    The Fastracks are awesome, extremely versatile and capable of gnarly ocean bay sailing and class 2 rapids. Love my FT465 and I always recommend the long version, which is generous for two people which is how I like it

      I'm not a fisherman but am trying to choose between the FT385 and FT465. Use will be canals and rivers, I'm 6ft2 and wife is 5ft 6. We plan to use the Kayak for mostly day trips but also for short camping tours for a couple of nights up river. The Kayak we choose must also be able to be piloted by one person. So my questions are:
      1. Does the Fast Track 385 have enough space for two people, a tent, stove, food, water, overnight kit, two inflatable sleeping mats and two sleeping bags or would it be a bit cramped? This is the main reason I am tempted by the 465. I did see a youtube reviewer who said that kayaks under 13ft (like the 385) are basically 1.5 person kayaks and you really need a 16ft kayak (like the 465) for comfortable space for two people. (See 12mins 30secs ruclips.net/video/AOHdKoJpglA/видео.html
      2. The Kayak we buy will sometimes be used by just one person on slow flowing rivers and canals, I know the 385 would be fine with one person but need to make sure that the 465 would still be usable if only one person is on board or would it be very hard work and difficult to manoeuvre?

    Another great video 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 I’ve been watching you for four years since the red Harbor Freight trailer and the umbrella sail. Thank you for the great inspiring content. BTW loving Mother Nature’s cloud show.

    Great video. I'm not much of a slow bait guy. I rather use crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and top water. I will slow crank a spinnerbait, but it's hard for me to do the wacky rigs, jigs, etc.
    Have you ever used live target crankbaits?

    I see the green chair your sitting on. Have you tried the swivel chair version. Was curious the swivel chair version will be good to use in small creek setting since it sits much higher than your seat. Any thoughts on this would help in in purchasing the right model for me.

    How stable is this boat to stand and fish in? Im interested in the swivel seat version.

    is that the 385fta? it looks more like the 350fx to me but i could easily be wrong.

    Looks like it tracks really well. I am trying to decide between this boat and the razor lite for water recreation use. I notice there is no foot rest. does that cause back strain?

      I’ve had zero back complains with the stock seats

    Could you tell me the clearance between the floor and the bottom of the crossbars for the swivel seat? I am ordering one of these soon and would like to get a container to fit underneath the seat in that area. Cheers form Colorado!

    Are you still happy with your kayak ? I'm currently looking the market for pike, perch, zander (I can accept catfish ^^) in France, close to Lyon, so I'll be fishing in lakes and canals. I plan to use it as well close to the shore in the south of France, and use it with my family. Do you think it can accept small waves ? Do you think it can resist over the time (if so, how many years ?) ?

    How do you think this boat would do paddling against a moderately strong current in a river?

    • @reallyhappenings5597
      @reallyhappenings5597 4 года назад

      Gotta be realistic with that. I have experience loading my FT465 with two people and a 36 lb motor against strong tidal currents in Barnegat Bay. 6kt hull speed maximum over the water and you better have some serious thrust. It's not particularly sleek in the water

    How good is steering with the trolling motor on the side?

    • @VentureTube
      @VentureTube  9 месяцев назад

      Not ideal for sure. Very manageable but I feel it hurts too speed mostly.

    I'm always confused about what people consider fast for a kayak. You mention this inflatable is fast but not as fast as short and wide pedal kayaks. Then I think you mention that sea kayaks are fast. I see and have paddled a lot of slow sea kayaks. So can you tell me maybe how many miles you'd cover in a day on this boat. Are 20 mile days easy? 30 miles in a day impossible? I've yet to paddle a fast inflatable but I'm slower at 9 miles in two hours even in a faster boat. Can you tell me how your boat compares?
