I've been thinking about a certain line in Rune Factory 4 lately. Sometimes when talking to Raven in RF4, Lest/Frey will tell Raven that she should smile more. Raven will respond with "...You say the same stuff he does." Now, when you hear that, I bet your first thought is "Oh, she's talking about Gaius!" But here's the thing: Gaius never says that in RF3. Not even once, and not even anything along those lines. I combed through the entirety of the RF3 script looking for it, but he never says it. In fact, none of the other males say that, either. Except for one... Micah. And you know when Micah says that line? After he marries Raven. During the post-marriage part of the game, Micah will sometimes tell Raven "You look prettier when you smile, Raven." Also, in RF4, the Sharance Tree flowers have bloomed, confirming that Micah has married someone at that point in the timeline. Why else would that line from RF4 Raven be there when it only matches up with Micah's dialogue? It's such a specific thing for the developers to put in that it has to hold some significance, because again, none of the other males in RF3 say anything similar to what Raven brings up. What's my point, then? Basically, I'm in denial and am trying to rationalize Raven being the canon bachelorette for Micah even though I already know it's not true and I'm trying to hold onto any last shred of hope I have. I think they did that because they saw the fans liking Raven more than Shara as a Bachelorette. But actually they planned Shara to be the cannon Bachelorette

When I saw this opening I was wondering why they thought anyone would actually marry her. Why were the developers so confident in her? Everyone else was so much more interesting? WHY WAS SHE SPECIAL? RAVEN WAS SPECIAL! (I married Colette, but honestly she was not that special, but I still loved her)
What really bothers me about Shara is (you know how when you talk to someone theres a picture of them along with the text, like in most Japanese games) how her eyes are drawn there. They look rather odd, wouldnt you agree?
I'm from the future and.. is there really need a reason.. to.. ummm.. you know.. Hate on Shara? I like Shara. She doesn't have a good story unlike the others. She may not be as good of as a person unlike the others. But you know.. I still like her in the game.

I married Karina so when the 2nd opening pop all of a sudden I was excited. "Aw, an opening with my Kari-" stops and sees Shara "Okay, this is not good. Did Micah married Shara behind my back?"
I know that feel. The part where they go through all women, Karina is the first one. The cam went past her and I said "Wait, you left my wife behind, go back" Shara is evil.
The game want you to marry Shara. As she's the woman that want the most for the tree to bloom in the game, and in plot points like the Unity Festival she's one to help. And her grandfather says that you mustn't be normal if you don't want to marry her. I liked the other women personalities more than Shara. And I do not like to have flowers for lunch. There's only one 2nd opening because they ran out of space too. But she's the canon wife, so whatever. I just #dealwithit It didn't reduce my 10/10 score I gave the game.
Why do I have this much of a fondness for the song?! I seriously cry whenever I hear it. The weirdest thing is that I haven't played this game or even thought about it for years since my save file was corrupted... right before I was going to propose to Raven... *sigh* I had no idea this game had affected me so deeply. I get super emotional just thinking about it...
the best thing for you is to play if a remake ever came, you just missed the literal critical point of the game which you'll fight the final boss and get explaination why mc got amnesia, the point of the opening songs that will make sense after marriage, THE MARRIAGE SCENE THE BEST PART, that wholesome scene showing your child to everyone which is the most satisfying open ending ever i see in a game.

Raven is best wife. change my mind. she is cute, she has an incredible backstory and i mean, how could you not fall in love with her and try to make her smile more. my sweet, depressed but also incredibly radiant raven.
I never really liked marrying the main Girl for the MC. They just happen to be waay too easy to fall for you. I like the girls that are rather difficult to get, or they love crystals or dungeon item drops; monster drops and so on. I actually the fashionista girl, but sadly she wasn't apart of the bachelorettes.

I know this is six years old, but I replayed the game like 4 years ago and chose raven instead of shara, and the dialogue concerning the last boss fight is really awkward, he’s kinda like, well you were supposed to marry someone else cause then I can say that the marriage is stupid cause your half monster/human so you can’t marry, but you just had to marry the one girl who is also half and half ffs. I don’t remember who points out the redundancy though, it was either Raven or Aquetaous or whatever his name is

I'm amazed with the variety of dialogues in RF3, if there are two characters close by they end up interacting in the conversation, man it's amazing, RF for me is and will always be better than Stardew valley...
I love how the second opening is totally romantic with Shara. Especially how it plays immediately after you propose to someone that's probably not her.
God this game has kept me sane during the 2020 quarantine. I felt a little sad about erasing my original save from 8 years ago, but reliving such a beautiful and honestly underrated game has brought me so much joy and nostalgia. I'm not the only one who married Kuruna, right?
I understand why there's only one marriage opening and I understand why they chose Shara. You know, you run out of space quite easily when working on a game like this, especially if it's to be stored on an SD card. A way they could've fixed this is by including all the girls instead of focusing on the "intended love interest," but I guess that would be a different issue all together, making the protagonist look like a polygamist. Someone also said the reason the children all look like the protagonist and only the protagonist (although they kinda look like Rusk...) is to not make the player feel pressured into marrying any specific person, which I think is bullshit when you watch that second opening.
In RF2 if ya marry the merchant lady, in RF3 she's just a single merchant lady. Basically this is a story game which you can make a twist but you can still see the main one.

I gotta say raven was my favorite waifu, her story and her romance story was honestly phenomenal. When you have to rescue her from the dragon God it felt like a scene from an anime and the battle was honestly awesome even after beating the game I still went back just to fight the dragon again. My favorite part was when I first fought the dragon, I was too weak and ended up losing, after that I started clearing through every single dungeon at least 50 times each in order to get strong enough to beat him in one go
My thoughts as I watched the 2nd opening of RF3? 'B-but I didn't marry Shara D:' If you do marry Shara then whoopie, the game approves. Marry someone else? 'Game does not approve, game shall now shove intro of you with someone else in your face now. Do you feel sad? You should.'

I always found it weird how the intros of the runefactory games always prioritzed one of the possible brides and especially their choice of main girl in RF3. Mist made sense as she was all up in your business constantly, Mana made sense because she was the Woman that a farmer would have the most contact with, tides she literally shares your body most of the game although that game is a little bit of mold breaking... I don't even remember the name of RF3's main girl but Raven/Toona was basically the female version of the MC if he hadn't gotten into the Royal knight corps. Feeling isolated by what is basically a gift. So much more in common with Raven then all of the others!
The second opening with Shara is at least better than Rune Factory 2's opening. It at least SHOWS the other girls. RF2 was all MANA MANA MANA MANA MANA. Hmm....I think they want me to marry Mana...but I'm not sure....XD

When I did ravens heart event when she reviles she is a monster I was like "Awww, how come she gets a giant bird and i'm stuck with a wooly?"

love these OPs, Special's OP is good don't get me wrong but these they just REALLY sing to your soul, not to mention that Special's Alt OP just pales in comparison to what they did for the original

I gotta say raven was my favorite waifu, her story and her romance story was honestly phenomenal. When you have to rescue her from the dragon God it felt like a scene from an anime and the battle was honestly awesome even after beating the game I still went back just to fight the dragon again. My favorite part was when I first fought the dragon, I was too weak and ended up losing, after that I started clearing through every single dungeon at least 50 times each in order to get strong enough to beat him in one go
Haven’t heard that opening since 2013. Still know all the words. Nothing tops it (especially not the new opening for rf3 special)
My thoughts as I watched the 2nd opening of RF3? 'B-but I didn't marry Shara D:' If you do marry Shara then whoopie, the game approves. Marry someone else? 'Game does not approve, game shall now shove intro of you with someone else in your face now. Do you feel sad? You should.'

But I love Raven why game developers made only Ending with Shara why not whit other gilrs

To me RF3 has the best OP of all RF games
I always found it weird how the intros of the runefactory games always prioritzed one of the possible brides and especially their choice of main girl in RF3. Mist made sense as she was all up in your business constantly, Mana made sense because she was the Woman that a farmer would have the most contact with, tides she literally shares your body most of the game although that game is a little bit of mold breaking...
I don't even remember the name of RF3's main girl but Raven/Toona was basically the female version of the MC if he hadn't gotten into the Royal knight corps. Feeling isolated by what is basically a gift. So much more in common with Raven then all of the others!
So sad they changed it in the remakeeee😭😭😭

The second opening with Shara is at least better than Rune Factory 2's opening. It at least SHOWS the other girls. RF2 was all MANA MANA MANA MANA MANA. Hmm....I think they want me to marry Mana...but I'm not sure....XD
