I'm in shock. This is superb. Strongly tonal yet elusive and surprising at every turn in the prelude. A relentless and rapturous fugue with rock solid thematic grounding and harmonic sustained interest. Damn.
It's been a while since a piece by an unknown composer impressed me this much. Wonderfully inspired, assured and luminous writing throughout the entire sonata. Why is this man not much better known ? And to think this was written during WWII ! Thanks so much for posting this. I was perplexed to see I had not yet subscribed to your great channel. Done so now, of course :)
Well I have immediately printed it out... and put it on top of the big pile of things I'd love to play but may never get around to. If only there were more hours in a day.... and one would not have to work and repair one's house.... It's certainly a piece fully worth the effort.
Agreed. Are you planning to play it? I'd love to hear a better quality recording sometime. I will probably take this piece as a project for the coming years myself.

Alexander Moyzes (September 4, 1906 - November 20, 1984), a Slovak composer.
Thank you very much, this piece is worth further exploring this composer!

PS I think the pianist may be Anthony Goldstone, not Goldstein ?
It means the same of course ;-)
Honestly i cant remember just like that. If you could give me more details, i might help you.
Thumbs up for fugue
