When Italian workers immigrated for work to Northern Europe in the 1900's, some people called them "macaroni" or mocked their food culture especially olive oil, saying it is gross and stinky. Now tables have turned and Italian food is regarded as delicious and rich but it wasn't always the case. There was a time when terms like "kebap man" "macaroni" and other stereotypical food names were used solely in a pejorative and racist way to designate the members of some cultures. And even if today one uses it without "bad intentions" it can be tough to accept for the members of those cultures whose grandparents were ,maybe, called like these in a derogatory way. That's why I think it's not really sympathetic to call revnak (even if he's a douchebag and he is toxic, i dont defend him) kebab multiple times. To conclude, I myself use black humour, ( I love family guy or the simpsons) I can even criticize or make fun of my own origins. But if I said something that hurt somebody, I'll just stop and apologise. I wouldn't like others to keep saying a joke that makes me feel miserable.
