evaluation of actions maybe @25:00, Pitou isn't a "monster" because it is healing its own arms in front of Gon, it is doing that because it has mustered up the resolve to kill Gon.
Pitou honestly truly respected Gon because he let it heal Komugi when Pitou begged Gon to and also states this very thing, feeling sorry for Gon's loss and empathising with him. But Pitou very well realised that Gon was a very strange phenomenon who could very well turn out to be a lethal threat for Meruem, hence it decided to kill Gon, stating this very fact multiple times while healing Komugi and up until Gon relapsed into darkness.
So no I don't believe that Pitou is a "monster" as the one that you made it out to be, infact it surprisingly felt a lot of humane and conflicting emotions towards someone like Gon, a complete adversary.
Anyone else completely lose it during the final moments between Meruem and Komugi?
The way that the story felt to so perfectly tie up and to experience how their characters both grew and didn't really change in the end. To see how their differences in skill, status, species, and knowledge were so impactfully meaningful yet so meaningless in the face of each other's admiration and love. To hear how Meruem's concern for Komugi surpassed the concerns for himself and how they persisted until the last second. To feel Komugi understand his care and love and try to reciprocate with warmth, comfort and compassion.
I don't think I've ever had the honor of experiencing a more beautifully delicate, nuanced yet simple complex and strong relationship in any anime.
It broke me and I had to stop watching just to allow myself to find a way to stop crying
Great Video!!! You really went in depth about Gon and Meruems Parallels. I love how Gon asked the Phantom Troupe how they can kill those who have nothing to do with them, and then threatens Pitou to kill Komugi to get what he wants... A girl who has nothing to do with him.
This is definitely my favourite arc the characters and character development in this arc is amazing and the fights are spectacular
There is so much to this arc it’s insane especially with Gon and Killua. Gon becomes the monster Meruem should have become and another charchter swap was Killua becoming the one in the light while Gon is in darkness...just for a start.
I love how komugi isnt the usual "weak" girl who fixes the bad guy with her love , she is extremely smart, determined and brave. They both develop feelings because they have a huge amount of respect for each another. Fuck im crying again ....
I thought about sleeping, bjt instead watched this video all the way through.
Fantastic commentary and it's crazy how you weren't able to even include most of the things you wanted to.
Superb narration, magnificent points and everything I expect from a DBZImran video
Keep it up mate and I really want to see more HxH videos!
I love shows that have have messages about real life topics hidden and represented by characters it makes it so much more in depth and feel like there was so much more thought out into the actual story hxh is amazing and this arc is needed especially with what’s going on now in 2020
Chimera ant arc
Yorknew city arc
Golden age arc (berserk)
Return to shiganshina arc(attack on Titan)
Marley arc( aot)
Farm arc(vinland saga)
Promised day(FMAB)
L arc( death note)
Are some of the best anime/manga arcs
Pain arc, chunin exam arc and marine ford arc are also pretty enjoyable
Marineford one piece????
now THIS is factual
@@spow1839 I haven't got till there.
I am currently at chap 250 in manga. I won't watch anime as it's too slow
Promised Day is #1.
L arc ? It's a full season of death note 🤣. And please watch gintama, gintama is the perfect shonen package .
Finally, someone else who can literally go on for hours about the chimera ant arc. You, sir, are a great man.
I'm not surprised that Togashi hasn't published any new chapters for so long. After the Chimera Ant arc, he probably couldn't even come up with a new arc to follow it.
The current arc isn't nearly as good, which unfortunately shows.
I hope he doesn't give up and finds a way to build on such a brilliant arc again.
The only thing I was missing was Hisoka.
I would have loved to see how Hisoka did there and what kind of character development he would have shown.
I am not a killugon shipper, well simply because im a guy for one. And secondly, I do believe that their relationship really has overall helped the growth of both characters. The overall growth is absolutely incredible.
Hunter x Hunter 2011 is my favorite anime.
I love shows like, Hunter x hunter, fullmetal alchemist, steins gate and attack on titan ♥
What about love live ???????
Ҡɧą ŞΔŋ that show is lame
Lol cap hunter x hunter is so bad i didn't even finish it bc of like the 10 episodes of narration

this makes me so excited for the succession war/dark continent arc to return. togashi is a genius and i have no doubt his plans for the future arcs are out of this world!!!
I think the 1st part when the queen is injured could mean the chimera ants were wiped out by another species and the queen was the only survivor. Her trying so hard to make a "prefect" king could've been her way to seek revenge.
This is the arc that turned boys into men
I enjoyed the whole show but the CA arc stands out to me above most anime and I guess it's for a few reasons. It has several storylines all relating to an overarching theme. The characters generally make decisions that don't feel contrived/convenient for the plot. Often that leads to moments that are some of the highest points in anime for me.
Like we get ~9 episodes spanning maybe 30 in-universe minutes where Youpi is having the biggest fight of his 2-month old life. We already know he's a shapeshifter, but we learn that he can harness his rage to explode, and he wants to learn to control it so he can use it as a weapon for the king against "the intruders". After being attacked by Killua he comments on how nen is enabling people far weaker than himself to compete against him. When he finally gains mastery over his rage
>Rage is not intended to be scattered. It's meant to be focused on a target.
he's able to quarantine it so it can be "focused on a target." He's accomplished his goal. But the quarantined rage no longer clouds his judgment, so he acknowledges Morel's strength. It's because of Youpi's admiration that he strikes a deal and lets them walk.
It ties into CA's overarching theme but also subverted my expectation (probably an overused word but it applies here) while staying true to Youpi and Knuckle's characters. And it was perfect that it was Knuckle who broke because Knuckle is the softy pacifist. Youpi's arc was brilliant to me. And it was just one ant's character arc.
hunter x hunter made my expectations so much higher than they used to be, and i cant explain just how well it is portrayed throughout the story. I keep trying to make my twin watch it but she tells me that she wont cause they look like 5 year olds...help
Tell her i said. BAKA!!!
cesar rangel I will don’t worry😠 👍
show her, the scene when hisoka took a bath on greed island arc.😂
Lol don't make her watch an ass as anime I wish i never watched hunter x hunter
@Ryuzaki so What it's better than hxh
The chimera ant is definitely the ONE OF THR BEST arc in anime history, hope they extend the anime now, shaman king got it's new animation and also cardcaptor got extended last last year still hoping for hxh
This anime is just a masterpiece...made me cry, made me laugh, made me triggered, mad, made me feel especial for some reason😅but it's bc this anime literally changed me
25:00 I really don’t think Pitou was being cruel by healing in front of gon... she already told him: “kite is dead, I’m sorry”. It’s Gon’s fault for getting his hopes up like the naive character he is at that point... she simply healed herself, nothing cruel about it
His naive character is what makes it feel so real
The arc where the monster became human (Meruem) and Human became monster (Gon)
Greed Island Arc= Happy Version
Chimera Ant Arc= Dark Version
Both are good arch.
37:28 what did he mean by this????😭😭😭
Still makes me cry!! All the endings are just bitter sweet! Meru was so well developed.
Honestly I will never ever understand some of the criticism this arc gets. You always hear "the narrator was too much" or "too much detail/too long" which is incredibly laughable in my opinion.
The narrator made every scene more impactful in my opinion and made it seem like a grand epic that both shows AND tells. And the narrator often tells us about the thoughts and feelings of a character that might not have been as clear had we not been told about them. And even if he only tells us about things we are seeing ourselves, it always added some oomph to it.
I find the criticism that it was apparently too long the most ridiculous tho because since when is adding detail a bad thing? I never even once thought that things got stale or boring. I would assume most people who have an issue with the pacing prefer fast paced stories and don't have the required patience to really appreciate the CA arc to its fullest.
That's just my two cents tho and to me personally the chimera ant arc is definitely the best shounen arc ever made and one of the greatest arcs in general.
I absolutely LOVED the narration woth the fight scene and what each character was thinking because it all happens so fast in real time and you usually arent getting those in depth perspectives in other shonen fight scenes
I agree with you 100% for this arc but I will say there are times where adding detail is a bad thing: One Piece. It's a great manga but Oda just goes so over the top with his character development of even the most minor of characters that it makes a lot of the arcs sooooooo long and boring. Chimera Ant arc was the best balance of great character development, perfectly laid out plot and interesting action, without dragging anything on to the point of losing interest.
That’s how I feel as well! Like stop trying to make it seem like more details is bad, in fact more detail is better!
I don't see the criticism AT ALL to this arc. Yes, is long. Yes, it has narration. What's even bad about that? This arc for me was AMAZING and the most epic and beautiful anime/manga arc I've honestly ever seen. I felt such pressure while watching it, every episode was amazing and i loved the storytelling, pacing and EVERYTHING.
I just can't see the people saying "it's overrated", like, NO.
I fucking loved the narrator man...The narration made the chimera ant what it is
Chimera Ant is indeed the absolute best arc in all of shonen of all time. Heart goes out to my brothers and sisters who haven't seen it
it's the worst arc
@@r3mpuh it’s good but drags for too long tbh
I felt like you didn't cover enough relationship of royal guard between themselves and with everyone else in respect to the king. I really liked how Pitou admitted the greatness of humans, when they impressed her, and was willing to allow humans interact with the king,if they were useful to him. And how Youpi developed respect towards humans, even though he first viewed them as insects, and how he is troubled choosing between serving his beloved kind , or letting his opponents escape. And the most interesting part is how Pouf was intensely pressuring both of them. Pitou was open about her opinion on people, so he took advantage of her, when she was healing Komugi, hoping that she would kill Gon, and that Killua would kill Komugi in return. Youpi was embarrassed to admit to his comrade that he respects humans that they both used to consider trash and let them escape.
I think the other Hunter’s story arc was amazing too. Netero’s backstory was intriguing in how he was renowned as this all powerful hunter and is Humbled by the king. He also has to find motivation to fight Muerum because he knew he could convince him and was passive. Shoot had to get past his cowardice and became determined. Knuckle had to recognize how in being too kind can still lead to success. Know went from overconfident and condescending to traumatized and humbled understanding Gon and Killua’s stregnth. And Morel had to stop underestimating foes and receive help. Palm kinda just learned to not be obsessive in her love.
Even the most powerful humans cannot easily enter the dark continent because of creatures like the chimera ant...
@@williamthekiller7219 Netero actually went to the Dark Continent twice and failed to find a creature worthy of fighting him in the way that Meruem did.
@@zacharyliverseed8464 Meruem's kind was considered one of the weak creatures if I remember correctly.they only got stronger because they evolved overnight. even if what you say is true, we don't know how deep Netero went with his last 2 expeditions

@Ryuzaki bro the land of waves’ main theme was gaining power from the need to protect friends, didn’t you even watch the show???????????????
@Ryuzaki you really didn’t watch the show, answer this question, why was naruto’s nine tails awakened? and why did sasuke’s sharingan awaken?
@Ryuzaki ok now why was naruto angry?
Kinda scary to think that there are two levels above the ants. Really makes you think about what exactly it is that could be even more dangerous.
You don't have to think, cause there is already someone more dangerous(which is nanika)
There is only one level above the Ants. The reason why they're B and not A mostly has to do with their rate of reproduction and ability to be negotiated with.
I finished this anime awhile ago and to this day this is one anime who’s story pulled me in gave me many chills even shed a tear at points this is a anime recommendable by anyone
This arc ant is one of the best memories I have of all animes arcs, it is a master piece.
This anime was so good I ordered the manga as soon as it was done. Been missing it so much and no other show compares :(
I just finished HxH for the first time like a week ago and this arc is the best arc I’ve seen in any anime. It’s true that the total number of episodes could have been cut down and sometimes the narration was unnecessary, but I still found the whole thing very enjoyable from start to finish. By the time I was 2/3 through it, it already surpassed Yorknew city for me.
It was neccessary so that way you can better understand what is going on.
What never gets talked about is netero pretty much did the same thing as gon by using the 0 hand and it even hand similar results on their bodies
This is. By such a huge difference. My favourite arc. Ever.
Pitou had the second best character development
Pitou changed because meruem changed
She became the most sympathetic character who cares about others emotions all the while protecting meruem
Cant believe you're saying this in the arc with Killua's best character development
@@CJMoo-zm8zw
I meant about the ants
Killua is the best protagonist in hxh imo
He, pitou is a man
@@oscarfoley511
Pitou is never referred to as a man or a women but her feminine appearance and depiction is what leads many to believe that she is female
One thing I learned in this arc is that bombs are op.
man its so good and the thing is it can be better with this next arc if finished has so much potential
You know it's good when the protag winning the fight makes you sad and when the antag is "defeated" it's even sadder.

When meruem asks if the dancers ever spared a cow or pig, that just hit different. If I had a choice, everyone in the world would be vegetarian, but sadly it isn’t. I really want to end the suffering of animals, give them space, and all that, but weak minded ppl like me cave in to societal norms to the extent it’s depressing. Yes, I just said that because of how mentally weak I am, I’m a depressing part of this world. Idk if it’s just me, but my personality contradicts itself so much it tears me apart. My heart breaks whenever I am mean to someone or others are mean to ppl without reason, but my laziness and selfishness make it hard to fulfill myself. Either way I end up feeling terribly. Either I feel terrible because I was mean to someone, or annoyed that I had to do something bothersome for myself. Idk why this matters to any of u, but do with this as u will
