For anyone curious, Lars Mikkelsen (Thrawn) was also the actor for Russian President Petrov in House of Cards. This role in Ahsoka must have felt right at home for him, as both roles saw him playing a intimidating, dangerous and cunning thug in a seat of absolute power. His mannerisms and stature fit these roles naturally.

Because he realizes the tremendous stupidity of that. That "balance" thing is Joe simply writing for Filoni, no one, no fan is right now getting a similar conclusion of what the point or lesson of the last episode was because it wasn't. That hole ep 5 was MASSIVE fanservice with no meaning or impact on the actual story. When you put that episode under proper scrutiny, it falls apart into pieces. It was nice to get Hayden back, but it was a very poor way to get him back. Filoni simply isn't up to that level of writing.

It’s not well explained, but I think the implication is that the Purgill showing up in the Mandalorian, and then the events in Ahsoka, is that we are seeing a rare migration of Purgill that only happens every (however long Ezra has been gone). That’s why they are all there, and that’s why they all are going to Peridea.
It would have been cool for that to be explained better.

best they can do for Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati is to continue their story in animation form. They can recast using a voice actor while they look for a real life replacement for Baylan. If for some reason they cant find someone to replace Baylan, I guess they can finally write the Baylan character off before the movie comes out. Also what would turn Shin Hati to the good side would be Baylan death in the hands of Thrawn or the Night Sisters

I hope they at least mention some other planets that exist in this galaxy and maybe some of the power/political structures there. Obviously can’t get into too much exploration of it but a little exposition would help give it life instead of it feeling like just another planet…. He still looks pretty good for his age, especially for someone who is stranded billions of lightyears away from home with only a busted up ship, a legion of possibly dead stormtroopers, and Enoch with his Roman funerary mask. I'm confused why there weren't any navy personnel/officers seen either, since there are more of those guys on star destroyers than storm troopers so it's odd they aren't seen in the crowd, maybe we'll see them and it's going to reveal they are actually undead or show that there was a mutiny and there was a disagreement of some sort which made the storm troopers fight with the remaining navy personnel

This episode really made me think they could have made the sequel trilogy based on a powerful enemy coming from this galaxy to invade and be an enemy to the new republic. They could have had new styles of enemy with new designed soldiers/crafts, new ways of wielding the force and been a real threat. If you wanted to include some of the nostalgia you could have had Luke rebuild a version of the Jedi order and be the guide to some new Jedi fighting against the invasion.
Good writers could have come up with a compelling reason for why they wanted to invade and built new stories around that. The way Baylan was talking about the power he felt and he could have been the catalyst for bringing them to the galaxy. Also the new republic could have shown that despite some flaws, they we’re uniting planets and things were working ok until they had a new fight on their hands.
Instead we are stuck with a rehashed story with the empire mk2 and bringing tired villains back from the dead. I feel the only way to build a new story now is to leave Ahsoka and co in this new galaxy where they have a blank slate to start fresh.

the original Thrawn & Yuuzhan Vong books could have easily been their own trilogies. almost like they had a blueprint sitting there since the 90's but no, they had to go make up some dumb shit instead. doesnt help that they waited WAY too long to do a sequel trilogy with how hard the old books leaned on the OT characters, they would have had to do the sequel trilogy instead of the prequels (ie 1999-2005 timeframe) for those to work without major character changes.

The thing that bothers me so much is that in the sequels they state that there hasn't been a war for 30 years since Palps "died".
That means that Thrawn is either not going to return to the galaxy or die in a really underwhelming and pitiful way. Either that, or Disney are going to make the sequels non-canon (which I really cannot see them do, since it would be admitting failure).
I'm concerned how this is gonna play out for Thrawn and feel the character won't be done justice.

"This Allya was a rogue Jedi, the Old Republic did not want to execute her, so the Jedi exiled her, hoping that given time she would turn away from the dark side."
    LUKE SKYWALKER
Allya was a female Human rogue Jedi Knight of the Old Republic. She was expelled from the Jedi Order and exiled to a penal colony on Dathomir. Encountering the other former exiles, she used the planet's strong life energy to teach the colony's women to master the Force. These women became the Witches of Dathomir and Allya was their founder.

I think Sabine is being played pretty well. I’m rewatching rebels alongside this. Any time Sabine has any character development in it, she’s always resistant and closed off first, especially when she was training with the dark saber. And a lot of her decisions in Rebels were motivated out of her feelings for others, like destroying the protectors’ base after they almost killed Hera, instead of letting Kanan be a peacemaker. In this series, she’s been resistant to her Master, and her feelings for Ezra led her to put many lives in danger this time around.
Honestly, I’m happy with how Sabine is being portrayed in this series, as it feels true to her Rebels character. But I will agree her reunion with Ezra was underwhelming.

I have to agree with Alex in that Sabine is still getting on my nerves. She's perpetually ungrateful and had no accountability. It's hard to cheer for her. I get that she has to suck a little so they can develop her character, but it seems like she's more or less getting everything she wants so far. I'm hoping there are harsh consequences for her actions to teach her a lesson, harsher than just a bunch of unnamed rebels dying when Thrawn returns. She seems ridiculously stubborn so her simply saying sorry and being a better person won't work. Something real bad needs to happen for her to have believable growth.

Agreed. She is like this spoiled kid, who everybody think is special, no matter what they do, and she screws up continously with 0 reflection and accountobiliy. Also she acts all the time like an annoying teenager. In episode 6 for example, she is alone on this planet, lost part of ther quipement fighting the bandits, the wolf-mount comes back, and she is annoyed with it that it run.. It feels so silly, she should be grateful that she lucked lucked aht it came back and just fetched him, that she has a better chance to survive. I know its Star Wars, meaning its not a realism based movie, but it still feels so artifical, silly, and annoying.

@@firestarter000001 The scene with her mount frustrated me as well. They tried to do the cute comedy scene from one of the Toy Story movies where Woody shoos Bullseye away. It worked there because we know that Woody is a good guy who was just being unreasonable because he was upset. Here, it didn't work because that's how Sabine acts all the time. It's not a comedic departure from her character because she's upset, it's just more of her being annoying and it piles on.

Sabine, as a character in this show, doesn't work.

So this is something I noticed the 2nd time watching this episode.
When the great mothers have the scene where they say it reeks like Jedi and restrain Sabine…. I think it wasn’t about Sabine….. think about it. Sabine isn’t a Jedi and the only Jedi actually there is baylan “former Jedi”
Then of course with baylans alternative plans compared to Thrawns and when Sabine is being hauled off they zoom is on baylan and he almost looks nervous for once.
Fast forward to the next scene with thrawn arrival when he says “general baylan of the Jedi order” the great mothers then look up surprised.
I think there’s a few twists coming our way

I wish I enjoyed it more, both Thrawn and Ezra felt unbelievably underwhelming. I just wish we got a reason to actually fear Thrawn. We should have seen the scale of his threat, why everyone keeps talking about how terrible it would be for him to return.
I liked Ezra for the most part, but the script writing between him and Sabine was honestly horrific. They had the chemistry of a ham sandwich.
I guess I just had higher hopes for both of these characters returns after so many years of build up, following their disappearance in rebels.

It sucks but I can't picture Disney dumping the sequel trilogy. There's too much merchandising for the sequels in the wild that I doubt Disney would just be okay getting rid of.

So I rewatched that scene several times. And absolutely NO blaster shots were reflected at any point. She took a ton of hits to her armor. She raised her arm to cover her face when someone aimed at her but at no time did she intentionally reflect or parry a shot. Infact her saber handling seemed really reckless compared to a Jedi. Criticism is fine, but please dont make stuff up just to have something to criticice :(
