One note of caution with the beer wings: Stouts and IPAs tend to reduce down and become really bitter and are therefore not recommended for cooking. Definitely stick with a pilsner or lager.
It's stouts and porters ya wanna avoid in these kinds of recipes... they're the red wines of the beer-world, IE they get REALLY bossy and bitter should you reduce them down too far. IPA's pretty hoppy to begin with, so yeah... definitely stick to using an IPA in a fish-batter or summat. Stick to a lager, pilsner or a "middle of the road" ale, and you should be A-OK.
Buying chicken wings around here is like buying wings for a new Learjet! Holy crap, you'd think they were gold or something. Thanks Larry for sharing the recipes though. God bless. Rev. D.
Years ago you made strawberry short cake wings…I tried the recipe and my family and I loved them!! I had hoped you’d include them in this video but ce’ la vie ! Eat well !!❤️
I did make the 57 sauce wings Larry back when you had this on, the BEST!! Thank you:) And thank you for all the great vids, always look foreward to a new vid from your kitchen:)
Hey this was great. We're going to be doing chicken wings this weekend and I would like to try something new. You gave me plenty options. Thanks WolfePit 👍
The ones I am most eager to try: 1: Grilled Beer Chicken Wings, and 2: Chinese Lemon Chicken Wings. However, I'd use less sugar on the second choice. Anyhow, great presentation!
@@LuisScharf Well there are several recipes in this video, one has to marinade over a couple hours. I do suspect @deshaefromarounthaway richardson is making a post to get attention and not someone that has wings for breakfast, unless his girlfriend did not change her pad.
Great recipes! Unfortunately, wings and other cuts of meat that were once cheap and a staple of many poor families' diet have become so popular and overpriced that they are now a luxury. Don't get me wrong if I want wings I get wings but at around 4 bucks a pound I buy legs and thighs instead and make due, and by making due I mean I spend less and eat more.
frozen bags of boneless thighs are maybe the best deal, but not everyone has them. Lidl near me has them, and I think it still works out to around 90 cents or so per thigh (mostly pretty large sized thighs).
I couldn't care less about football but I'm completely obsessed with game day recipes so I'm all in, ha ha ha edit: my mom would routinely make Coca-Cola pork chops when I was a kid! P.S. fyi the cola chicken wings are at the end of the video, not second to last, no big but thought ya'll would wanna know
It's a great reason to cook. So cook your heart out, watch the commercials, and go to the bathroom, refill your beer, and get more wings while the playing stuff is going on.
when i was workin in a bar many moons ago our wing recipe was simple. mix seasoning salt into some flour til the flour has a nice orange color then deep fry the wings till done. back then they were only 10 cents a wing now they're worth almost as much as a good steak.
In all of these Chinese style chicken wings, I Would suggest adding ( five spice powder) to those recipes, this Five Spice Powder is unique in Chinese cooking.
Thanks, Larry! My favorite recipe was the first one... call me weird but I don't like saucy wings. I usually like them plain or with a rub, and have a dipping sauce on the side.
the first recipe, the Chinese chicken wings, are the best wings in the universe. The flavour is indescribably wonderful, with or without the mumbo sauce. In fact, in Canada, they are not served with any sauce. God, I love them.
As a Chinese, I swear I'm totally caught unguarded seeing red braised wings and cola wings and can prove these two recipes are authentic as f**k. You may reckon that these two recipes have some internal commonality, as the cola wings recipe is a twist from the red braised wings recipe, just using cola as an easy source of sugar or, to be more precise, caramel. Another fun fact, there were many debates in Chinese foodies groups on whether Coca-cola or Pepsi is more suitable for cola wings. Coke lovers believe Coke brings more flavours, while Pepsi supporters insist Pepsi bears more syrup and works better.
Hey I'm not Chinese but could they try half-half? pepsi & cola? They're both used in alot of Americanized Chinese places from my experience of the drinks (aka Soda Brands) but where I'm from, it's mostly coca-cola here
My fav wings are hooters! I've the breading it's so crispy and crunchy! I've used it on wings and shrimp I just wish I could figure out how they do it so it wasn't so expensive! And their mild sauce so so dang hard to find!!
Larry could have easily made this into 6 separate videos and made six times the profit, but he released it as a single video to make things more convenient for WE THE PEOPLE.
If you have Kroger where you live try their sauce. It's 1887 or 1889. That's the name on the bottle not the cost, although things are getting high. It goes good on any meat
ZEST!!!! You put in Hiroshima levels of peel!!! :-D :-D US Zest must be different to UK Zest, we just have a tool we run over the skin that extracts the zest (oily lemon extract in the skin of a lemon; similar process for orange and lime zests)
I want to tell you I love your videos because it gives me an idea of what I could buy but I have to eat low salt and the stuff in the show is very high in salt do you have any recipes that are low salt
Damn man just did my shopping for the week then this video drops. You got me craving wings now Wolfe Pit lol. I did grab some beef ribs tho aint seen them for a long time
@@waterlily3143 they could've been used to make stock or something similar. :) Or even soups. I do that now days if I get any bird with the wings. I prefer the legs, my hubby prefers the breast.
Wings are some of the most expensive meat you can buy. The ratio of meat to bone/ cartilage is way out of proportion. More than twice as much waste as edible food. $3 /lb wings is more than $6 /lb edible food. You can't get $3 /lb wings where I live either.
I have a toaster oven with an air fryer setting. I might make the first ones that way. Open a restaurant, Larry. All of your followers will become regulars.
Have you ever just wanted wings, and they're just wiped out clean? I'm getting so sick of these shortages. I know you all are, but I'm just having a bad day. Thank you for sharing.
Love the recipes. I can’t get over “mayflower Chinese restaurant” Now the Chinese probably claim the mayflower was loaded with Chinese and not English.
I know you don't consider your channel a food review type, but if I had to think of a rating system that would tie into the name of your channel, I'd say "Howling" would be good and "Bury It" for a negative.
1 part crystal, 1/3 part melted butter or butter substitute, cayenne, garlic, parmesan cheese, honey. Fry unbreaded wings for 12 minutes at 375, remove, drain oil and let cool or refrigerate. Fry to order and toss in bowl with sauce.

Yeah you can say Marlboro man. Say anything you want and don't back up. Wings? Good gosh no. Crazy expensive for very little meat. Chicken quarters for .49 cents a pound is way more reasonable for us. Soak em, grill em, eat em. Thanks and cheers
