  • This lesson,"Rotational Swing and Linear Ball Path," featuring original slow-motion footage shot at 300 and 600 frames per second, shows how a rotational throwing action or swinging action (in tennis, golf, or baseball), produces a linear ball bath to a target. Contrary to "common sense" beliefs, lining up the racquet behind the incoming ball is not the proper way to produce a linear ball direction or path to the opponent.

Hey, I love the video. But, your Sidearm throw looks a LOT like my old favorite pre-Modern Era pitcher, Denton True Young! Bill James said he would have “won the Cy Young” award like 5 or 6 times. They should call it “The Roger Clemens Award!”

would you show me with demo for your forehand/backhand.....by this rotational swing.

The modern tennis forehand does not look like a baseball sidearm pitcher. To me it’s more of what you called an uppercut. It starts high, goes low, and finishes high.

I think you're referring to a piece I did five years ago. Now I would say it's somewhat more like a submarine pitcher, where the throwing action finishes high, as you say....so basically, I agree with you.

Thank you for the input. Good try and all correct from my point of view. It's just a bit obvious to me, a sort of "I don't argue". 😊
But for those who just started playing tennis or have a strange coach this will definitely help 👍
