This piece started with a concise Passacaille somehow paying tribute to Ukrainian & Russian traditional legacy, continues even in a more interesting way with a "jazzy" scherzo and fugue that oscillate between ragtime and Bartok with fugitive echoes of Sciostakovic (in the Fugue) and Liszt (in the Scherzo). Great discovery
