    Thanks for putting so much care and effort into your video. I am a total beginner with caladiums and gardening in general, and all your detailed commentary is really helpful to me. Also, this music is wonderfully relaxing and it's a perfect fit for the content.

    I think for someone who was not very familiar with Caladiums and their needs you did very well. Well done girl! I am also new to them, and loving them. My favourite is Red Flash.

    Filtered sunlight is awesome for Caladiums. I'm waiting on a 3 ring plant support to arrive. Then I'm going to plant my Caladium bulbs. I've got a Pink Beauty Caladium and a Fantasy Caladium waiting to be planted. My window has lace curtains that filter the morning sunlight perfectly. I love the joy you share from watching your Caladiums grow. Take care my friend. Happy growing. 🌿

    When in doubt plant them on their side💚🙃 I also have started caladiums in my house, they haven’t started the wake up process yet, but they will with patience. I plan on moving them outside to my deck/ patio area when it warms up in late spring. There are SO many different varieties of them it’s hard to choose which ones I like the best. In the fall I’m planning on saving them for next season. I had some last year and I got to them too late to save them. We had a very early frost and I was out of town, but I am determined to pull them this year and over winter them somewhere cool and dry. Thank you for the video Rose, it was great to see the time lapse and your excitement at seeing them grow. You will have to keep us up dated?💚🙃

    Also do you notice a lot of your fanny Munson plants dropping and getting brown spots? I have sevweral that are happening at once, but then I see new babies growing at the same time. So I’m not too worried but I’m wondering what am I doing wrong. I’ve been trying to leave them outside in the hot weather, but shaded of course

  • @brucecarey1780
    @brucecarey1780 4 года назад +3

    All 3 your varieties can handle a lot more sun than you think. In fact they can handle full direct sunlight all day long providing you place a water tray under each pot. Your pots are also much to small to maintain healthy strong growth for long periods of time. The nutriens in the soil are going to be depleted very quickly. For that size corms the pot size should be at least 20cm to 25cm in diameter. You would be better off also mixing in a handful of slow release fertilizer pellets to the potting mix with planting. Caladiums are heavy feeders so they do well with regular doses of additional fertilizer in small amounts weekly. Good luck with your plants.

    Why are we still using plastic pots?????

    • @plantwithroos
      @plantwithroos  2 года назад

      Hello, how are you? I like using plastic pots - I get them from plants that I have bought and repotted, and reuse these pots forever. For example this video is 2 years old and I still use those pots you saw. But I agree that shops should stop with plastic, and some have. Just check some of my tour videos at de bosrand! You'll see pots made of some type of natural material 👌🏻
