He'll still get an Olympic gold medal when he leads off the 4x100m relay team. That team should be the same guys who finished 1-4 in this race. That combination should be good for a decent shot at the world record or at least become the second team ever to run under 37 seconds

People newer to track or casual fans complain about Lyles "antics" and childish personality, but those who have been at this for a while know that Lyles has been this way since day one. He's alway enjoyed dancing, anime, and putting on a show. It's not an act, it's who he is, and he does what he does to bring more attention to the sport he loves.
Track NEEDS more attention, and athletes/personalities like Noah do just that, bring attention to the sport. Years down the road, other athletes will be thanking him, because he is paving the way for more money to flow into this sport.

I agree. All that personality is going to benefit all of them. The same goes for Sha’Carri’s lively personality and the eyes she brings to the sport. I’ve seen Noah’s mom interviewed and she’s upbeat, so I see where he gets it from.

    • @Asahel17

Noah's antics does not bring attention to the sport. The only thing he did to do that was his world championship comments. Showing off anime and jumping around does not appeal to the average person.

@@Asahel17what does appeal to the "average person" look like?
Make a sound list, and we'll go from there. People go to meets, games, matches, etc to be 'entertained' and that is exactly what he does, ENTERTAINS people. He brings the next generation to T/F because they can relate to him, and the current and past generation watches him because of his consistency and times he puts down. He is the one going out of his way to set up meet and greats, grand entrances for the athletes, etc.
How many other T/F athletes are trying to get their sport on the big stage with viewership??

What that final demonstrated to me was you can have the best start in the world but if you're unable to finish the race accordingly, it can cost you. Noah improving his 60m and getting stronger and stronger in various events including 4x1 relay, 150m and 100m goes to show he can do it all.
Coleman, as the 60m World Indoor Champion, is one of the best to do it but his weakness at the end of the race cost him the Olympic Berth.
Given Noah's consistency, I definitely believe he had a solid shot of winning and I'm happy he did. I definitely believe after this victory, some people need to appreciate Noah's abilities in the 100m and stop treating his Budapest win as a fluke.
He most definitely has a great chance of an Olympic Double this year but we have to wait following the conclusion of the 200m trials.

Had Noah & Kenny as my 1-2 with Lindsey as my #3 missing out :( Well done Fred & good to see Kenny pissed off about not winning the race! Watching Coleman get walked down by Simbine a few wks ago & not being convinced by his 9.95 (1.2) win over Omanyala (9.98) @Pre Classic was enough for me to leave him out of my Top 3! Post Suspension Coleman at his best has 'only' managed 9.83 (0.4), 9.83 (0.1), 9.86 (1.5) & 9.87 (1.5), none of which have come after rounds in a MAJOR CHAMPS FINAL when the pressure is at its HIGHEST! Not sure he psychologically recovers from this w/o at least going through a coaching change at the end of the season?! Need to start taking Top 3 from each semi to the 9 Lane Finals as Kyree King's 9.97 (1.5) 3rd place semi finish should've been in that Final over Kendal Williams's 9.97 (3.0) 4th place semi finish! If Noah/Kenny/Fred as expected make the 100m Final, Coleman/Lindsey/King/Miller will likely run the 4x1 semi.
Well done to High Schoolers Christian Miller & Quincy Wilson who acquitted themselves very well in their respective 100/400m events, both should be in their respective Relay Pools! S/O Kendall, Aaliyah & Alexis in the W400m Final, Freshman Kaylyn Brown looked exhausted in the last 50m, but will do great in the Relay Pool hopefully alongside JaMeesia Ford even though she finished 8th as I hope all these talented youngsters are taken to run at least the relay semis in Paris for the experience before the big dawgs are brought in for the Finals!

Maaaannnn, what a race! I had Lyles, Kenny B as top two with the next few being a toss up. Coleman and Lindsey looked great in the rounds. Fred was also looking surprising good but I still thought either Coleman or Lindsey would edge him out (just based on season consistency). Way to show up and show out, big guy! Hyped for the team. I love that Kenny B is keeping Lyles honest because he is right there! Shoutout to my fellow Wisconsinite 💪🏾.
I gotta see some of the other trials before trying to predict an Olympic top three. I can see all of these guys breaking through but also know there is Jacobs, Sevile, Simbine, and Tebogo . Should make for a fire finals in Paris if they all get through.

My biggest takeaway from yesterday was I Cannot say enough how impressive Miller was. A high schooler running fifth against USA’s best is 🤯 I’m shocked more people aren’t talking about it, they didn’t even mention his finish on air. Heartbroken for Coleman but not surprised honestly, his finish needs a lot of work still he always gets caught by guys in the last 10m. Shocked but happy for Fred, everyone was counting him out due to how his season has gone. Noah looks great as usual but imo he’s doing too much and coming across as extra. It’s to the point where it feels very disingenuous. At least he can walk the talk though. And Kung Fu Kenny! He always flies under the radar but dang he is on fire this year! He’s making that 200m team with Noah too.
Only other comment is I’m sad for Courtney Lindsey not making it either.

Bro if Erriyon is running the curve like he ran it earlier this year he's going to be running 19.4 or lower. No way anyone runs 3rd leg like him. Even without Erriyon the top 4 could break the WR with clean hand-offs.

    • @Yes_I_c4n
      @Yes_I_c4n 2 месяца назад

@@nateoliver2372 That's not exactly the way I see it. Look at what Lyles has done in the past (context). He has been running 9.8s since 2018. More importantly, Lyles has split 3.37/3.38s since 2018 and carries on doing it to this day: 2018 (3.38), 2019 (3.37), Budapest 2023 (3.40), Eugene 2023 (3.37), Jamaica (3.38/3.39), Eugene 2024 (3.37/3.38). The man is maxed out from 60...100m.
Every since Budapest, Lyles seems to have hit a wall also at 30/60m. He's too consistent at 3.87/3.88 since then, including at indoors 2024 (nationals and worlds). From 30...60m, he's also too consistent at 2.57/2.58s.
He seems closed to maxed out in every segment of the race.
I do believe, though, that he can maybe gain something at 30m, say split 3.85s.
I do not think he can go sub 2.57s (maxed out from 30...60) and I don't think he can split sub 3.37s (maxed out from 60...100).
So, I would say 3.85+2.57+3.37= 9.79s at best in Paris. but imho he won't pull off everything perfect in that race, so 3.86+2.57+3.38=9.81s seems more likely.

Like most you are falling for the hype, the razzle-dazzle, the showmanship! I’ll admit he sells it well! Considering that most runners haven’t gotten to the 9:7s yet; he’s the best of a mediocre bunch, especially due to his consistency to run at near his best! For all the talk about top-end speed and speed maintenance, Noah is yet to broach 9:7! He sure looks fast but his times are mediocre, especially when compared with/to the record! Remember there are at least 5 guys alive who have gone 9:79 or better(10 more likely)! For all that flash he’s going nowhere fast! Wake me if or when he gets to 9:7; until then he’s nowhere close to being great, good yes! Again I remind you…the record is 9: 58!
